Hi there, well its been one heck of a crazy busy month. I have taken the last few days to play catch up and there was A LOT to catch up on!! Busy weekend? with my husbands birthday and a few parties, plus lets not forget The World Cup which seems to dominate all that we do. But how exciting was that game with US and Portugal yesterday? Wow…talk about a nail biter!? Hope you had a great weekend too.

This will be it for a few days until I leave for my southern road trip. Many many thanks to all who chimed in with the most amazing suggestions, I will be sure to share all we end up doing and have already booked our hotels and some of the restaurants. If you have a trip planned south, you should seriously read over all the comments, SO much great information. Click here to visit that post.

I always like the idea of winging things too when I visit, to get the lay of the land. I think my life is so planned and overscheduled at times? that there is something liberating and wonderful about getting somewhere new and not having a specific agenda, thankfully my sister and I both share this sentiment!

My sons graduation party/Fathers Day party. Still on cloud nine from my party, if you missed the highlights click here, I also got back a few of the beautiful shots that the caterer had taken by a professional photographer who was there really to photograph the food and setting. I thought they came out so pretty I had to share…..

Baby shower. Attended a baby shower a few weeks ago and had such fun putting the gift together. I bought the sweetest Moses basket and we filled it with al kinds of wonderful essentials and baby clothes, topped it off with a darling stuffed elephant, it was such a sweet gift:)

It starts with a bunch of adorable things like clothing and shoes for the baby, I got a beautiful moses basket and wrapped away finishing it with a generous box of pretty ivory ribbon…..

And there it is taking center stage at the gift table day of the shower:)

Pre prom. My son, as most of you know had his senior prom about two weeks ago, despite a rainy gloomy day, by the afternoon the sun came out and it was a gorgeous way to start the festivities. There was a lovely preprom party at the home of his date, and it was too pretty to not share…

The most exciting thing by far is that my tole line is en route…woo hoo! So excited and cannot wait, it should be here within the next 2-3 weeks. Also for many of you who inquired about the Annaball Ingall straw tote, I will know this week if they are coming. There were production issues which I hope have been worked out. People making a difference. I am constantly inspired by people who open their hearts to do great things. I am so moved when I read about their stories and journeys of what they do and hope some day I too can do something really profound, sending in a small check surely helps someone but to roll your sleeves up and really throw yourself into helping is helping on another level. This was one such inspiring story, it really moves you to want to do something, with people like this out there, I am convinced that a profound change can become a reality.

This mother/daughter filmmaker team are really something and I love the way they touched “ordinary people” to throw their fears aside and dive right in to help. So inspiring, you must watch the trailer. ? Click here to visit the website of Opening Our Eyes.

Everything is so beautiful on this post, from your party highlights to the patio to the preprom party, wow! Your gift wrapping on the baby gift was inspiring and you gave me a great idea for my nieces, I am also inspired by the good works of others.
My son and I spent a month last summer in Ecuador with Habitat for Humanity, and it is a month I will never forget. I have never felt so fulfilled as I did when I was there helping others. I loved the video above, thank you for sharing all that you do Tina.

I just love seeing the images from your yard and gorgeous veranda. The table is amazing. Your son’s prom dates home is A-mazing. Dying to see the inside after the sneak peek?happy Monday!!

All I can say, my love, is that you do live a simply “enchanted” life.
So great seeing all the pics of the 2 parties. Love love love your merchandise, as you know. It’s hard not to purchase something new each time I come here! Sending love from hot & humid Houston where, thankfully, almost everyone has a pool…it’s for survival, not just fun! xx’s

Gorgeous images of the veranda Tina and those sunflowers are perfect! It also looks like the weather was perfect ~ always an added bonus. The baby shower gift you put together is adorable πŸ™‚ and I’m sure the expectant Mom loved it. Enjoy your Monday and have a wonderful trip with your sister!

My sisters and I visited Savannah a few years ago. Oh my gosh, it’s so fantastic!

You MUST take a trolley tour and learn the history of the city, and you MUST eat at Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House (I think it’s only open for lunch) – we counted over twenty southern dishes served family style, and The Olde Pink House for dinner (beautiful home and fabulous food).

Enjoy your trip!

Good morning beautiful Tina! WOW, from your son’s prom date’s home, to your beautiful home for the grad party to the Moses basket gift, today’s post is sensational. What a lovely moment for me every time I come here day or night, but right now, the sun is shining, the birds are singing and it is still only JUNE. I am enjoying my summer so much, just learning more about poetry, photography and just enjoying good weather.

We will miss you Tina, as you venture out on your road trip – have a safe and fun trip, and I will keep my eyes open for your next dough bowl shipment! Anita

The pictures from your party are spectacular – what a beautiful setting for a fabulous event! And, the pre-prom party setting was amazing as well. Thanks for the little glimpses into your truly enchanted home! Your baby shower gift was so sweet – what a lucky baby!

Regarding books – I have been reading like crazy lately (part of my poolside ritual) – The Vacationers was good. You might also like “The Secret Life of Violet Grant”, “Goodnight June”, “The Orphan Train” and “The Matchmaker” – they are all great summer reads!

Have a fantastic week, Tina!! xoxo

I just finished reading ‘The Pink Suit” by Nicole Kelby – read it in 2 days! Wonderful summer book about the seamstress and fashion house who made the Chanel ‘knockoff’ (with Chanel’s permission)of the famous pink suit the First Lady, Jacqueline Kennedy wore that fateful day in November in Texas. Lovely story.

On a previous post you mentioned the name of the restaurant for the baby shower held in NYC – such a pretty little spot – but I cannot remember the name – can you tell me what it was? Many thanks πŸ™‚

Such a beautiful party! Love the sunflowers and white hydrangeas together . Your home is just beautiful!

This is all for a high school graduation party! I thought it was for a wedding. Insane!

Parties are wonderful!! I am so happy he had a mother who had enough time, energy, and loving devoted creativity to hold a pre-prom party. He will appreciate it NOW, but he will appreciate it MORE thirty years from now.

“Golly, do you remember the time Mom put on that awesome pre-prom party for all of us? Like it was a wedding?!? I can’t get over it. It was SO special!!!!!!”

One cannot buy memories. One has to make memories. It takes a person with a loving heart to make THOSE kind of memories.

My parents made memories that we carry in our hearts thirty years later. Those memories teach us and guide us, inspiring us to be our best for others! That’s why we CRY when we think of all the things they did for us. Just today we were crying over my our parents,…and then I see THIS!!!

KEEP IT UP!!!! YOU GO, MOM!!!!!!!!

DON’T STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A devoted mother of FOUR wonderful children she would not trade in for the world!

Sorry, I am not wealthy like all of you. All you need is love. I have three beautiful children and I did the best I could with what we had, I threw them parties too, and we have beautiful, wonderful, loving memories. Now they are all grown, they tell me the things they remember the most and cherish the best are just the small everyday things we did as a family. My son got married this last October, and it was a small, intimate gathering, nothing too fancy, but we had so much fun and there was so much love and we didn’t spend $5,000 on flowers. Just saying.

Tina your style and beautiful taste just blew me away. Not surprised though, as all you do is done with such flair. I have really learned a lot from you, I am sure your son will forever cherish that night as I know you will too.

Loved the pre prom house too, beautiful! I cannot wait to get my dough bowl and got the dogs today and they are soooo cute. I love them and put them on my console right away, they look great. Love your blog!

I need to move to NY Tina πŸ™‚ … Your home and the other home you featured… they are so magnificent… so pretty, love the pics… and your party table… Bravo… so, so lovely….. xv

Tina, I hope that you have a wonderful, safe road trip with your sister! Enjoy every minute of fun, sights, food, etc.

I LOVE all of these photos! Your party looks fabulous and you can tell it was a labor of love. Congratulations to your son and blessings as he goes off on the next adventure in his life.

Your store finds look so beautiful in your customer homes! I love to see how each person intreprets design differently.

Looking forward to news of your adventure!

Not all who follow this website are wealthy I can assure you. I have a small home in a very wealthy town in CT and love, love, love my home. My children were raised here surrounded by friends who had lots of money but who were also raised by loving, caring parents – We hosted parties for all their special occasions and graduations and weddings and christenings, etc and no one EVER commented on the venues or the ‘stuff’ – it’s always been about the love – we were/are so fortunate that our friends, no matter the home or any of the trappings of wealth, were the best of friends and the most generous of people. I don’t know Tina, but I’ll bet she is the same sort of person who loves to share her good fortune and I know that I am just one of many who love reading her blog and seeing her gorgeous home – I have never aspired to want what others have in the way of material things and even though I am a flea marketer and have been all my adult/decorating life, I can appreciate the beauty in the way this home is done and the perfect attention to detail in everything she shares with us. Keep ’em coming Tina πŸ™‚

I am sorry if everybody misunderstood me, I am a loving, good person. I didn’t mean to come across as judgemental and mean. I think Tina’ s house is really beautiful and I came across this blog looking for ideas, because We are remodeling our bathroom right now. Maybe I felt like that cause my daughter who is in Cambodia right now and is volunteering to work at a home/shelter for poor and abused girls and young women. Just hearing her stories and experiences and sending me the pictures of the place and the girls really opened up my eyes to how much we Americans have and how some cultures and other countries have so little. She is helping with running the place, teaching them English and about the world( these girls have almost no education and have almost no knowledge of the rest of the world, they didn’t know about tampons and other things about Western culture.) I guess I felt we all should simplify our lives more and try to give back to the world. I think we were put on this earth to love and help one another. Peace and love.

Bravo to your daughter – and bless her for her wonderful help and work and compassion that many of us don’t have it in us to do!! I totally get where you are coming from – all good πŸ™‚ and have fun re-doing your bathroom.

Thank you Anna for your kind words. Excited about doing our bathroom, waited a long time for it. Actually I am inspired by Tina’s color scheme in her bathroom, blue and white. I decided to go with that color scheme and also adding soft gray for the tile. Going with a country kind of beachy theme also. Coastal waters, not tropical. Everything cool and blue and serene. Just worried about my daughter being so far away and in a third world country. She will be coming home in the fall. Can’t wait to see her and give her a big hug.
