Hi friends, and how are you? Hope your weekend has gone well, when you are reading this I will be in Palmetto Bluff so scheduling this ahead of time. Boy, summer is suddenly flying by. I am seeing the start of fall clothes being rolled out (scary) and lo and behold saw mention of a “back to school” ad which almost made me faint. I am just getting started with enjoying my summer! As I periodically do, I share what’s happening in my life and this week includes some beautiful highlights from New Orleans (but I will do a separate post on NOLA, because it’s deserving:) Wishing everyone a fabulous weekend.
_______________
My July 4th table
Heading home from Montreal, always great to see America’s border:)
Coming back from Montreal, we stopped by to The beautiful Sagamore
Headed to a friends beautiful yacht club, Sewanakha for July 4th BBQ and fireworks
My gorgeous white hydrangeas in full bloom
The newest candle, blue hydrangea…love this!
Another day, another tablescape:) Hydrangeas are from my garden
My favorite tea
If you have never had Persian food, you must…it is out of this world!
Never met an heirloom tomato I didn’t just love
Teddy doing what he does well….asking for food and relaxing while watching the dancing sprinklers:)
Whole Foods flowers are always a sure thing
We put them in my nephews jeep and were off…..to help out for my grandmother’s 100th birthday!
A scene from my grandmother’s 100th birthday…you heard right, 100!!
Beautiful Ritz Carlton, my favorite hotel in NOLA
A few scenes from New Orleans
Had a wonderful dinner at Brennan’s
Love their courtyard
Just after a rain, the city took on a peachy glow
I cannot get enough of gas lanterns!
And after a night of going to a number of jazz clubs, which was such a treat (LOVE jazz) stumbled across this group. This video really hits home as to the essence of the city, an ensemble of super talented street musicians sitting on the stoop of a beautiful old townhouse doing their thing….

There you have a recap on the last week or so, lots of good times. Thank you for stopping in and sharing life with me, always appreciate your visits! Hope everyone is off to enjoying a great week. Until next time…..
PS The second day of the warehouse closeout part 1 is on today, be sure to check it out. So many great deals to be had! (Part 2 will post next week) Click here to see
A wonderful post of summertime joy and pleasure! I love all these scenes. Your Fourth of July table is much like mine, except a triple-digit heat spell forced us inside, table setting and all. Oh, well. Cooler spell now, so we’re back to dining al fresco on our courtyard overlooking the gardens.
Tina, I’m a big fan of your blog and love all the blue and white! I see your interest in jazz and think you should check one the annual Jazz Weekend at The Sanctuary Hotel in Kiawah, we have gone a few times and love it! It is right out your backdoor from PB! This year is November 9th-12 2017. Christy
beautiful inspiring scenes of summer, Tina. i love those nola scenes! my week in pictures might present a tad different. i lent my suv to a son and his hippie friends for a roadtrip to get crunchy and camp in colorado. while car-less, i suffered an awful reaction to a new prescription to improve my bone density (skeletally, i’m like…your granny) which involved insomnia, throat infection, and swollen eyes (so i looked gorgeous too!). are you giggling yet? i did have time to attempt to remove algae from the stone wall in the courtyard with a wire brush but may have made things worse. THIS WEEK IS BOUND TO BE BETTER, OUI? 😉
Beautiful photos of everything! I have never eaten Persian food and will try to find some recipes. I believe your husband is Persian, so can you possibly provide us some recipes! Would love to try some!
We are going to New Orleans next week to an Idina Menzel concert at the Saenger. We go once a month to eat and go to shows. We have season tickets to Broadway in New Orleans and love to go there to eat. We are only a two hour drive away. You should check out John Besh’s restaurant Domenica–it is really good. Katy’s in mid-city is great for brunch–last time we were there the Food Network was filming in the restaurant.
My daughters and I had a great time in NOLA in March. We enjoyed a delicious brunch at Brennan’s and several dinners at some great restaurants. We hit a few antiques shops, as usual and a few art galleries. I always enjoy travelling with my grown daughters and I am looking forward to our next outing together in NY, in the fall!
