Hello! Hope your week is off to a great start. Onto my most favorite subject, the Palmetto Bluff house. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of it…..it really is my happy place. The hardest part about decorating remotely is that I cannot run over there when I get a swatch of a fabric I love to see if it will work, it’s not quite that easy. So it requires a lot of patience and more planning than usual. As of now almost all the basic furniture pieces have arrived.
Waiting on dining room chandelier, powder room lighting, the foyer chest and mirror and a few odds and ends but for the most part all of the primary pieces have come in. Now comes the accessorizing aka the fun part as I like to say it. I also want to order benches/ottomans for the bedrooms.
Today I am sharing with you how things looked after my last 10 day stay there. No accessories for the most part (except a few porcelains and pillows) but I have to say I just loved how it was starting to shape up. Exactly as I had hoped and imagined. Now I am working on pillows for living room, accents for the bedrooms and wallpapers for the powder rooms.
So enough of my talking, let me show you around. Sit down and take 5 or 10, there’s a boatload of pictures today. Come on in…….

Gas lanterns and bikes….two hallmarks of life at PB!
Love my shutters, planters and bench on the front porch. Believe it or not those are my faux boxwoods (no one would ever know) ! I needed something I wouldn’t have to worry about especially since we are not always there (faux boxwoods, bench and planters from my shop)
Just about done with the front and loving it:)
And what do you know, it’s really starting to look like a finished house! Pillows are just now in the process but you get the idea!
And for anyone wondering about my decapitated ginger jars behind the sofa, we had only received one lid so it looked funnier to have one with and one without. Another lid has been sent so next time, you will see them with their heads back on:) Yes, those things bug me too!
Powder room, this mirror is not staying, I like it but don’t love it…..experimenting with wallpaper ideas, still not sure what I am doing in here quite yet
In the back powder room narrowing it down, I definitely want this to be blue and white. If you can believe it, never had a blue and white bathroom!
Would love your opinion between the two below-
Our study/tv room, love this custom carpet from Stanton/Rosecore and this mid sized sectional and ottoman need pillows, lamps, and accessories but it’s such a great room and love the view
Bedrooms coming along, above is son #3’s room…love the way this came out (used Silhouettes in all bedrooms from Hunter Douglas and could not be happier)
Son #1 who did not want monogrammed bedding…how dare he! But I am having an oversized monogrammed bolster made:) A little monogram never hurt anyone.
Son #3’s bedroom, pretty carpet and again he did not want monogrammed bedding but he too is getting a monogrammed bolster to add a little pizazz!
My bed finally got installed which I love (from Vanguard as are all the beds) and of course added my monogrammed bedding! Still have lots to do in there but. love the direction so far
All carpets from Stanton and love every single one!
Not a day goes by when I am there that I don’t marvel at my pretty kitchen and that incredible hood, also love my blue stools from Vanguard
I sooooo love this back porch. It is such a beautiful spot and I love how open it is and overlooking the water, it is an incredibly peaceful place
Experimented with pillows from the new pillow collaboration with S.Tullia, this is appropriately named The “Palmetto Bluff” Collection
The mix of patterns is just perfect out there
Of course I had to pick up fresh flowers from. my local market…makes it feel like home:)

And that friends, is the latest. Cannot wait to go back…..supposed to go soon. It was such an amazingly wonderful 10 days, so relaxing even with lots of family in town, it helped it to really feel like home. Loved using my kitchen for the first time and just breaking things in. I have a long way to go and the accessorizing stage is just getting started. I imagine it will take at least a few months (if I am lucky) but it will get done. Just a little trickier doing it from afar. I would rather take my time and get it right then rush and not love what I am doing.
When I go back next time, I am going back armed with lots of fabric samples, wallpaper clippings and all kinds of odds and ends to slowly start adding the “icing” to my home in PB. I am really hoping to try and get there once a month and with luck I will make that happen. I crave and need the peace, relaxation and slowed down pace that PB gives me. Thanks for stopping in and sharing this fun journey with me. Until next time…..
PS Get a lot of emails from people asking how to see previous Bluff Diary posts. It is easy- go to top of the site where it says “blog”, click on that and you will be taken to the blog page. Lovely! I did notice, however, that your front porch benches are not centered on the windows they stand in front of. Try it, I think you will be happier with It!
Kristine, I am a stickler for having things centered, level, etc. as well. I guess the question is do you center the bench on the window or between the two porch pillars?
Tina, your faux boxwood look great! How fade-resistant are they? Also, love the material used on front and back porches and driveway. Is that a permeable concrete aggregate (pebbles or crushed shells mixed in) that was poured on site? Finalizing my product list for a major landscape project and finding out more on water-conserving/anti-run-off materials than I ever thought possible! Love how it’s a much nicer alternative to asphalt, just can’t believe how difficult it is to find someone who can do this work.
Thank-you for posting your Sources list.
Beautiful! The back porch looks like the perfect gathering spot. I’m all about outdoor grilling so I’ll be perusing your previous posts for any mention of which BBQ grill you purchased. Congratulations! Job well done.
Your taste is equisite. I want to move in!! I have to say thought, it’s the pictures of your beloved baby at the end of your posts that get me every time . X
This is out of this world beautiful. I love every single detail. People crack me up about centering your bench- don’t they realize you are still moving in, OMG!
Love every single space, don’t know that I could pick one favorite but loved getting a glimpse of your bedrooms, which all came out beautiful. Love the monogrammed bedding too.
That back porch and kitchen are my dream porch and kitchen. Scratch that this is my dream house! Hope you make many beautiful memories there.
Looking great. I hope you and your family enjoy your new home for many, many years and visits.
Quick question — do you plan on curtains over the blinds in any of the bedrooms? I’m trying to figure out things for my own house so knowing what you’re going to do would be a big help : ) .
Thank you for sharing your beautiful PB home. You have done a fantastic job decorating. I know you will have many glorious days there and make wonderful memories. God Bless you!
Oh my! That back porch is my favorite! Never heard of faux boxwood and yours look great. Your views are incredible and your decor is so fresh and summery!
I love the blue colors of your rooms. I have monogrammed bed spread to. In your last blue bed room it looks like a blue carpet and I cannot tell which Stanton carpet you used. Which carpet did you use and what is the name? I love all your posts.

Welcome to the low country, Tina style!
I just live the photo of the kitchen. Beautiful hood.
Lovely! I did notice, however, that your front porch benches are not centered on the windows they stand in front of. Try it, I think you will be happier with It!
You’ve created a real haven for you and your family. Just lovely.
