Hope you are well….if luck is going my way, I will be heading to PB for a few days when you read this, fingers crossed! Hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend. The last week we have seen a notable dip in temperatures and I could not love it more. One night I even wore a light sweater and a wrap, it was so pleasant and comfortable. I am just over the humidity and heat! Plus the cooler temps signify getting closer to the holiday season which is always a fun but hustle and bustle time for us.

So, onward to my post this weekend……

In addition restocking our best selling ginger jar, pagoda and Sattodrshire dogs ornaments as well. They all mix and match so beautifully. I shared all of the ornaments in detail on my recent Enchanted Home update post, click here to read.

2 AN EASY PEASY PASTA THAT IS SO GOOD! This pasta is on rotation at our house, my sons love it and its almost aways a sure way to entice them home for dinner. Best part is its so simple! Ripe tomatoes are key, one thing I had a plethora of this summer (and am still picking).

The beauty is how simple this is. Fresh ingredients are what makes this so flavorful. I feel like the fresher your ingredients the less you need. This is easily a main course of a very delicious side dish. Can be served at room temp as well.

  • Approx. 6 very ripe tomatoes ( or 3 cartons of ripe egg or Compari tomatoes)
  • A generous cluster of fresh basil
  • 5-6 garlic cloves
  • Olive oil
  • Sea salt and pepper
  • Freshly grated Parmigiano
  • Dash of half and half or whipping cream

Add a light coating of olive oil to sautè pan, cook garlic cloves, cut in half until golden brown. Add chopped tomatoes and a small handful of cut up basil. Cook on low for approx. 10 minutes until well cooked, season with salt and pepper. Meanwhile, cook your pasta (very al dente as it will continue to cook when you add tomatoes). Salt your cooking water and reserve a small amount when you drain pasta.

Gently fold in cooked pasta and add approx. 1/4 cup of salt water. Add heavy cream or half and half and half to taste. I normally add about 1/4 cup. Gently mix and season to taste. Add another cluster of cup up basil. Once mixed, serve onto plate and add freshly grated parmigiano with a few basil leaves for garnish. Enjoy!

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Oh you can definitely see fall is in the air, but there are a few summer themed instagrams thrown in as they were too pretty to not share…..

4 A FALL THEMED DINNER TABLE I had such fun setting the table in my new dining room with our incredible blue tulip dinnerware (collaboration with Caroline Roehm) and adding some fall touches. I departed from my normal palette of softer tones and opted for richer fall tones and the rusts work so beautifully with the blue and white. The finishing touch was the individual pumpkins on each place setting….just love how this came out. All that was missing was a bowl of delicious hearty fall soup:)

5 A LITTLE FALL INSPIRATION I had fun going through my camera roll the other day and looking back for fall inspiration. Here are some pretty fall inspired vignettes from seasons past. This year I am kind of obsessed with the rusty tones against the blue and white, so plan on using that as color scheme this year. I am looking forward to doing a little “fall tweaking” around here in the next few weeks…..

7  SUNDAY’S SURVEY Curious where you fall not the coffee spectrum. I used to drink 3-4 cups a day (throughout the day) then I went down to one in recent years but since I rediscovered my love for iced coffee, I am back to 2 cups a day (sometimes very big cups) but thinking since cooler weather is here I will go back to hot coffee, once a day. The funny thing with. me is I am really particular about what coffee I drink. I would forgo coffee if I cannot have Starbucks or Peets (or any other comparable dark roast, yes, I do love strong coffee) A friend and I were talking and she said she guessed most people have one cup a day, whereas I was thinking maybe more?

How about you? Are you a coffee drinker? Are you loyal to a brand?

Hello All!
I have cut back on coffee – hate to toss any left over so I am now making 6 cups in the morning for the two of us instead of 8, which gives me my a.m. and mid-morning ‘fix’. Even though we’ve been in the US for 30 years, still loyal to Tim Horton’s Dark Roast, prefer it to Starbucks.
Loving this Fall weather (although not today’s damp cold, although it did give me a good excuse to get the fireplace going first thing). Just got back from the Thousand Islands (Cdn side), and the trees are just starting to turn. Nothing better than sitting around a fire pit after dinner with a warm drink and a wool throw over your lap. With no light pollution the night sky is fantastic.
Love your pasta recipe, have a similar favorite that starts out with cooking down sliced mushrooms, then adding the garlic, tomatoes and basil. The mushrooms give the dish a ‘meaty’ texture, so it’s perfect for those looking for “Meatless Monday” dinner ideas.

what a beautiful post full of so much inspiration. Your fall decor is so elegant and he’s giving me some great ideas for a bit of sprucing up around here.

absolutely love your fall table, it is so elegant. I always wanted a round dining table but unfortunately, our room is not conducive to having one… Maybe next house

The holiday tray is beautiful, great gift idea. On the subject of coffee, I drink at least 3 cups a day. I am like you, I like a hearty robust coffee. I am a nurse so often and working night shifts and couldn’t get through without my coiffee!

Thank you for a beautiful posting today. It’s so fun to see what you’re doing and what products you’re working on, and then looking at photos that show autumn slowly making its way into our homes and lives is exciting. Your recipes are fabulous, too! I also love it when you recommend a book, because then I know it’s going to be a good one. Have fun in PB and Happy Autumn!!!

The Instagram photos were breathtaking. So ready for Autumn. Your dining room millwork is wonderful. Coffee…I like it, but it does not like me. The plus, my teeth are whiter. Iced coffee is so good. I am currently stuck on vanilla chai lattes, hot or cold, from a local coffee place. Getting my calcium from the milk.
