Hello and happy Friday. Today is a post on life lately. And two major events have happened….our renovation has officially started as I shared last week and Baby Phillip is here. He’s 9 days old day and I have had the great fortune to see him every single day. He is the bright spot in my day and such a precious little bundle of joy. Nothing makes me happier than getting to hold him or rock him to sleep. He is such a blessing.
The renovation has been a long time coming, so it was very exciting to finally begin. I am going to start a series on the renovation from start to finish, explaining what stage we are in and what we will doing going forward and start to share ideas/decisions that we will be making so it should be a fun series. Stay tuned for that.
Hope you are having a wonderful week, so here is life as seen through my iPhone lately……
Meanwhile in the garden things have not been so exciting…..
This tomato season has been a dismal flop. First they were overtaken by deer and birds, then a fungus of some sort affected almost all the plants. Miraculously, some were salvaged and I am getting small containers of tomatoes here and there but nothing like what I had dreamed of. Next year, taking big precautions. I have heard from many in other states that tomatoes just did not do well this season, so I know I am not alone.
Still have some survivors on the vine
Whenever I am able to find enough to pick, I do a little happy dance and proceed to make something with them, just not a big something haha
Basil and tomatoes from my garden:)
Took a day off to play pickleball at my friends club, it was a lot of fun and a much needed day off. Played a second time that afternoon. Big mistake. Could hardly walk the next morning:) Learned my lesson….I am not 16 anymore:)
Lunch was great!
Made more lobster rolls for my daughter in law who loves them and picked up chocolates for nurses/doctors for my son who was so impressed with the team who helped in the delivery of Phillip (the BEST chococlates) if you are in the area
The night before she had the baby we went out to a local restaurant and had a lobster dinner, a nice evening as the summer winds down
This made me so happy!! Driving by and an actual book store is COMING not CLOSING!!! Now that was music to my ears. Love a good bookstore…could this mean they are coming back??
We are touched by the many flowers and gifts we have received and continue to receive, even a few “grandma presents” from friends…so thoughtful!
Had to share this picture taken by my door dash driver, it was a such a great picture, I saved it to my camera roll:) I joked that he needs a career change, he may have a future in photography!
Saving the best for last….our precious little Phillip!
And that is a wrap on life laterally. A lot going on, almost all good but definitely not all. This is a focus on the good and pretty only:) Wishing everyone a great day and fun holiday weekend ahead. Reminder- our office is closed on Monday. We have some fun sales coming up starting with one today. Thanks for stopping in, until next time……
For our melamine and gift wrap, we will double your order!! Great time to stock up on these items. Plus a beautiful porcelain vase with any purchase of $100 or more!
All good things are beginning! My favorite photo of my now Angel Dog is a photo an amazon driver took of the package that had arrived on my doorstep, and through the glass door looking out waiting for us was our beloved doggie. The best Amazon photo ever. Enjoy your many blessings!
Tina, your little Phillip is so precious! Thanks for sharing all the beautiful pictures of him. So nice that you are so close so you can see him each day! Spoil little Phillip lots!
So happy for you that your renovation has started! How fun this is going to be for you to see the progress each day. How nice it will be to have it all finished so that you can enjoy your new kitchen. I know it will be absolutely beautiful when completed. Just enjoy the reno in the meantime!
Grandchildren change the lens through which we see the world! There is truly nothing greater 💙. Your Phillip is positively precious. Thank you for sharing! And don’t you just love grandma gifts?🥰
