**Not sure why this did not post at the normal time of 9am EST but hoping you get this!**
Hello and happy Sunday! Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying a wonderful weekend. Here it’s COLD. I got used to that California sun and warmth and kind of missing it:) So Thanksgiving is over and its full steam ahead into Christmas. I am doing everything I can to muster up the energy and excitement for this beautiful season. I realized that Christmas for me, will never quite be the same.
My mom and the holiday season were literally intertwined as one. It dawned on me a few days ago, as I started wondering why I have lost some of that enthusiasm that I used to have. I am pretty good at brushing myself off and forging ahead but in some ways the season has lost some of the meaning without her here to share it with. I did a whole Instagram post on it yesterday.
That said, with my darling Mr Phillip in the picture, I am looking to create new beautiful memories and know my mom will be watching from above. He brings me so much joy. So in love with that precious little guy…he is giving the holidays a new and renewed energy and I know it will continue to be that way as time marches on. OK onward to my post this Sunday…

1 ROGERS GARDENS IN CALIFORNIA I had heard so much about this place. They had reached out to us a few years ago about purchasing some items, unfortunately we did not have the quantity they needed but wow, what an incredible garden center/home shopping emporium it is! My husband was a good sport and went with me (sat on the patio furniture while I ran all over the place taking it all in. I could have spent all day there and they have the most charming restaurant to boot, The Farmhouse.
I loved getting to take in all the beautiful holiday decor and loved that a huge part of their holiday florals were white (my fave). If you happen to go to the Orange county area , by all means..go! Such a fun treat, here are some highlights…
2 FAUX GREENERY I LOVE fresh greens however there’s something to be said for good faux greens. The caveat with fresh greens is figuring out how and when to put them up. I always worry about them drying up if I place them inside too soon, yet I want to enjoy the festive decor too! So that’s where a good faux green comes in handy. I like to mix in fresh as well. Normally I will start with a good faux green and the week or so before Christmas I will go out and cut fresh greens and add them into my existing arrangements. Lots of possibilities….
I am going with my traditional blue and white theme this year mixed in with some soft tones of pearly blues. I have two huge ginger jars in my foyer that I like to fill with seasonal branches/flowers/stems. I am debating between adding the traditional dark green stems vs the “snowkissed” version and think I am leaning towards the snowkissed. I love how magical it feels. What do you think?
(both of these will be part of an upcoming holiday floral/greenery sale this weekend)
3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST This time of year, gets so beautiful on Instagram, love all this inspiration…..
4 CHRISTMAS MOVIE LOVER? Nothing can get you quite in the mood for Christmas like a good ol Hallmark holiday movie. The Hallmark channel just kicked off their “Countdown to Christmas” and you better believe I am going to be tuning in. Joyful Mrs.Miracle was the first to kick off the series and I think will be my Sunday movie watching for the day. Click here to see all of the wonderful, “sure to get you in the mood” holiday choices…
5 A BEAUTIFUL HOLIDAY TOUR Love a beautifully layered home that’s not shy of color. So elegantly done with all the festive touches, seen in Atlanta Homes Magazine, click here to read more.
6 MAGNOLIA WREATHS Speaking of Christmas decorating if you are looking for a truly stunning elegant take on a Christmas wreath you must check out Weston Farms. I have featured them many times and with good reasons, their products are simply the most beautiful. So incredibly elegant.I also LOVE their magnolia bunches for using as a centerpiece on a dining table, on console tables and they are perfect on mantles.
Weston Farms has extended a 10% discount for their entire site which will be good through Friday (use code enchanted).
7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY So there is always a big debate as to when holiday decor should go up and when it should come down. I am from the camp that do what makes you happy! I think we work hard to make our homes look beautiful for the holidays and its not at all unusual for my decor and tree to stay up until end of January. I am curious as to what you think!

And that’s a wrap for today’s post. Hope you enjoyed it, always nice to hear from you. Wishing everyone a wonderful day. Until next time….
Coming up this week-
Our big gift wrap, ribbon and gift topper sale starts on Monday
A beautiful post to start this morning. Love your blog and LOVE your new website. SO MUCH BETTER!
I have been to Rogers Gardens and agree its amazing. Love the snowy branches, will you sell them? They would work well with what I am doing this year.
Tina, I know holidays make us miss our parents, but your mom would want you to make everything beautiful as you always do and carry on the traditions for your sons and now beautiful new grandson:-)
So glad you had a chance to visit our beloved Roger’s Gardens in Corona del Mar! We have been going there ever since they opened in a different location many years before moving to this beautiful spot. A few years ago, you asked for recommendations for any stores that might have an interest in selling your shop items & I recommended Roger’s Gardens to you then!
LET THE FESTIVITIES CONTINUE…ON & ON & ON, etc.
This year…”think” I’ll give the hubs a weeks reprieve…we just gathered ALL the pumpkins! 12 degrees coming soon near us… franki
Well you discovered our happy place. For those of us fortunate enough to live in Orange County, Rogers Garden is our favorite place to visit and The Farmhouse is the extra bonus. Christmas is particularly magical. I’m so happy you enjoyed your visit. It’s the best.
During Covid I gave myself permission to leave my tree up past Epiphany as it gave me such comfort. Since then, I have continued to play it by ear but there are no longer any rules on how long it stays up.
I enjoy and look forward to Seven on Sunday each week.
Love this post, as I always do ! I understand about Christmas and other holidays not having that “special” feeling that it did when our mothers and other family members were with us. For me, life will never be as sweet. But I make up my mind to be happy, as they would want us to be. Our Lord is with us to talk to, to place our grief in His hands, and lead us forward each day. Having your precious grandson in your life is a bright light, and will continue to be. My wishes that your days and years will be full of love and contentment.
