Happy Friday and Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! Taking a break from moving, packing, unpacking and all that goes with it today. Looking forward to a “galantines’ day lunch today with friends and a dinner tonight with a special couple. The end of the week is finally here, and I am so looking forward to hopefully carving out some much-needed downtime this weekend. I hope all is well on your end. This is a short and sweet, right to the point post.
Now, today’s topic is a little random, but stay with me—pajamas. Yes, pajamas. Let me explain.
About 5 years ago (maybe a little less), I stumbled upon the most adorable, most comfortable, softest 100% cotton pajamas I’ve ever owned. And believe it or not, they were from The Gap. They came in white and light blue with the prettiest little lace and eyelet inset details—so delicate and classic, they looked far more expensive than they were. After my first pair, I was obsessed and immediately stocked up—four pairs of pajamas and three robes to be exact. How I wish I had at least doubled that. I would have paid double, they were that good.
A bad picture of the sleeve but gives you the idea of the detailing and featherweight cotton
Fast forward to now… and well, let’s just say they’re ready for retirement (aka completely worn out, beyond repair, but loved to pieces). I have 2 robes in semi retirement, still a little life left in them:) And here’s my dilemma—I cannot find anything remotely close to replacing them. PJ’s are an important part of my life, the minute I get home for the day, its the first thing I reach for, makes me feel so relaxed and cozy:)
So, I’m officially on the hunt. If you know of a brand that makes dreamy, 100% cotton, lightweight, super soft pajamas (nothing stiff, just loose and comfortable), please send your recommendations my way. I can only wear cotton and prefer lightweight cotton. I’m counting on you to hold the golden ticket to my new favorite PJs! I have bought several in the last year, none I love nearly as much.
Wishing you all a wonderful and cozy weekend….

I LOVE Lake pjs and nightgowns. They are 100% cotton and so comfy. They almost feel like sleeping in your husbands old tee shirt, soft, non binding. Can’t recommend enough, five stars! They may be a little heavier than Gaps but try a pair, really cute prints
OMG….I have been on the hunt for the same pajamas! I’ve spent sooo much time searching too! Please let me know what results you receive! I do like my Lake pj’s, but no pockets!
I love Lake pajamas. I have gifted them to both my daughter and daughter-in-law and even purchased a pair for my 2 year old grandson. The robes and pajamas are incredibly light and soft pima cotton. They wash beautifully.
I recently found Printfresh pajamas, robes, etc. They are mostly organic cotton and they get better and better as you wash them. They carry sizes, I believe, from XS-6x and are always changing up patterns, so definitely something for everyone. Great company that is doing what they can to be low-impact on the earth and fair to all the people that make their products possible.
I’ve been addicted to Marigot pj’s for over a decade, having discovered them in the cute little shop at The Gasparilla Inn. My dear mother and I bought each other a matching pair so they’re near and dear to my heart! They feel elegant and it’s such a treat to put them on each time! They come in classy prints and get better with age, lasting for years. Like us!
This is more of a lounge set than pjs but I cozy into them every day after work. It’s the Marshmallow V-Neck Lounge Set from Softies. I ordered the black and after putting it on I immediately ordered the Coco which is a blush pink. It’s the softest thing I’ve ever worn and whenever I’ve worn it people can’t stop touching it. I’m wearing it on my overseas flight in May!
I commented earlier but I do have a pair of 100% cotton comfortable pajamas I purchased from a women’s organization that is run by a great friend of mine in India. It is called Rahab’s Rope. You can go online to see what they have. All sales go to rescue women and girls from sex trafficking and house them and teach them a trade. They also have beautiful skirts, pants, dresses. It is worth checking out.
Tina,
Take a look at April Cornell web site. They have quite a few. I have only purchased tablecloths thru them, but they like Laura Ashley have the aesthetic that you are searching for.
Good Luck on your journey.

I second The Cat’s Pajamas! I bought them from a cute boutique. The pjs are the softest and most comfortable I’ve ever owned!

Look into Soma online. I wear their Cool Nights collection pieces, but they also have a 100% cotton line. Best of luck finding that perfect pair!

If it were me I would bring your loved pjs to a seamstress and have her make you a few pairs.
Same. As soon as I get home I’m in pajama mode, especially in the winter. have you tried lake?

Their dresses are fantastic too! I will try the PJs. Thanks. Ps, Printfresh is female founder and designer in business with her husband.
I am currently in love with Cozy Earth pajamas. I sleep hot, so they are cooling and comfy, not all cotton, but have bamboo. Am loving them!
These are my favorite also. bamboo pj’s from them as well as the most wonderful sheets!
Believe it or not, these from Amazon are really nice: https://www.amazon.com/Honypove-Cotton-Pajama-Sleepwear-NightWear/dp/B09DK79QPG/ref=sr_1_5_sspa?crid=1AHCMYR1SAHAE&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9._hpJn8nHIIQz0OJbGxUcqZ9-mdvBWD_LpQiHLB9MTLoipCasZcb-87c8bmX8aaIU6WaGhFHNkeNn-_PXUfHPBFDTglhJByTi9v3zR1daMHZ9Ciq49jd1Q9AgOXfOKOpBDAelLmK0FYHXt2OMrBVVspp_ztEGA0g1gOMFLtvtriqd9EzH3Jdk9a7ieZOJ9J1uDnNXxVLlXKqmRlNyT8I_2i_2etKpaciV_EAl2nqkD15K3235Q0vaFsSIbJFOPVOuj4lY5KnvVPtTnkkDnt_DNe5a7vOmaHGPNQQRcEXXC5Y.AcIJPRX9XeE8-laaJs405vGWaxVqxe9V4laNh-4SD1U&dib_tag=se&keywords=cotton%2Bpajamas%2Bfor%2Bwomen%2Bset&qid=1739551389&sprefix=cotton%2Bpaj%2Caps%2C174&sr=8-5-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1&psc=1
I like Eileen Fisher cotton pajamas. Very comfy and they wash well.
Love Lake pj’s! They are so comfy & have beautiful prints & colors!
Why not have new pajamas made to order with patterns drafted from the old ones, and. perfect cotton fabric that you choose?
Taleen makes beautiful, lightweight cotton women’s pajamas with feminine details.

Try Jijamas or Lake.
Eileen West still makes cotton batiste gowns.
J Crew factory has 100% cotton short sleeve pjs. Not sure you want shirt sleeves.
The only pjs I can wear are Soma Cool Nights. A true Godsend for hot menopausal mamas! They feel amazing on and really do keep you cooler all night.
I’m excited about your post! I am a PJ freak! And in need of new ones badly!!!! So maybe we will learn where they can be found! 🩷
