Love the new staffordshire dogs – chimney pattern and springtime bird box Elegant! Like new patio umbrellas too !!just in time for spring refresh
Please email info@enchantedhome.com so we can officially give you your prize!
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. We have a dinner party tonight and were invited to a party last night. I was supposed to go to a bridal shower today but will be unable to since its in the city and its just too much for one day. I like max 2 things a weekend…I LOVE my downtime. Funny, didn’t use to be that way, but boy have I changed! Plus I am babysitting Phillip for a few hours today and you know, this is the absolute highlight of my weekend. Parties don’t hold a candle next to being with him:)
We are settling into the new house and though there are still some boxes to sort through, we are for the most part done. We had workers here to work on odds and ends to get everything up to working order and its quite nice, now that that is pretty much done and the dust is settling. Now we can fully concentrate on our project, our forever home! Things are chugging along and I will be sharing all the updates in the next week or two.
We had an office of sick people at the warehouse/office so it was really making the rounds. Thankfully, I was spared. This week alone, I know 2 people who have Covid. Though it does not illicit the same reaction in me as it once did. Its a virus that is here to stay apparently.
1 SPRING FLOWERS! If you love flowers like I do, then step inside my little flower room and let me show you whats been happening in here. Fires I have to say this is my “therapy room”. Yes, flowers are my therapy. Purchased a bunch of gorgeous spring flowers this week as i had a few occasions on which to give them (and of course saved a stash for me). I am never as relaxed as I am then when I am working with flowers. I go into the zone and its quite cathartic. Here are some of the arrangements that I made-
These two went to 2 friends, one for the hostess of the party and the other for a friends birthday lunch
And here are the ones I kept for myself-
2 A GREAT NEW INEXPENSIVE BEAUTY PRODUCT Terrific alternative to foundation. This product is a new skin tint with 30 SPF. It adds a little bit of a glow that is subtle and enough to cover the skin in a very natural way. I use this and a little concealer where I may need it. It has a little glow but its very soft and just enough. I kept seeing that there was a lot of hype around this product and understand why. I love it and will absolutely be repurchasing! Plus its super inexpensive! It was sold out in many places but I finally found it at Ulta (or you can buy online)
3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Always so many beautiful and inspirational pictures to share!
4 PAINTED OUR FRONT DOOR BLACK! This door was white, as I had shared with you and I just kept seeing a glossy black door there. Nothing to me says classic architecture like a glossy black door with gold hardware. So we did it and I love it. Its so elegant. Now I want to add a few planters to the front door and would love your opinion on which you like!
Before-
After-
Now I want your opinion on which two planters to put (superimposed them with boxwood and white flowers just a concept) So keep in mind these are not 100% to scale but pretty close-
5 OUR INCREDIBLE 24″ EASTER EGGS AND A SNEAK PEEK AT OUR NEWEST COLLECTION The saddest part is that the new collection is literally due here the week of Easter. SO disappointed. There are many delays worldwide for a multitude of reasons and this makes me so sad as I am so in love with these eggs.
On a brighter note I placed 4 of our fabulous 24″ tole eggs in these stone planters with some pansies and could not love it more! We put whats left on special for $75.00! They have been flying out of there and we are down to just 4 or so. Click here to see them
Some of new collection which will be here on or about April 20th (these will be part of a presale that will be held next week)-
6 OLD TREND BAGS Wanted to let you know that these are back in stock! I had written about these bags as I think they are so great looking, super high quality and a great price point (they was sold out but they have just been restocked). This weekender below, I have used several times already and i just love it.
Reminds me so much of a Ralph Lauren bag I had from years ago, this is made with such great quality leather, beautiful details tons of storage with a bunch of removable travel pockets and to me, its the prefect weekender. Today for 3 days they are offering 30% off the entire siteincluding this bag which was just restocked. I am ordering one for a gift for a special someone’s birthday.
The other bag I got is the navy tote below which I love, its made of super durable leather and just a great classic, smart bag (great for work) as it holds a lot!
7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY I was supposed to have lunch with an old friend and someone I have met through her, was who visiting from out of town the other day. Our mutual friend had to cancel last minute so the two of us decided to meet anyway (the one from out of town) and you know those kinds of people that are just “high quality people”- intelligent, super interesting, curious, she is just all around such a great conversationalist about a hosts of things! Well that’s her, our lunch lasted 3 hours and I don’t think there was more than 20 seconds of silence. It was so enjoyable, wish she was closer! The first time we had met we really hit it off. Such an interesting story- she and her husband decided a little under 2 years ago to sell their home in the DC area, bid adieu to their family and friends and move to Portugal for a year. For context her husband was born in Europe but came here in his early teens. They had visited Portugal many times and loved it.
They wanted to test out something that they had always dreamed of, to see if it fulfilled their expectations. They decided to give it a year to determine if they could see living there permanently or not. Well, they did and its working, as they are still there. She regaled me with her many travel stories and said they have done more traveling in one year being there than she said they have the last 10 years. He recently sold his business, shes a professional pianist and teaches but they have loads of free time to travel (lucky them).
I must admit I walked away from our fun lunch totally daydreaming about what an incredible experience that is (I am a big dreamer to begin with so this really got me going). So what did I do? I started watching You Tube videos on it then really tortured myself with re watching maybe for the 12th time, Under The Tuscan Sun. OK…so now if you were let’s say under 50 and doing something like this would be totally financially feasible, would you? Could you? Or at any age for that matter? She is in her late 50’s and he is, I think about mid to late 60’s (both super active and look much younger than their age). OK, your turn to weigh in-

Lovely Sunday post. I love all your flowers, did you take courses or are you self taught? Your friends are so lucky! Love the weekender bag, very nice looking.
My husband now has a health issue which would preclude us from considering living abroad for any period of time but we have both dreamed about it for years. I think it would be such an incredible experience to at least try it for maybe 6 months. Life is short!
PS Black planters for sure, they are all beautiful but the black is so elegant. Reminds me of the beautiful homes in Mayfair in the U.K.
Hi Tina. Would you consider painting the entire wooded area of your front doorway black?
I think it would look absolutely smashing! I love the black planters.
Someone once told me she would like to live in various locations of her choosing for 3 months to gent a feel for a place. That I could do. But not any longer due to family connections.
Hi Tina,
Am wondering if you considered painting the trim around the door too ? It’d give the door a much larger , grander feel ? Also a Mail Slot for the door ? I have one & love the look. ( not that the postman uses it ) . Purely aesthetic !!
And I surprised myself by saying the blue / white pots. They make that area stand out more , with that hint of colour.
My husband and I travel abroad for about 6 weeks each year and we love it. That being said, the idea of living that far away from my three children and two grandchildren is a non-starter.
My friend just moved to Portugal and loves it. She said and I have heard many Americans are moving there, . Inexpensive, everyone speaks English, peaceful, safe…… sounds fab to me. However I’m older and single and want to be near family. Also, As crazy as America is now, I love my country.
