Hello! We will be out of town for a wedding so hoping this posts on time. Hard to believe summer is unofficially over, but truth be told I am so ready for fall. I LOVE fall and live for the clothes, the crisp air, the comfort foods the foliage and all that comes with it. Onward to my post this morning-

1 THE CUTEST GOLDENS!!! Every few months or so, I get a serious yearning to own a golden retriever puppy again It comes and goes but boy when it hits, it hits me hard. Then I really torture myself by going to visit the site of a favorite breeder, Majestic Manor Goldens  and droolover the cuteness. Before I know it I am thinking maybe two so they have each other:)

Then I snap out of it and as my husband and I have discussed, we think we may get another one, once we move back into our home. That is the plan but in the meantime I can still dream a little. Just in case you are in the market for a beautiful Golden Retriever, click here to be tempted!

2 A FEW NEW GREAT SWEATER/SCARF  PURCHASES!   I bought a few sweaters in the last few weeks as I am starting to take out cool weather clothing I live for sweater season and we have already had a few nights lately that were cool enough for a light sweater.

Anyone who knows me well knows that I live in tans, oatmeal, gray, winter white and black all winter long. They really do go the distance and for us here in NY, the cold weather lasts several months so I tend to spend more on my winter wardrobe. Have to say Quince offers amazing items at really great prices. Anything I have bought from them since discovering them, I have been thrilled with.

Found this one from Quince, its so yummy! It is just gorgeous and such nice quality, love that it has a subtle shape around the waist which I find very flattering.. It comes in a host of beautiful colors too.I am tempted to buy it in black as well.  Click here

And featured this a few weeks ago but its so good! I cannot wait till the weather gets a bit cooler so I can put it on. This is a dupe of the original, which I happen to own in another color and they re nearly identical, click here

And lastly I am a big scarf person, love this one as it can be worn as an actual wrap (which I often do especially when going out in the evening) but you can double it and use it as a stylish neck scarf with a jacket or not. Love the colors and style. Great value once again from Quince. Click here

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Such a beautiful and fresh roundup!

4 A STUNNING HOUSE TOUR You know how I love a great house tour and this one from The Potted Boxwood does not disappoint. So many pretty details to take in! There are many details here I personally loved and took note of. I see touches of the blue/rusts combination that I love done so well here too. I love a corner banquette, the moody lacquered library and how she infused color and pattern so beautifully without feeling too loud or overwhelming.

5 DELICIOUS BOURSIN CHICKEN DISH RECIPE I think most of us can attest to how absolutely delicious Boursin cheese is, however it also is an incredible ingredient for some amazing dishes as well. This one I tried last week and oh my word, it was sooo good! Not a single drop left. When you try it,you will get it. Bedsides the chicken, I served it with grilled zucchini and had a small portion of pasta which I used party of the sauce for. So I placed the pasta on the plate then put the chicken on top (my camera was no where to be found at that time)

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs) I used breasts and like to pound them thin, this is optional
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 of a large onion thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Pasta of your choice ( (I used a thin spaghetti)
  • 1 (5.2 oz) package Boursin cheese (Garlic & Fine Herbs)
  • ½ cup heavy cream (I used less about 1/4 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional, but delightful) I liked the addition of the dijon
  • Fresh thyme or parsley, for garnish

Pat the pounded chicken dry and season both sides with salt and black pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5–7 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

In the same skillet, reduce the heat a bit and add the minced garlic. Stir it around for about 30 seconds—just until it’s fragrant. Don’t let it burn (garlic is a diva, and she will turn on you!).

Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up all those golden bits from the bottom—flavor gold, friends. Add in the Boursin cheese and stir until it melts into a creamy, glorious sauce.

Stir in the heavy cream and Dijon mustard (if using). Let everything simmer gently for 3–5 minutes, until the sauce thickens just enough to coat the back of a spoon.

Place the chicken back into the skillet, spooning sauce over the top. Let it simmer for another 20 minutes or so. When totally done, you can leave it on the burner to rest at room temp and slowly simmer again when you are ready to serve. You can also keep it on warm in an oven well covered which is what I did then I add the pasta right when I was ready to serve.

Sprinkle with fresh thyme or parsley for that final restaurant-worthy flourish. Serve with mashed potatoes, pasta, or a warm crusty bread for dipping. (You will want to mop up every drop.)

6 A SNEAK PEEK AT TWO OF OUR STOCKINGS!! So we are doing the stockings!! We are beyond excited over this fabulous mini stocking needlepoint collection that will be here in October! We are bringing back two styles we did previously and have added 6 fabulous new styles (2 of them are below). Just wait till you see them. Here is a sneak peek at two that just came back from the sampling process. Suddenly I am really anticipating the holidays…this is an exceptional collection.

These will be the minis, the 6″ stocking which is amazing to use on trees, as a gift with maybe a gift card tucked in or set at each place setting at your holiday dinner table (which I loved and they were most definitely the talk of the table). We will hold a presale in approx 2-3 weeks.

We will be getting in a limited number of these stockings in each design. We do have the opportunity as well to rder them in a regular full sized stocking. Curious waht your thoughts are? Stay with the minis or offer the full size too?

7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY  If you could,  would you wish for a world where news is not 24/7 but instead say a morning and an evening edition. For me, this would be a dream. I admit to being a former news junkie, I have started to wean myself off of it, as its mostly quite depressing.

I sometimes feel my mood changing or feel a sense of heightened anxiety when I watch a story that is particularly heartbreaking or upsetting and it can really affect my mood/day. I think this 24/7 access can be damaging and there’s not much escaping it as its now on social media too. A double edged sword if you ask me. How about you? Are you a new junkie? Watch in moderation or perhaps not all all?

Beautiful post. Love the stockings! And the recipe sounds so good, may try tonight. I gave up on legacy news- they each have their agenda. I often see what’s going on via social media. Sometimes it’s just too much to take in- almost always bad news. I limit my intake!

Enjoy your weekly blog and your posts during the week. The mini stockings are fabulous and will elevate any gift or table!

I agree with you on the news, I’d like the news to be reported without opinions or editorials. I crave the days when we trusted the newscasters. 24/7 “news” is too political, divisive and frankly poor examples of what role models and leadership should be with the name calling and petty comments. Ugh

Goldens are beyond precious! So loving and loyal. Perhaps, when you’re ready for another, you might consider getting one from your breeder who is a little more mature and no longer breeding? Personally, I wouldn’t mind skipping the house training involved with having a puppy! 😂❤️🐾

Everything in this post is beautiful. I saved the Chicken recipe. It seems to be missing the instructions for the sliced onion. Do you saute with the chicken?

Tina, this has to be one of my favorite “Beyond the Curb” home tours. Thank you for sharing.
