Good Sunday morning everyone—incidentally, today’s my birthday! Another year around the sun…how lucky i am.

We were due to be in the city for the weekend, and I was there until I started feeling like I might be getting sick—at that point I wanted nothing more than to be home so was able to cancel our hotel and restaurant reservations and made a bee line for home. Maybe this is God’s way to telling me to slow down and take it easy. I woke up feeling pretty much the same. not a huge surprise given how many people I know (and have been around) seem to have something right now. I have been lucky, haven’t had anything in a while. While I  don’t feel terrible, maybe just a bad cold, I’m really hoping it doesn’t go any further than that.

But I woke up to the most wonderful Christmas gift…a 5-inch blanket of the most beautiful, white, glistening snow. I can’t even tell you—I literally morph into a little girl every time I see snow coming down, and we haven’t had much of it in the last years, so this was such a magical treat to wake up to on my special day.

With luck, I will feel better later and we’ll go out as a family later today—but for now I’m going to take the day to rest up and enjoy the view from my window. our city weekend will have to happen another time.

4 VILLA D’ESTE AT CHRISTMAS This is one my favorite hotels, located in Lake Como. It is absolutely dreamy and I never thought of going there during the Christmas season, but wow…this makes me want to plan a trip for next year!! Just amazing, so luxurious and elegant. 5 BEST NEW HOLIDAY MOVIES ON HALLMARK Are you a Christmas movie junkie? I go on binges and scour the website for any nee movies featuring a darling town in Vermont where romance blooms and small town charm abounds. Suffice to say, Hallmark has that corner of the market totally covered! I have a feeling today will be a binge watch of Christmas movies:)
