Hi there! Hope you had a great weekend. We were visiting friends in Florida so my Seven on Sunday is a day late. Fun visit, always nice to be a house guest:) Really counting down the days until spring. This winter really got to me. We got more snow and frigid days than we have had in many years. I am ready for that smell of freshly cut green grass and birds! Lots of new things on the horizon, and will be sharing them as they come into play. Onward to my post……

2 A BEAUTIFUL NEW HOTEL IS SOON OPENING IN PALM BEACH The Venita which is part of the Oetker Hotel chain will soon be making its Palm Beach debut and I cannot wait to try it. Looks right up my alley, more of a boutique hotel, beautifully located and nothing like staying in a brand new hotel! Click here for info

4 A RECIPE YOU NEED TO MAKE! These scalloped potatoes were so delicious! I did not put the mozzarella but did add the cheddar and they were heavenly good. I also used 1/2 cup cream and it seemed to make no difference. I paired this with a simple grilled chicken with a chopped salad over it and a side of asparagus. This was the hit of the meal!
5 KEEPING UP WITH OUR RENOVATION A lot of people ask me on Instagram why they never see any updates on our renovation on my Instagram account. 6 A FANTASTIC NEW SERIES *TO US Upon my dads recommendation we started watching The Night Manager, it is SO good! Intriguing story line in the most glamours locations, cannot recommend highly enough. So good and addicting, there are two seasons (and hopefully more coming). It feels a bit “Bondish” in some ways.
7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY I don’t know about you, but I feel equally fascinated and terrified by AI. I use it in a light, practical way, yet the more I read about how quickly it’s advancing, the more unsettled I become. Some of what experts say it will soon be capable of feels almost surreal — even frightening — especially when it seems to blur the line between human control and machine intelligence, like the movies we’ve watched for years. My feelings are very mixed, and I’m genuinely curious how you feel about it.

Thanks for the heads up on the beautiful new hotel in Palm Beach. We go down there a few times a year and in fact am planning a trip for my 50th bday with friends in Sept. Will check it out! Love the new jewelry pieces and I am terrified of AI. My nephew works in the field and his forecasts are alarming to me. I feel its moving just a bit too fast!
Hi Tina! I was completely taken in by The Night Manager. Loved every episode and actors Hugh Laurie, Tom Hiddleston and Olivia Colman. The scenery is gorgeous. There will be another series according to a BBC podcast. John LeCarre, a pseudonym, real name David Cornwell, wrote The Night Manager. His son is now the producer of the series. Keeping his Dad’s memory alive!

I’ve been following your Reno on your new Instagram account and it’s been so fun watching the progress. When is the expected finish date? Hope you will be able to enjoy it when the weather is nicer!
I too recently discovered and totally enjoyed The Night Manager! The acting is excellent. I use AI sparingly. A few years ago I was privileged to collaborate with The Institute for the Future and their outlook on AI is beginning to materialize. They indicated that people will fall in love with AI like members of the family. A colleague with young kids (sub elementary age at the time) suggested this would come true based on her kids reactions to greeting Alexa. The ITFTF’a foreshadowing is actually materializing today. It makes me sad to think how people could fall in love with AI, what are their circumstances and what humans are failing them. Seeing a few countries ban social media for its harmful impact on children is encouraging, but it’s us parents teaching them about AI, assisted devices and social media. I pray when my time comes to be a Grandmother that I will be a great role model for human caring, human touch, being present and mimimizing my time on my phone, yet knowing enough about apps and social pressure to not be out of touch and ideally be a source of wisdom and confidance for them. Thanks so much for the thought provoking discussion.
