Hi, as they say, better late than never! Oh boy this month feels like such a blur. Between my  birthday, lots of obligations, a little travel, working, starting a renovation, getting a late start buying holiday gifts, decking my halls, starting to pack up….its been a lot! I am so happy most of that is behind me and for the next few days it will be about spending time with my family and getting to enjoy some much needed down time. I am grateful for so many things- my family, friends, good health, my amazing readers and customers, but it is Phillip who has been the greatest gift of all! He is such a blessing, and has given my husband and I so much joy. It makes the stress all worth it, getting to celebrate his first Christmas in this house!

Christmas decorating was a wee bit more challenging this year when I realized many of my things were already packed and moved to storage so I relied heavily on a mix of faux and fresh greenery (mostly fresh), got a little creative and actually very happy with how everything turned out. I went with a blue/white theme this year and used our beautiful chinoiserie gift wrap for all my gifts. Thankfully had a few reams which goes a long long way! Staring tomorrow night will be a GREAT time to stock up on ornaments, gift toppers, gift wrap and holiday tress for next year (will all be 50% off for four days).

This will be our last Christmas here before our big renovation gets fully underway (moving out late Jan). We will be out at least a year possibly longer. So, its full steam ahead!

So here are snippets of my Christmas decor this year. Last Christmas before our big renovation!

Of course my front door was among my favorite things this year, love it so much I may just keep it up a while!

Only thing that made it prettier was a light snow we got the other day…such a pretty sight to wake up to

I needed something simple and maintenance free for my huge jars so these white sticks while not the most exciting thing on the planet did the trick!

Love our white furry deer which will be back next year

My blue and white tree and all the chinoiserie wrapped gifts

Birthday flowers did double duty this year! Got them to last almost 2 weeks (by keeping them in a very cold part of the house) Lillies blooming right on cue

Love my mantle which I used lots of fresh greens on, placed some pretty pearly ornaments and called it a wrap

Lots of blue and white planters filled with lots of beautiful white holiday flowers

Chinoiserie gift wrap with pretty blue and ivory ribbon was the gift wrap theme this year….

Adding simple adornment likes some fresh greens or one of our darling gift toppers is a perfect finishing touch

Our cozy little study/library, didn’t do much but added some of our beautiful faux pine cone topiaries and of course some fresh flowers:)

And that is a wrap for Christmas 2024! I have to be honest,  I am so happy (and relieved) that today we just get to have a wonderful, relaxing day at home, spent with family, cooking, reminiscing and celebrating the magic of the season. I felt more stressed than usual this year (being in between houses, etc…) so I am thrilled it’s in my rear view mirror now!

Onward to a great day and hopefully a wonderful new year in 2025. Wishing you all the merriest Christmas! Hug those you love just a little tighter because as we have all learned this year, life is a precious gift and can be incredibly fragile. Miss my mom being with us more than words can express but know shes watching over us.

My heart goes out to all those missing a loved one this year, too many families feeling that pain, lots of families separated (we are missing my sister and family this year)/ I am not going to complain one iota because we have our health and we are HERE. The gift I am most grateful for however is my precious little Phillip. He has sparked such joy in our family, and I just know my mothers spirit is within him. Until next time, Merry Christmas!

Our big 50% off all ornaments, gift wrap and decorative trees has started!

Christmas is stressful but it also wonderful to be with friends and family. And to be oh so grateful for what we have. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and the Happiest of New Years, love your blog, first thing I read every Sunday morning,

Hope you had a Merry Christmas! What needs to be renovated in this house? It looks lovely!

Wishing you and your family all the best the holiday season brings, happiness and a healthy 2025.

Must add a question that I have been meaning to ask; why the renovation in the new home? It is so beautiful as is. Please keep us posted throughout, as I can’t imagine the improvements you are going to do to make it more splendid than it is now.

thank you! going to do a post on it soon, as things get underway will start a new series on the renovation….

Absolutely stunning! I loved the view from the top of the stairs because the entry looks so beautiful. Also enjoyed the coordinating paper. I might try it next year. Sure would save the stress of buying so many different papers. Have a beautiful New Year!
