Hello, coming up for air! Wow this was quite a whirlwind of a holiday. Certainly enjoyable, especially with my dad here and other visiting relatives prior to Christmas but this little elf is exhausted (and has a scratchy throat). Praying its not turning into anything.  The highlight was getting to celebrate little Phillips first Christmas, the joy that little guy brings to all of us is unmatched. The cutest thing was him taking in the gift giving/unwrapping frenzy that took place on Christmas morning. He took it all in observing and curious. He was the highlight of the day!

Our holiday was filled with lots of regaling stories and memories (many of my mom), lots of great and decadent foods (time to get back to healthy eating), game playing, fireside chats, football blaring, endless cooking and meal prep sessions, more loading and unloading of a dishwasher that I can remember in recent times, gift wrapping marathons, managing my business, etc…I know, many of you get it!

We were due to leave for PB but I needed a few days to decompress. Just to sit and do nothing. This year,  I think because we are also preparing to move in about 5-6 weeks, felt extra overwhelming. I tend to be very detail oriented with some OCD tendencies and that does not bode well for someone preparing for the holidays. In the end, I got it all done and knew I would. But let me tell you, that Christmas night, after the last dish was washed, sitting down with my feet up in front of the fire was a moment I waited weeks for!

I say it every year but I WILL be an early bird planner next year. This last minute everything is for the birds:)

With all I had going on, I was not able to take many pictures but here are just a few highlights I was able to capture….

After Phillip, this above was the highlight of my holiday:) not the football part but at that point I was willing to watch anything!

A few polls just to get your take on the holidays-

I know for me, things will start earlier next year. At least my gift buying. I will likely start to decorate right after Thanksgiving as many do. I have a friend who is a master planner and starts thinking about Christmas literally after Labor Day. That is a cue for her to start thinking about gifts, her family Christmas card and decor. By November, she is pretty much done. I will take a page out of her book!

Love that Christmas Day is the first day of Christmas! We celebrate the 12 days of Christmas! 🎄

Those desserts look like Lady M crepe cakes…..they are fabulous……all looked beautiful Tina!

Are you moving again. Your home is so amazing. I enjoyed my ten grandchildren so much. They are getting older and even better if you can imagine

What type of wallpaper is the gold flower in your living room? It looks beautiful in your home? Thank you!

I owned a home in Oyster Bay, NY and your home is very reminiscent of that home.. Oh what memories! It was heaven to decorate, especially at Christmas. I have downsized and miss my huge family home. My current home is still fun to decorate, but since it’s smaller, it’s just not as much fun.

Your grandchild is precious.
