Good evening! I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend. Who else is in disbelief that it’s already August 2nd? Ran into CVS yesterday and theres already a HALLOWEEN aisle!
Unfortunately, WordPress has been experiencing some pretty major hiccups. I believe they’re in the middle of a massive update, which has affected both my ability to publish blog posts and, unfortunately, your ability to leave comments.
The good news is that it appears the posting issue has finally been resolved, so hopefully this makes it to your inbox right on time. We are still working on the comment issue and hoping that gets resolved very soon.
It’s been a busy weekend over here. We had dinner plans on Friday night, and last night we went to such a fun party with a White Lotus theme. We were greeted with leis and tropical cocktails, the theme music was playing, there were fire dancers—you name it! They really went all out, and it was a fabulous evening. Needless to say, I’m dragging a little today. Tonight we’re planning on a family dinner, and then I’m hoping to get home and watch The Devil Wears Prada 2. I’m looking forward to seeing if it lives up to the original.
Anyway, enough about what’s happening in my little corner of the world. I hope whatever you’ve been up to this weekend has been fun, relaxing, and filled with a little summer enjoyment.
1 A NEW FAVORITE TOTE BAG I LOVE this bag!!!! Saw someone with it meant to ask where she got it but she was gone. Thanks to my excellent sleuth work I found candlelit me tell you this is a bag everyone needs. Big enough for pool, beach and travel but chic enough to bring to your office or run errands with. I love that it’s not stiff but flexible raffia and the ribbon detailing makes it super stylish…then add the monogram and you have yourself one great looking to tote!
Super roomy, love the monogram option and what a great gift! I could not be happier with this purchase! I actuality just ordered two more as gifts and found out today they are on sale!
2 INFLUENCING/CONTENT CREATION AS A COLLEGE DEGREE? Yes, its true! I did a double take but this is where we are headed! I heard one of administrators who helped to create this major (technically it’s content creation) on a podcast. She made a pretty decent argument for it but to me, spending all that college money on your kid to go an become an influence?
The one thing she said that I do agree with is that the market is saturated with influencers and brand creators and its harder than ever to make a name for yourself as a breakthrough star. I don’t know though, I still cannot wrap my brain around college tuition and walking away with a degree essentially as an influencer.

5 NEWLY REOPENED HOTEL DANIELI (FOUR SEASONS) IN VENICE! The first time I went to Venice was about 15 years ago, it was like walking into a storybook. Our days were filled with lunches we picked up and ate by the canal, visiting the Venetian glass factories, exploring old cathedrals, taking the gondola around, enjoying incredible meals and staying at the infamous Hote Danieli. Now it has entered a new chapter, The Four Seasons purchased it and its’ now open. It looks incredible and has me daydreaming about planing a trip there again. Any one going?

6 ONE OF THE MOST INSPIRING STORIES I HAVE READ ABOUT IN A WHILE! 93 year old who lives in the Czech Republic has spent the last 50 years or so painting her way through her beautiful little town. Her art can be seen on many many homes in her town, where she takes her palette and paint brush and paints away. Its a win/win, shes doing something these lives and beautifying her own neighborhood! Proof you are never ever too old to follow your dreams.
7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY The other day I was reading soemthign and the designer that they profiled was saying its healthy to hve a guilty pleasure with decorating. To be passionate about making your home special and always evolution. I asked myself what my guilty pleasure is and of course blue and white, chinoiserie and fresh flowers are no brainers. How about you?
