I have loved the Lily of the Valley plates since first look! Now’s my chance before they sell out! Your post today was delicious…literally and figuratively!

I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful weekend! Ours has been a fun one. We got to celebrate two friends’ birthdays, was in the city and its always such a treat. There were a few little hiccups along the way, but we all know life is never without them—you just keep marching on!

We also got to have Philip sleep over for the night, which is always so much fun and incredibly entertaining. He is almost 2 and its such a precious age. Little Sophia is adjusting to life in this big world and to an active big brother!  Today we’re getting in a little pickle ball and might be having a family dinner later, which to me sounds like the perfect Sunday.

OK, onward we go to this Sunday’s post-

1 IF I OWNED A NYC APARTMENT! I have to admit going into the city as much as I am now, it has me dreaming all over again about living there. I loved living there when we were newlyweds right up until my oldest was about 1. I honestly left kicking and screaming but both of our families talked us into “moving to the burbs” as they felt it was the right place to raise a family.

I will also admit for nearly a year I got in my car at least 4 times a week and continued on with my NYC routine as though I still lived there, I wasn’t thrilled with the move but eventually met many wonderful people and it started to feel like home. Doesn’t mean I can’t dream about what my apartment would look like. So here is what I came up with-

4 THE BEST OF RALPH LAUREN Ralph Lauren  is the gold standard in my book..no one does it better! Ralph Lauren hosted this elegant dinner for Nantucket Design week and it could not have been more perfect! Love every single element, and of course the blue and white was the cherry on top.

5 FABULOUS NYC APT TOUR Speaking of beautiful NYC apartmentsloved and so enjoyed this elegant and sophisticated NY apt. A vibe I love for NYC! I love how she embraced color, you know I am a sucker for lacquered anything and her bedroom felt like a dreamy perch way high up.  And that kitchen….pretty special All of it just lovely!

6 SOMETHING YOU NEED TO MAKE I made this many times but prepared it the other day to take to someones house  and it was the hit of our dinner. Easy, super flavorful and it uses summers best produce. It could easily be a meal especially if served with a protein on top but makes a beautiful and delicious side dish too! Hope you are enjoying my new format for an easy to print/save recipe.

7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY So I have started listening more to podcasts (on my many frequent drives into the city) and I caught the last 20 min of one and it was so interesting, I need to go back and find out the name so I can share. It was just a broad conversation about how people evolve in their state of happiness and what defines happiness and satisfaction in life changes with each decade.
What made us happy at 20 (going out to the latest restaurant or club late, having a huge circle of friends, socializing non stop,  is not really wast defines happiness at 40, 50 0r 60 and beyond. It was really thought provoking and so interesting.
It asked its listeners to rate the current state of happiness in their life and that if it was below a 7, to pick a single word that they felt they most need to work on and to make it a goal for one week straight to diligently make a concerted effort and to focus on that particular word (examples- more peace, more balance, more exercise, more family time, more self care, etc…. OK your turn. If I can find the name of the podcast I will certainly share it.

This, too, was “the Gold standard!” O, my…that “dream apt” filled w/porcelain pumpkins… ❤️ TY

Love the new recipe format. And, I’m ready to move into “your” City apartment! Beautiful.

Loved your “dream” New York apartment. I was surprised that you did not include your vision of a terrace and hope that you will create that in the future.

I love your NYC dream apartment. You are certainly at the right time of life for it and for travel. Time passes so quickly.

Love the dream apartment. It could easily transfer to dream home for most. The living room and dining room were so elegant and were my favorite rooms. The recipe format is great. It was hard to translate your old method to a printable document.

I love the new recipe format. It makes it so easy to print! This recipe looks delicious!

Can’t wait for the Tuesday presale on the pumpkins. I have many in the greens and rusts but love the new gold and whites!

I’m glad you are happy that you moved to the suburbs. My husband and I chose not to, and stayed in the city (not NY, San Francisco) and raised our two children here. Pluses and minuses for both choices!
