Hello and happy Sunday. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday. We are taking Phillip to a little Halloween party today, it will be so fun seeing him in his first official Halloween costume (cutest policeman) and we had a fun group boy voyage dinner for friends moving away, last night. Today, hope to get into the city. Fall is my absolutely favorite time for NYC and I get in as often as possible which with the job I am doing brings me in often. No where like it.

We are gearing up for the holidays over here, pumpkins have been flying out the door and this collection was by far and away the most successful ever. We cannot wait to get our ornaments in, more stockings, our fabulous new rechargeable lamps with all the new fall/winter colors have arrived and we have the prettiest holiday linens coming. It is all getting me in the mood for a festive season ahead. Though to be honest, though I love decorating for the holidays, I haven’t quite felt the normal enthusiasm because I am not “home” but I will make the most of it and do what I can. OK,  on we go to my post this weekend-

1 FUN NYC PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS Well, the messy behind the scenes part (minor construction, paint, carpentry, electrical and plumbing) is just about behind us and what a great threshold to reach. It kept me busy most of the summer so to start seeing this project shape up is a wonderful feeling. We have yet to move anything in, and just started the lighting install, after we get the entire place professional cleaned, the furniture, rugs, etc..will slowly start trickling in!

This is going to be a fabulous playroom

and just look at the beautiful lacquered pieces we  had made from Rail and Stile! Click here to see their incredible work

2 FUN GIFT IDEA And, yes that includes to yourself. I thought these were such fun, went to a function and these were the favors (one soup pack) And it was good! So I found this gift box and not only do I love the idea but think this is such fun as a gift. Great for that person who has it all, something practical but very unique.

4 A STUNNING NEW MURAL FROM PAUL MONTGOMERY Fell in love with this scenic mural which is new from Mural Resources. A fantastic alternative to very expensive hand painted murals. This is so gorgeous, my mind started racing with the idesa! Love it for a dining room or powder room.

Then I created it in 2 rooms, love these!

5 CHRISTMAS IN THE COTSWOLDS  You will not want to miss this video for the most charming virtual fairytale getaway! This video brings out the dreamer in me like no other. this is better than any movie I have seen lately. Between the fairytale towns, thatched cottages, intimate inns, charming restaurants and shops….what is there not to love! One Christmas I am determined to get there! Its right out of a Currier and Ives scene.

I have had Estelle Manor on my list of places to visit for a year. or so, and this video temped me to jump on the next plane!

6 OUR INCREDIBLE GIFT TOPPERS As crazy as it might sound, there are only 8 weeks left till Christmas. Hearing it makes me weak at the knees, not going to lie. Every year I vow to start everything super early but its yet to happen so I am just not saying it anymore. It if happens, it happens. One thing I know that is a sure thing is that my gifts are always among the prettiest.

We restocked our incredible gift toppers aka small ornaments and they have never. looked better! These make the most beautiful finishing touch for a gift, and not just for the holidays. Plus they double as a wonderful small ornament.  They are sold in boxes of four.

7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY/IF I EVER OPENED A RETAIL STORE  Have I dreamt of doing many many times? Yes! But, do I also realize that the retail landscape as we know it has changed significantly, also yes. The thing is because of that, there are less and less beautiful boutique type stores for home furnishings. Even in NYC, so many of them have disappeared, so incredible sad. I used to love going into Treillage (Bunny Williams’s shop), Gracious Home among others. All closed!

But I know its almost an impossibility that this would happen but it sure is fun to dream! Due to the nature of the size of our items, doing popups is also not possible thought we have been asked many times. Too bad. So that’s when a little dreaming comes in. I dreamt up what my little retail shop might look like, and did I mention it would aso have a beautiful charming cafe? Step inside…

And a poll question about shopping retail vs ecommerce/online

And did I mention that when you are done with your shopping, we have a delightful little cafe!

I love to find all/most of my things/furniture in person ~ fall in love with them & take them home!! When I can’t~ , I do love Enchanted Home and Chairish!

I would love your shop!! Would make a special trip to NYC from Oklahoma just to visit it.

I so miss shopping in person and seeing products and settings to enhance my overactive imagination.! Your “dream” store is truly enchanting!

Your shop would be a delightful experience!! I relaxed just lookng at the pictures!

Add a cafe in your shop. I love the cafe in Terrain, Westport, CT. There was a cafe in a design shop in Manchester VT. It closed but we had a delicious lunch there when staying at the Equinox.

You have such beautiful products if you ever opened a retail store it would be a huge success! I have ordered many ginger jars and accessories from your online shop over the years. I think it is much nicer to see items in person. I do support local businesses.

I am a big fan of your taste and products and have bought many. Though I’d love to go to Long Island to see some of your items in person to get the scale and color match with other items I own. I love Juliska’s flagship store in Charleston, but also
Shop at the 1 local home goods boutique store here in Cincinnati that carries their line, and i Order from Juliska online. Perhaps that’s an avenue to pursue? Or create a boutique space within your warehouse?! A girl can dream!

Swooning over those lacquered pieces, thanks for the intro to that company!
I love your concept of a shop- do it! You live once and honestly (in Chicago area) I cannot think of one upscale store that has even clsoe to the offerings that you do, so I have no doubt it would be a huge success. I would even travel to shop there and then you add that cafe! Home run Tina.
Those toppers are adorable, what a beautiful way to wrap a gift.

We (my employees and I) also long for a retail space–and I must say, your version pictured is EXACTLY what we would want. But after running a Trade Showroom (25 years ago) I understand all too well how difficult a brick and mortar can be. We were just on the cusp of on-line shopping and our vendors protected us fiercely. Sadly, no longer.
But a girl can dream…

I love your AI creations. Can you share what program you use for creating such beautiful rooms? We are building a house and it would be great fun to create a few rooms. Yours are inspirational!
