Hi friends, hope you are doing well. Well, I am very slowly on the mend, but it’s been a long haul. Being home for 11 days is no joke and getting old! Think I have finished all of Netflix, Prime and a good chunk of You Tube:)<\/p>\n

Though I was in cold, dreary gray NY, in my mind, \u00a0I was in sunny, warm(er) Palmetto Bluff. I would have loved to have been able to recuperate there. Hopefully very soon! I no longer have any Covid symptoms but its turned into a head cold, so very stuffy. I am nursing myself to getting better and hopefully early this week will slowly get back on my feet.<\/p>\n

I read and hear constantly about the uptick of so many things going around, I am going to be very mindful when I am out and about again about exposing myself. Don’t want a repeat! Anyhow, onwards to my post this Sunday….<\/p>\n

A GREAT SERIES FOR ALL FRANCOPHILES!\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Chances are many of you have already seen this but I had such fun going down a rabbit hole and spending hours watching the painstaking restoration of a beautiful French chateau. A great series on You Tube, that really helped the hours pass being home sick. It was a Godsend!<\/p>\n

Makes an awfully good argument for wallpaper and<\/em> fabric! As I\u00a0daydream about my\u00a0bedroom when our renovation is complete,\u00a0I am thinking of ideas and the\u00a0first one is quite inspiring. Of\u00a0course love the colors, soft blues are my\u00a0personal fave for a bedroom. 6\u00a0ASPARAGUS GRUYERE \u00a0 TART \u00a0<\/strong>I forgot how insanely good this is until I made it around Christmas time. It is\u00a0really easy and oh so delicious. It can easily be made as part of a meal with a big salad. A perfect luncheon idea as well, I \u00a0got the original\u00a0recipe long ago from a friend, but when I\u00a0couldn’t find it, I found a nearly\u00a0similar one at Hip Foodie Mom. This is GOOD!<\/p>\n

For the tart<\/h4>\n

  • 1 to 2<\/span> sheets frozen puff pastry<\/span>defrosted<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 1 to 2<\/span> tablespoons<\/span> honey dijon mustard with balsamic vinegar<\/span> or plain dijon mustard<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 2 to 3<\/span> cups<\/span> Gruyere cheese<\/span> freshly grated (or use any white cheese you like)<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 1 1\/2<\/span> pounds<\/span> medium asparagus\u00a0<\/span>trimmed*<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 1<\/span> tablespoon<\/span> extra virgin olive oil<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Salt and pepper<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

    Additional toppings (optional if you wish)<\/h4>\n

    • Fresh lemon zest<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Balsamic glaze<\/span> when serving<\/span><\/li>\n

        Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Prep a parchment paper lined baking sheet and place the defrosted puff pastry sheets on the baking sheet, (if using TWO: overlap them just an inch in order to connect them.) Using a sharp knife, lightly score the pastry dough 1 inch in from the edges all around to mark a rectangle. Then, using a fork, pierce the dough all around in the center, not the edges. Bake the pastry dough until lightly golden, for about 12 to 15 minutes.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

        Remove the pastry shell from the oven, let it sit for a minute or two and then spread on the honey dijon mustard with balsamic vinegar (or dijon mustard if that’s what you have) and then sprinkle on the Gruyere cheese.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

        *Trim the bottoms of the asparagus spears to fit crosswise inside the tart shell. Arrange them in a single layer over the Gruyere cheese, alternating ends and tips. Sprinkle on the peas if using. Brush or lightly drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

        Bake until the spears are tender, for about 20 to 25 minutes. Watch your tart while in the oven! Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes. Add additional toppings like the lemon zest to bright<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
