Morning! I had mentioned I was going to start a series once a week (or two) where I pick a topic that’s on top of mind, and open up a conversation with you on how I am feeling about a particular subject. I have several topics that I would love to open up the floor to and look forward to interacting and engaging with you, on a\u00a0 more personal level, a bit of a departure from beautiful interiors and designs! Good to change things up a bit and that’s one of my goals for 2025, thinking, doing and creating out of the box.<\/p>\n

Because I don’t have pictures that necessarily correlate with this post, I am just insert pretty pictures that add a little eye candy:)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So, today’s post feels a little personal, and I think it\u2019s one that might strike a chord with many of us\u2014perhaps even divide us a bit. I\u2019m putting myself out there to share something I\u2019ve been reflecting on lately.I recently had a big birthday\u2014and when I say big, I mean BIG<\/em>. I turned 60. Even now, I find it hard to say those words: I\u2019m 60 years old. Honestly, it still doesn\u2019t feel real.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

At first, it didn\u2019t fully sink in. My birthday week was filled with wonderful mini celebrations with family and friends\u2014a whirlwind of love, laughter, and fun. I was so caught up in the joy of it all that I didn\u2019t have time to really process the number. But over the past week, the gravity of 60 has hit me like a ton of bricks.<\/p>\n

I want to be clear: I feel incredibly fortunate to be here, to celebrate another year around the sun, to have my amazing family and close friends by my side, and to be in good health. I know not everyone gets to say that, and I don\u2019t take it for granted\u2014not for one second<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

But here\u2019s the thing: Inside, I feel like I\u2019m 40. Truly! I have a high energy level, constantly have new ideas running through my head, and still believe I can tackle big dreams\u2014whether that\u2019s creating a clothing line, writing a screenplay, or even buying a ranch in Montana (been on our bucket list for years, probably will never happen but maybe rent one for a summer). Honestly, nothing feels off-limits. Sure, my riding and skiing days might be behind me, but just about everything else still feels possible.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I believe that positivity is a huge part of living well as we age, and keeping that belief alive is so important. I feel so grateful to be in a phase of life where I get to enjoy my family in new ways. My three sons are my greatest joy, and now, as many of you know, one of them is married and has given us the sweetest gift of all, little Philip.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Philip has brought so much light and happiness into our lives. My husband and I light up like rays of sunshine whenever we see him. He\u2019s enriched our lives in ways I can\u2019t even express. That said, I\u2019m still getting used to the word grandmother. I accept that now I am a grandmother\u2014because the joy far outweighs the label.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I know that as time marches on, I\u2019ll come to terms with this new decade. I\u2019ll embrace it and (hopefully) defy the odds by showing that life at 60 can still be full of adventure, dreams, and possibilities. After all, when many of my older friends would comment on their age, I would always says “it’s just a number” so now it’s time for me to practice what I preach!<\/p>\n

I\u2019m curious: How do you feel about milestone birthdays? Do they hit you as hard as this one has hit me, or do you take them in stride? I\u2019d love to hear your thoughts, advice, or even your favorite ways to celebrate this phase of life.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
