Good morning! I hope everyone is doing well. Time for another Let\u2019s Talk, and I have to say, these have quickly become some of my favorite posts to write.<\/p>\n

Obviously, I\u2019m all over the map when it comes to the subjects we tackle here. Sometimes we talk about things that are quite serious, and other times\u2026well, let\u2019s just say they\u2019re are just fluff. Today definitely falls into the latter category!<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know about you, but I used to be an avid reader. Unfortunately, my crazy schedule doesn\u2019t leave me nearly as much time to read as I\u2019d like, and when I finally do find the time, I\u2019m normally so exhausted that I fall asleep after a few pages. I try. I try, but perhaps when my schedule is not so crazy, I will carve out more time.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

That said, I recently started Strangers by Belle Burden, which was at the top of many bestseller lists. I used to belong to a book club, and when I heard they were reading it, I figured I\u2019d give it a try. So far, I\u2019m really enjoying it and finding it quite interesting. One day, when I stop working, I will certainly rejoin my reader friends:)<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

These days, any free time I do have tends to be spent doing deep dives via computer or iPad into anything and everything design related\u2014flooring, shower ideas, plumbing fixtures, wallpaper\u2026you name it. Shocking, I know! I think about them day, morning and night (and often have visions of wallpaper and porcelain trims dancing through my head at 2am).<\/p>\n

But my husband and I also really enjoy finding a great movie<\/span> or series<\/span> to watch together. That’s what I consider the best and most relaxing downtime. To sit or lie downa nd be entertained without having to move a muscle. There\u2019s something so nice about settling in at the end of the day with something you\u2019re really looking forward to watching.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I have to admit, I\u2019m not a huge fan of many of the movies<\/span> being made these days. I often find myself going back to old favorites or movies<\/span> I\u2019ve already seen and loved. Series<\/span>, on the other hand, have given us quite a few winners. And the best part about a great series<\/span> is that it\u2019s the gift that keeps on giving! You can spend weeks watching it and never have to endure that dreaded nightly ritual of scrolling through every streaming platform trying to figure out what on earth to watch.<\/p>\n

Please tell me I\u2019m not the only one who does this.<\/p>\n

You start scrolling. Then you watch a preview. Then another. Then you switch apps. Then another preview. Thirty minutes later you\u2019re so tired of looking for something to watch that you decide to watch\u2026nothing. Off to bed!<\/p>\n

So today I want to know: How do you find great movies<\/span> and series<\/span>? And more importantly, what have you watched lately that you absolutely loved?<\/p>\n

A few series<\/span> we\u2019ve really enjoyed: (there are many more, these just came to mind)<\/p>\n

Movies<\/span> are another story because I could probably sit here and name 30 or 40 ! But these are some longtime favorites:<\/p>\n

And let\u2019s face it\u2014pretty much anything Nancy Meyers has made!<\/p>\n

Give me a great storyline, beautiful cinematography, wonderful music that stirs your soul and gorgeous, take-me-away scenery, and I\u2019m happy. And yes, that scenery can absolutely include the bustling streets of Manhattan. I am always a sucker for a movie<\/span> that beautifully features New York City. I could added so. many more to these lists but need to keep it short and concise, these were the ones that came to mind that make me actually feel something.<\/em><\/p>\n

I think you probably get the picture. No action movies<\/span> and no sci-fi for me, nothing with blood, gore or shooting……thank you very much! (my husband would beg to differ)<\/p>\n

Which brings me to one of life\u2019s little mysteries: How on earth are we supposed to find the really good stuff?<\/em><\/p>\n

There are more streaming services than ever and presumably countless websites and apps devoted to telling us what\u2019s new, yet somehow it feels harder than ever to find something really worth watching. There are simply too many choices. Sometimes we spend half an hour searching, get completely overwhelmed and end up watching nothing at all and calling it a night:)<\/p>\n

So today, I am all ears.<\/p>\n

If there is a series<\/span> you absolutely loved\u2014or a movie<\/span> that sounds like it might be up my alley based on the favorites above\u2014I would LOVE to hear about it.<\/p>\n

One of the things I enjoy most about this blog is the opportunity for all of us to share things with one another. I have discovered so many wonderful things through your recommendations over the years, and I\u2019m always grateful for your fantastic feedback.<\/p>\n
