Good morning! Hope everyone had a wonderful and enjoyable weekend. Finally our heat wave broke last night…..and outside we went to alas enjoy a beautiful summer evening! I love the look of a delicate slipcovered chair, whether it be an occasional chair in a living room, a set of dining chairs or a grouping in a living room. There is something about the crisp linen slipcovers that just does something for me. I always used to think of them as being exclusively for country french homes, shabby chic, and romantic cottage styles but slipcovers have come a long long way. They have moved well beyond the cute and charming and have crossed over big time into highly sophisticated and elegant territory.<\/center>
 They work as beautifully in very traditional homes as they do in smaller cottage charmers and are found in even more transitional style homes. I also like seeing this look against rich warm woods. It is an elegant look and still brings a certain degree of texture and contrast into the room. I am considering incorporating this look into my own home somewhere somehow, maybe even on a small delicate French chair for my bathroom. There are also many variations  on how to finish slipcovers, from ties to buttons to pleats and darts….there are endless numbers of possibilities. So today is all about the sophisticated look of using slipcovers. What do you think? Is it a look you like? I always like to know!<\/center><\/p>\n
