Hi friends, I cannot believe it’s been one year since I lost my beloved Teddy. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about him, and often smile or laugh thinking of his funny antics. He is so missed and there are so many reminders about what a huge part\u00a0 of our daily life he really was. The house has not felt the same since nor has coming home at the end of the day, seeing his eager face so happy to see me:)<\/p>\n

Always the first to greet me when I walked in, he was a full time sous chef and happily took care of any food that fell to the wayside, a willing companion to accompany me on any errand (when he was able to get in the car) and we all know how much he loved<\/em> a good party. He couldn’t be kept away, somehow someway he found his way into the crowd and his sweet face and adorable demeanor melted anyone who he came in contact with, sure enough he ended up as the life of the party:)\u00a0 He was also as many of you know The Enchanted Home mascot. Though he is gone,\u00a0 his spirit lives on at the end of every post with his picture:)<\/p>\n

Yes, \u00a0today he’s been gone one year. I want to honor this sweet dog with a look at some of the highlights of his wonderful 13 years with us. He will never be forgotten. Many ask why I don’t get another. For me, its just not that simple. I don’t feel ready at all to open my heart to another dog, I don’t feel like I could love him with my whole heart and that wouldn’t be right. Then there is the pragmatic side of things like I am working full time, and want to get to Palmetto Bluff at least once a month and with a big dog it’s hard to take them along. So for now, my heart belongs to Teddy and I am comfortable with that. Teddy, take it away-<\/p>\n

At times he needed to “get away from it all” and go into seclusion and veg a little<\/p>\n

That is splendor in the grass if I ever saw it!<\/p>\n

Always ready to ham it up for the camera<\/p>\n

He was definitely a snow bunny….loved playing in it!<\/p>\n

That smile could melt anyone’s heart!<\/p>\n

And how he loved a good time on his Sunday joy ride with my husband in his little vintage convertible:)<\/p>\n

Teddy lived a very happy and full life. He knew he was surrounded by those who loved him so much and that makes me happy to know he had the best life we could give him. I remember up until not long ago I could not look at a picture of Teddy without tearing up and crying, now I look at his pictures and smile knowing what a beautiful life we had together….a sign that my heart is healing not having him here with us. To anyone who has loved and lost a pet, you know the pain of which I speak but the joy that they bring into our lives as well. And it’s that joy that somehow stays alive in our hearts forever.<\/p>\n

I know many of you have been through this and we all know it is never easy but I will say getting to have him for 13 years was well worth it the tears and angst. We are all the better for it.
