Hello and Happy Friday. I was looking forward to spending part of the weekend in the city, but with a gloomy forecast ahead, that plan will wait or a more beautiful weekend. So it will be dinner with friends and then my sister in coming in on Sunday which I am so looking forward to!

Spring is at our doorstep, and I couldn’t be happier! With it comes an abundance of beautiful blooms, filling our world with color and fragrance. The other day, I treated myself to a visit to one of my favorite flower markets—something I love to do now and then, simply because it brings me so much joy. Its my form of therapy. It dawned on me that I have not done a designated floral post in a very very long time. I used to do them regularly. Maybe I will get back (hopefully) to doing them more regularly.

Since moving into our current home, I’ve been embracing the spaces in new ways. One unexpected space was a simple storage room (that was used for cleaning supplies, brooms. etc….) with large windows that let in beautiful natural light. I decided to turn it into my very own flower room. It’s something I’ve always wanted, and now that I have it, I’m convinced every home needs one, no matter how small. A place where petals, stems, and scattered blooms on the floor feel right at home, a pretty mess, as I always call it.

The other day, I played florist for a while, creating a few arrangements. I put together a bouquet for a dear friend’s birthday dinner and kept another one for myself. I even stored some flowers carefully so I could make a small arrangement for another friend whose birthday I missed, for tonight. There’s something so special about gifting flowers—they always bring a smile.

Out of all the rooms in this house, that little flower room brings me the most joy. I turn on some music, get lost in the process, and suddenly, I feel like I’m in my very own flower shop—just me and the blooms. Who would have thought a simple storage room could bring such happiness? It was funny as I was sweeping all the stems and leaves on the floor when I was done, I actually even enjoyed that process. I was manifesting having my own little florist.

I also picked up a couple of mini orchids to experiment with in different containers. One thing is for sure—I will never run out of beautiful vessels for flowers! Here’s a little glimpse into my flower-arranging day.

My beautiful bounty in all the pretty spring colors

These viburnum are spectacular!

Say hi to my little flower room

I was out of plastic liners so used this green liner inside one of our beautiful French wire baskets

A nice big box of fresh sheet moss will go a long way

First step was to wet my sheet moss, it should be damp but not dripping. You can spray it with water or dip it inside a bucket of water and squeeze out the excess

I took patches and carefully placed it alongside the interior wall of the basket

Just about done

Gorgeous white roses

Getting started, first doing an arrangement in one of our fabulous new large urns, makes the most elegant flower vase (click here)

A pretty mess in action

In progress….

Arrangement #1 almost done

Arrangement #2 finishing up

Two beautiful arrangements complete (one for me and one for her)

The beautiful mini orchids (they measures about 14″ tall) in an assortment of planters, nothing they don’t look good in. These are our small bamboo and wicker 6″ box planters

Little flower room getting put back together again, this room doe snot have heat which actually works out well as flowers always do best in very cool spaces

Hope you enjoyed stepping inside this sweet little space. Only thing I could use is a utility sink so looking into seeing if that is. possible. If not, the bathroom sink nearby will have to suffice.

Since spring flower season is here, today and tomorrow we have a gift with purchase. Spend $75.00 or more and relieve a free p0rcelain bud vase, perfect size for an end table or side table. Click here for site (all categories are on top)

Thanks as always for stopping by. Wishing everyone a wonderful day and smooth end to your week. Until next time…..

I would stay in that room all day long! You are giving me an idea for a room off our garage that we use to store outdoor cushions, it also has a huge window. Maybe I need a flower room:)

Did you take flower arranging courses/ You are really good at it, love the one especially in the white wire basket, its beautiful.

Your birthday friends will be delighted with their fresh flowers. What a dream , a flower room . Oh those windows! I can see a table full of geraniums in pink and white smiling out the window

I have designated part of my butlers pantry as flower room for years.
Arranging flowers is my therapy as well.
Would love if you had floral post !!!

What a beautiful space! Can’t believe it was once a broom closet! Would love to have one in my home.

I’m a pretty avid follower but I’m confused about which house is which. So you currently own 3 homes and are in the process of renovating 2 of them? You’ve inspired me to carve out a flower room somewhere!

That was a pretty space for a storage area, but a much better place for a flower room. I have been eyeing Pamela Munson bags for several years but have not purchased one, but they really are special.

Your arrangements are pretty. Yes, I would turn that room into flower room with those windows giving light. An antique stone sink and counter would be gorgeous installed…OR cast iron urn sink with wall mount faucet. I have always loved decorating so I see visions.
