Hello and Happy Sunday morning to you! Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful weekend. We had have so much rain this past month. So its awfully nice to see the sun blazing early this morning.  The silver lining is of course how green and lush everything looks out doors but the gloominess, I am over!

It was a combination of being a stressful week (lots of navigation and contemplation about the tariffs that have taken over every business owners life) filled in with a few highlights- getting our porcelain container being a big one! Getting to see an out of town friend and this weekend, getting together with good friends then I will be babysitting Phillip for the full day on Sunday…getting my rest now:)

We are gearing up to receive our biggest chinoiserie tole shipment ever on Tuesday and this one is AMAZING. Has the most beautiful items on it to date. All presale orders will start shipping out Wed and we expect to have them all out no later than Friday. We will hold an arrival sale the following Tues. And, yes, there are a few pieces I already have my eye on to bring home. Hard to believe Memorial Day is next weekend…..believe it or not my manufacturers have already been in contact with me about our CHRISTMAS collection. I need to push a pause button. OK onward to my post this weekend…..

1 A WONDERFUL CAUSE FOR A DEAR FRIEND I have a friend who is a rare breed in today’s world. She has 3 young kids and wow, is she ever raising them right! She believes in hard work, elbow grease and keeping them as far away as possible from “screen culture” that has taken over the minds of our youth.I am in absolute awe of how she is raising her kids.  She took them out of school for half a year last year,  home schooled them and traveled the world so they could see the world and experience the world through the lens of other cultures and people. It was an eye opening experience for all of them.

I love and admire how she has taught and instilled manners in them, its always “hi Miss Tina” and thank you and please are a regular part of their daily vocabulary. Kudos to Jimeale! She has them busy running lemonade stands and a “golf cart cleaning service” to earn extra money towards a HUGE trip they are planning to help those in need in Africa.

So this summer she is taking them to Africa, and together they will volunteer at an orphanage desperately in need of day to day essentials, with the hope that they will purchase 3+ water tanks to insure running clean water in the off months.I am in awe and truly inspired.

If you are feeling inspired and possibly  inclined to helping them raise money for this wonderful cause, I am including a link below as well as a short video from Annabelle (her eldest daughter). The experience she will be giving her children is nothing short of life changing. Wish my own sons could tag along:) Every contribution big or small brings them closer to reaching their goal. Thank you and brava Jimeale!

An excerpt from a recent email from Jimeale aka supermom-

“That would be wonderful !!! We are literally going for boots on the ground !
I am trying to keep the kids grounded and have a full understanding of how some kids live vs palmetto bluff !!!
The orphanage has 29 kids and we added another 4 and possibly more with our $
Adding 4 water tanks so now looking at putting laundry in for them so they don’t have to wash clothes in the river
The kids sleep on thin mattress (unsure mattress is the right word) on concrete
No windows etc
William is trying to hook up starlink internet so we can start helping them with educational programs online and connecting them to western world
We have arranged at school birthday cards and postcards to start sending to them
We are going to take all the kids on a field trip when there also. Have never done that !
It is going to be very sobering for sure. No hot water and no running water. But I know my kids will relish in helping them
We will take so many photos and videos”

2 QUADRILLE’S CLIMBING HYDRANGEA WALLPAPER No doubt you have seen this iconic paper before. I love it, don’t know where I would use it but thinking maybe my office (for new house) I have a fondness for anything vertical and “leafy” and to me, the blue is perfection. Click here to see more of Quadrilles fabulous papers!

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Though Instagram does not hold the same allure as it once did, I still find beautiful inspiration there (even if more and more its AI which is another post in and of itself)! Nothing wrong with AI, as I am fascinated by it, but it will get harder and harder to decipher real from AI enhanced.

4 MOTHERS DAY FLOWERS! Oh how I love these flowers, all my favorites- peonies, roses, hydrangea, viburnum, stock. Wish I had a magic spray to preserve them like this forever!  I immediately put them in my own containers (surprise I have a lifetime supply of them:) Been doing my very best to keep them going strong for as long as possible. They are all my favorites.  I was also able to set a beautiful table reusing them five days later which I will share next week….

5 Our fabulous cookie/canister ginger jar sets arrived! And they are even prettier in person! I am so excited about them and you better believe a set came home with me:) These will be part of our porcelain arrival sale starting Tuesday at 9am! Offered in five fabulous styles…what a wonderful addition to any kitchen countertop!

6 EVERYTHING BUT THE BAGEL If you have not tried this seasoning you are missing out. This is so so good. I don’t eat breakfast often but when I do, my go to is a thick slice of toasted sourdough bread, one avocado and a sprinkle of this seasoning and its such a treat. It is incredibly good.I also use it on omelettes and egg scrambles for my husband,  great to add to a sandwich for an extra kick and love it on roasted vegetables. I found this one at Trader Joe’s.

7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY We are considering adding the option to use Affirm for payments (which divides purchases into 4 payments) many sites use it and we are debating. It seems to be quite popular. Curious as to what you think, your input is always welcome!

Thanks for sharing the story of this wonderful family and their mission. Also, kudos to the parents for instilling manners and life lessons at an early age.

Oh, no…now we’ll never find “our” TJ’s ” secret blend… We bought several weeks ago as needed sesame seeds for a Pork Wellington…hubs found this. What a find…I use it daily!!! franki

What amazing thing your friend is doing with her children. She will no doubt provide a very strong moral foundation for them. we have been big supporters of Habitat for Humanity and my children have gone abroad to work for the organization and I can tell you it in stills a sense of empathy and morality that is hard to duplicate. unless you have experienced it.

For heavy spending months, affirm can be a lifesaver😂

I so look forward to your posts on Sunday. Looking at all of the beautiful pictures you post makes me so happy. Thank you !

An idea for you: have you considered offering Reviews for your products? I think it would be very helpful for people and considering the fine quality of your items, it would encourage people to purchase. I’ve purchased 3 of your early silver items + one of your tray tables + yesterday, I received the 3 dark blue ginger-canister set. The canister set is GORGEOUS!! Beautifully done, fabulous packaging, and even though the jars are a utility item, they add SO much decor value to a kitchen. The tray table is exquisite, good weight, again – beautifully done/finished. The silver items are still looking great (purchased 3-4+ years ago). Anyway, just a thought…..

That Quadrille wallpaper is actually the design Schumacher still sells. The set designer of Gone with the Wind designed it specifically for the movie. You can see it in the foyer of Tara as Scarlett descends the staircase if you google that. Schumacher named it Hydrangea Drape and has been selling it since the movie was made. It has remained popular all these years. I’m confused about Quadrille selling it unless they have some agreement with Schumacher. But who knows.

There is much need in Africa. I have friend living in Nigeria. He said they don’t have electricity but two -three hours a day. Some buy generators. Their basic needs are barely meet. Nil government support. So glad there are friends that can go there and make a difference. Fresh water is a luxury in many parts of Africa. God bless those who can help

Love your Sunday blog but have been receiving them on Monday morning. Slight glitch????

Follower from Australia- I am sure the tariffs are of concern to both businesses and to the consumers as the price of imported goods will unfortunately increase for consumers once the tariffs take effect on the imported goods they buy in the USA . A difficult time as I remember your video about many of your beautiful pieces that are made by craftsmen overseas
