Hello and happy Sunday to you! Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. In the middle of our weekend plans, hope we all stop for a minute to honor the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. I remember and I thank you.
Here, very chilly but at least our rain spell seems to be over (for now). Have my dad vising, went out to dinner last night with a big bunch of friends and today is a family day which includes getting to spend time with Phillip, the highlight of my weekend! Hard to believe its the unofficial start of summer!
OK, onward to my post this Sunday…..

1 CHINOISERIE TOLE NEW ARRIVALS! Oh my word, I nearly did a back-flip when I saw this container come in and we started unwrapping some of our new items. Our biggest tole container to date came in after waiting for months in anticipation and it’s loaded with the most beautiful things. Many new items, some which immediately came home with me! We will hold our arrival sale next week, so mark your calendars, every simple piece is simply exquisite!
I had to immediately use our fabulous. new bamboo pagoda mirror in soft blue in my office….love it!
I will admit I had this lamp done based upon my future bedroom:) Could not love the way it came out more!
Swooning over this lantern! Offered in five gorgeous colors, I wish I could put one in every room.
And how about this fabulous trellis Provence planter! Offered in black and ivory, so stately. Debating on what I am going to plant in there.
2 PAJAMAS! I had asked for pajama recommendations several weeks back and as usual you came through. I live for cozy pajamas, the minute I come home from the day, whether its 3pm or 6pm, the very first thing I do is put on my pjs!
I bought three pair (one I returned as I didn’t care for the fit and didn’t think the cotton was as soft as I had hoped) The two I kept are great. One is a nice soft cotton set from Petite Plume and the other is from Lake pajamas. Love them both! Absolutely will buy again.
These are great super soft and exactly what I was looking for. I have linked all these pjs on my LTK.
These were from Petit Plume, super soft and extremely comfortable! Click here
These are from Lake Pajamas, ultra soft and so cozy! Click here
3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST So much to love this weekend!
4 SNEAK PEEK AT THE PRETTIEST NAPKIN RINGS! Feast your eyes on these fabulous jewel like napkin rings, topiaries and ginger jars! These will be coming in June and we will hold a presale on this container in 2 weeks. I could seriously not love these more. They will be offered in three colorways, including the always beautiful blue and green.
5 A FABULOUS HOUSE TOUR What a pretty English farmhouse tour! If I was going to be transported to the English countryside,e I think this is what I would envision my house to feel like, such a wonderful dreamy vibe! Its perfectly imperfect!
6 AN EYE OPENING VIDEO ON AI I may not have mentioned it before but I am admittedly fascinated by AI. I. have watched and read up a lot on the subject. Yoshua Benjio is one of the worlds most renowned experts and scientists on AI. I first found out about him from my son and then saw him on 60 minutes.
This Ted talk was both fascinating and frightening. I love reading about where it’s going but like many, am incredibly alarmed at the rate in which its happening. I hope conversations about the threat and the ethics of AI will become normalized and taken more seriously than it seems to be now because there is no putting the genie back in the bottle.
7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY This is one of my which would you do’s. I will preface this by saying it took every ounce of restraint I had in me to not speak up, but I am always nervous as you never know who you are approaching and what they might do. So I am in a restaurant to meet a friend. I don’t go out of leisurely lunches nearly as much as I used to so when. I do its treat, both to unwind and to spend quality time with friends.
There is a man next to us (tables are pretty close) He is dining alone. He is on his phone texting away, fine. Then he calls someone to tell them he will be ready for their facetime in a few minutes. I assume that means hes leaving and doing it outside. No! Before I know it he is fully engaged in a full on facetime speaking quite loudly. I found out his son got accepted to an internship in Boston and hes going on vacation to Italy next month and the then he delved into a business chat! Right there, as if he wasn’t in a restaurant surrounded by people.
Absolutely no consideration, not even a little heads up. I am very courteous so first- I would never have done that. Secondly, if for some reason I had to take that call right then and there, I would have stepped out either to the restrooms outside. Or at the very least turned to both tables near to at least give the courtesy of saying you will be on a call. We wanted to say something but he was so engrossed in the call, it just felt really awkward. We were both a bit flabbergasted. What would you have done?
About the rude man in the restaurant: Now, I would never do this but would enjoy someone taking a short video of him and posting it on social media. People like that continue to exist because polite people tolerate it.
Unfortunately, this is another example of how a self-centered, inconsiderate person can behave in public. I’m afraid we have become a “me, me” society.
hi Tina, love all your new products coming in always so beautiful. I love Lake pajamas have been using them for years.! I’m going to check out the other brand they look very cute
you are more polite than I would have been towards the man-I would have interrupted his conversation and asked him to take it elsewhere. How inconsiderate to people in a restaurant obviously there to enjoy and socialize without having to hear his every word! So rude!
The video on AI I hope your viewers watch. There is so much opinion now on this topic, some too lengthy and challenging to comprehend. The video in today’s post is edited well and succinct. We should all be aware of the advantages and the possible catastrophe should AI be used in harmful ways. Thank you for posting!
Love the dutch_belgium_gardens instagram and Lake pajamas are soooo cozy 👌🏻
I went to a symphony orchestra event a couple weekends ago the last one of the season, my friend was on my left and seated next to her a grandmother, pretty young mom and her four year old daughter, ten mins later , mom pulls out the snack bag of popcorn. Then little angel got more restless. Mom checked her texts and then gave the phone to the four year old. My friend got to aggravatedd with the cell phone light , she ended up leaving the last section of the symphony. She did not speak up either. It’s a social
Problem .
If someone is on a call (video or otherwise) and speaking at a level as one would if they were having a person to person conversation, I’d ignore it. The dilemma is when someone is speaking obnoxiously loud. But, isn’t this the same as a
loud conversation happening in person? We’ve all had this experience – being seated next to a loud table – and, there’s not much one can do about it – except maybe move. Unfortunately, we have to accept that not everyone is going to be as considerate – no matter the circumstances. On a phone, in person – loud conversation is no fun for anyone seated close by. I know I’ve had to listen to a lot of personal exchanges between people and between a person and their cell phone. It’s the chance we take when dining out.
Can totally relate to that thrill of finally unboxing long-awaited home finds. Curious to see how you end up using that trellis planter—always love your approach to styling outdoor pieces.

He should have sent you a nice bottle of wine as an apology. 🍷
