Good Sunday morning, hope all is well and that you are having a wonderful weekend. Here, all good, was in Connecticut and then city and today am home….busy last few days so today is a day of rest and look forward to getting to spend some quality time with Phillip (will be on babysitting duty most of the day).

Never been a allergy sufferer but this year, that has changed! We still have pollen everywhere and my eyes are living proof. Aside from that, all is well

We got in a huge chinoiserie tole container (will be holding arrival sale soon) and getting another tabletop shipment in this week. We are holding our annual outdoor pillow popup either Monday or Tues and its so good! So do check back. OK, onward to my post this weekend….

1 PEONIES!! Peony season is upon us! Came on fast and I am taking full advantage. I think with all the rain, they seemed to bloom overnight and also with all the rain, the branches were almost all on the ground so I cut away. Went over to the house we are renovating where we have loads of peonies and cut a bunch to create some beautiful arrangements around the house. They are just so beautiful and the scent…..

Here they are 7 days later…

Cut some more added them to a large mint julep

And filled two containers with the last bunch I picked (one brought over to someones house)

2 A FUN HOUSE TOUR If you are a maximalist all the way, this ones for you. A lot happening here, so many details to take in. She clearly believes in the layered look and makes a strong argument for it! Love her shell box collection…

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Lots of beautiful instagrams to share……..

4 A HEARTWARMING STORY Steve Hartman is the very best of CBS. His inspiring stories remind us that there is indeed,  a good world out there filled with lots of good people. We just need to look for them. His heartwarming stories are a go to for me when I need a lift especially at a time when our world seems like such a dark and uncertain place. I loved this first story….so worth watching (and sharing)

(This is a long video and I will be watching the rest of the stories on it,  later today)

5 DINING CHAIRS So I have dreamt of buying a large set of Gustavian/Swedish antique chairs and always have my radar on in looking for them. Finding a full set of 12 is a tall order but every now and then, they become available.  I found a beautiful set of 12, several months ago and fell in love. They sold quickly and knowing we were moving out, it wasn’t the best time to make such an investment anyway. However I never stopped thinking of them.

So…..I decided to have a sample made of them and I am so thrilled with how they are coming along. This is in the raw state and they will get an antiqued finish but wanted to share how they are coming along! We are putting a few finishing touches on the chair (refining them in a few areas) but overall, they are coming along beautifully.

Here are the original chairs-

And here they are in their raw state-

Will be sure to share the progress as these move along! The finish will be similar to what I have below

6 MUST BUY PJ’S So, you have been part of my “pj journey” and helped me to discover a few new brands, thank you. Well,  I am now returning the favor- I have one last one to share with you and these might be my favorite yet! I was in Connecticut and went into the Roller Rabbit store, a shop I have purchased some fun things from in the past. I remember reading or hearing about their newest super soft cotton pjs.

I can attest, they do indeed make the softest, most edible cotton pj’s. and I have to say the quality is incredible. They come in a tiny hearts pattern, I bought the blue (no surprise) but may get the pink too. They feel so good that I wish I could wear them during the day! I bought the medium, they have a nice boxy cut.  Click here to see them on my robes and pjs board

Wish you could reach in and feel these….scrumptious!

7 SUNDAYS SURVEY  You are invited to a dinner party, and are seated next to someone who talks non stop. I do mean non stop, where you are almost unable to get in a word edgewise. This happened to me recently and my ears were ringing and head was pounding.

I can keep up a conversation but if anything I talk a little less than more as I have gotten older, so someone who is that talkative,  is exhausting (to me). Some people just do not know how to read the room or recognize limits. I almost did a cartwheel as the night was winding down and we got to leave. How do you handle?

Tina your dining room chairs are gorgeous! Brilliant idea to get them made. I love the final finish on them. You have found some talented craftsmen to make them for you. I am looking forward to seeing everything in your new house.

hiTina another great post. Your peonies are gorgeous. I have not had a lot of success unfortunately growing mine. I think it’s just too humid here.

Those chairs are beautiful. Cannot wait to see how they come out.

Upon your recommendation, I purchased the pajamas from petit plume and LOVE them- now I want to go purchase the others! always appreciate your recommendations and I have purchased many things that you have recommendeded, love your taste. Have fun with Philip!

O, the chairs! These are gorgeous…looking forward to finished project!! franki

While it would be nice if the chatterbox could read the room, it would also be nice if the room could read the situation. Depending on the logistics, I tend to think others around you could have helped out proactively instead of leaving you trapped (as it seems happened; not sure, though). Everyone at a gathering has a duty to one another. Not always possible, I know, but the chatty person’s energy should have been more evenly distributed IMO.

Hope the host/ess sent YOU flowers after! 🙂

Oh those chairs! I love them already! Will you sell them? Hope so!

I cannot stand people who don’t know when to stop talking and don’t know how to take cues. I married into a family of talkaholics and yes, it can really exhaust you. I have learned how to politely bow out whether to walk outside, take a “phone call” or just take a few minutes to hear silence. The thing is they don’t see it- they are well meaning but don’t know the effect it has on people who are not as talkative.

Yes allergy seaon is bad this year, in Boston, still suffering!

LOVE the chairs, and may I suggest, also offer them in their “raw” state. I would be the first in line to buy 6.

I love Steve Hartman’s stories. It restores my faith in mankind. I watch them more now than ever!

Years ago I had a lovely neighbor who was such a chatterbox. My kids were young then and she would invite me over for afternoon sherry and regale me with stories of her life as a young German ballerina before the war. Pictures of her in costume lined the walls but the telling of the tales demanded much in the way of theatrics on her part … “All the world’s a stage” as she retold each memory and this combined with the sherry left me with a slight headache and need for a nap. She was delightful though … fond memories.😀☺️

Tina your chairs are lovely and they will go well in your home, but my heart is with the gorgeous table and chair set you had at your French house that you sold. What became of that set if you don’t mind me asking? I loved them.
