Hi friends, been wanting to do this one for a while. I must admit until a few years ago I was extremely lax about skincare and how I take care of my skin. I am genetically lucky that I have for the most part, good skin. Its never really given me any issues. However I wised up and started to educate myself on the importance of taking care of my skin and have since stepped up my game.

Skin care products work differently on different skin types so,  my suggestions are what has worked really well for me, what I love using and what I am devoted to (repeat buyer). I always like trying new things too, and a few have turned out to be real gems. Everything listed are items I use daily/nightly and have been using at least a few months so I speak honestly about them and how they are working for me. A line of products that you will see repeated here is Maya Chia. Love their products, plus a few other mainstays for me. When things work, why change them!

I also realize there are things even the very best skincare cannot totally get rid of. One thing that most of the experts seem to agree on is when it comes to skin care- Vitamin C and a retinol are must do’s, most effective for healthy skin.

I tend to have puffiness under my eyes many mornings and would love to do something about it, so for now use a temporary product that for the most part, does the trick (for at least a few hours)! And yes fine lines are there, so far I think I have them reasonably under control but take it day by day! I do get compliments on my skin so guess I am doing something right. OK so onward to what I love…….

Cleaning- I used to think using a makeup wipe was sufficient. Well, I was wrong. Most in the business seem to say that a double cleanse is the ideal way to clean your skin. Using a make up wipe then some type of oil/cream based cleanser. I always still use my makeup wipes but now use either Cetaphil or a new oil based cleanser from Maya Chia. Yes doing both steps certainly does make my skin feel much cleaner.

I will then follow up with a toner, I have for years, used La Prairie’s toner, its gentle and smells so good. This large bottle has realistically lasted me almost a year, so yes, while its expensive,  when I divide it into how long it lasts its pennies a day (girl math)! Able to justify a lot of things this way:) Click here

Daytime  So for day time I always use this vitamin C serum then will use the Maya Chia hydrating face/neck cream product over it (most days)-

This is the #1 dermatologist recommended vitamin C serum. I use it every day. It’s loaded with all the good stuff and has 15% of pure vitamin C. Helps with fine lines, loss of firmness and brightness for the skin, in addition to boosting collagen. This is normally around $180 but now on sale at Target for around $135.00. Click here

I use this cream below from Maya Chia occasionally during the day (when my skin feels really dry) Its super hydrating and penetrates quickly.

My faithful little tub of the Super cream from Maya Chia…can’t live without it! I mention this little guy all the time, I use it in spots that are more prone to dryness (have used it on my hands and elbows too)! Click here

For moisturizing the eyes I have been using upon many recommendations, this (new to me) product from Peter Thomas Roth, Potent C eye cream. I really like it, use it day and night. Click here

Nighttime-  So continuing on with the Maya Chia products and some of the newer products (to me) have become some of my most favorite products! These two I use every night and I swear I think I am seeing/feeling the difference!

This is a retinol treatment (first I have used) and my skin loves it! A form of Vitamin A that helps cell turnover and stimulates collagen production. Click here for more info use code enchanted15

And this one is a very rich hydrating cream that I use on top of the retinol, once again this feels so good on my skin, and this is a perfect treatment for my skin at the end of a long day. Click here use code enchanted15

And you know how I feel about the superblend which I have spoken of many many times. I use this at night and sometimes during the day.  I love this and keep one at home and one with me at all times, its like an instant drink for my skin, I. love it and it smells wonderful as well. Many of you remember me coming back from Paris and talking about this which some refer to as a cult favorite in France. For about 5-6 months, I used this A41 cream a few times a week.

I am not going to say there is this huge monumental change in my skin but I will say my skin does look supple and hydrated. To be fair, I cannot tell you if its because of this one product or a combination of the above.  I would like to think that its partially responsible. For about a month I have been using (at night only) Maya Chia’s retinal followed by their intense night cream

THE EXTRAS-

Every now and then its nice to give yourself a little mask or a spa type treatment. This is a power peel, only takes a few minutes but wow….It’s amazing! Leaves my skin as soft as Phillips little bottom. I use it 1-2 times a month. I love to do it before I am headed out for the night to give my skin that extra glow!  Feels just as good as when you walk out of getting a facial. Click here

A great little product also from Maya Chia is this refreshing spray, you can carry it with you and use it anytime your skin feels dry or needs a drink of moisture. Great for travel too where your skin tends to really dry out. A perfect super hydrating spray to spray on my skin throughout the day (been carrying it around with me these hot months)  Click here use code enchanted15

For the mornings when I wake up with puffiness under my eyes I will dab the Peter Thomas Roth cream and have to say, it works really well at de puffing (is that a word)! I will then use a rich eye cream over it. Haven’t a better or more effective product. for stubborn puffiness under the eyes.  Click here

A friend of mine gave me these as she swears by them and now I think I do too. I love using these right before I am going out. Ice rollers are really gaining in popularity, you keep these in the freezer and use them to depuff. You can use them anywhere but I use them mostly on the eyes. And yes, they work! Click here

And of course sunscreen is an absolute must.  A friend of mine who I will consider a skincare pro and goes to a dermatologist like I go to Starbucks said her dr recommended this as the best facial sunscreen. So I bought it and use it, on my second tube.

I have gotten better about using it. Its the first thing I put on, especially on these hot summer days. This is zinc oxide and titanium oxide based, does not leave a white reside! Click here

So there’s my current regimen, what I’m currently using and loving in my skincare routine. I tend to stay loyal to products that truly work for my skin, but I’m always open to trying new things. Some of these are longtime favorites, while others are newer to me—but I’ve been using them consistently for at least a couple of months to give them a fair shot.

I’m really starting to understand the importance of staying moisturized and incorporating powerhouse ingredients like vitamin C and retinol. Hopefully, these will keep my skin happy for a good while… until I feel the need to level things up a bit—ha! Let me know if you’ve tried any of these or have favorites I should check out. Always great to exchange information and ideas. Thanks for stopping in. Until next time…..

PS Any ideas for our next “Let’s talk” should be about? I am all ears……

Whoa this is a lot of product! And a lotta moolah! I would love to know what your top 3 would be!

You have to get into Korean skincare! Reasonably priced and gives results like no other I have tried. Medicube is especially good.

I use Sisley, but I’ve worked in a lot of Korean, which is excellent! I also just tried Allies of Skin, – I was shocked at how much I liked it. I’m reordering the serum and peptide ( in beige tube)

Tina upon your recommendation I tried the super blend from Maya and love it!

Now i am going to have to try a few more of their products. I have also used for many years La Prarie products and must say they are great- works well for my skin.

Hydration is key and agree about vit c and retinol- must haves for skin over 40. And a good facial once every 6-8 weeks.

ps I also use facial wipes they are just so easy!

Thank you for this. I am. in need of some good products. Used a lot from Clinique but seems to no longer be working for my skin (now 54). Thanks for honest and transparent take on these. Going to go through your list, Def need the vit. c and the nighttime retinol. I have really dry skin- does this work well for dry skin? I love your recommendations- keep them coming.

Thanks for sharing your skincare routine. I love my Timeless Skin Care 20% C + E Ferulic Acid Serum which has most of the same ingredients as the OG Skinceuticals version for a fraction of the cost ($30, but Timeless often runs discounts). I have gotten LOTS of compliments after using it, and I highly recommend it. From NYT: https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-vitamin-c-serums/ — #1 on the list is the Skinceuticals one that you use, but Timeless is on the list as well! I also like the Timeless CoQ10 serum, and I use Elta MD sunscreen every day. Thanks again for sharing!

So funny but I use most of these products too. Plus others. Seem to try them all . My Birthday is coming up! I still enjoy using my German basic cream..

Thanks for the tip on the discount at Target on the SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic – just ordered some! Also ordered more M-61 after liking it per your previous recommendation. I tried the Maya Chia Super Blend that you had recommended earlier and had a bad reaction. Had to give that one away and won’t be trying their other products since they aren’t a good match for me. Love your posts, Tina, and trying new things. You are a wealth of information!!

I really enjoy these skin care updates. Each Christmas I like to fill my daughter’s stocking with skin care products recommended by you along with other products I read about. Very few times has my daughter been disappointed in what you’ve suggested. Please keep the recommendations coming. Thank you so much.

Tina Thanks for your post. Have you ever tried Oneskin? Made by women scientists. My husband and I have used eye cream, body lotion and face lotion for awhile. We are impressed!
