Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I am finally in PB and its been so nice, though possibly preparing for the fringe of a hurricane/tropical storm to hit was not in the cards:) So, we are watching it carefully, of course. I so needed these few days (however long this trip lasts) to unplug and be off schedule.
It is like a tonic I need for my soul. I find the older I get, the more I need these occasional breaks from the everyday noise of having a busy agenda, being what feels at times like “too plugged in”. The quiet is a very very nice change. Once I have a chance to recharge, I go back to real life feeling renewed. With the holiday season ahead, I need all the recharging I can get:)
1 GUESS WHERE I AM Hint- dripping moss, gas lanterns and wild turkeys. One of my favorite places to relax and decompress, Palmetto Bluff. Everything here is status quo, but its as beautiful as its ever been though as I mentioned potentially preparing for a tropical storm which was not part of my intended visit! Playing it day by day. A few pretty highlights….
We have a family of wild turkey that seems to be living on our property, they are here every day now! (taken with my very old iPad so the quality is not great)
And brought down a few of our new rechargeable mini table lamps- perfect for the powder room and in my kitchen! (click here to see them)
Weston Farms sent some beautiful fresh magnolia and I added them to the limelight and love the effect, perfect blend of late summer and fall
2 A STUNNING HOUSE TOUR AND THE PRETTIEST BOOKSTORE! Two greats come together. Cathy Kincaid is one of my all time favorite designers for her elegant timeless style and Beacon Hill Bookstore is the prettiest bookstore I have ever seen (got to visit in a few weekends ago). It was such fun to not only take another tour of the bookstore but of the owners home, which reflects both her and Cathy Kincaid’s gorgeous style. This was a treat!
3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Just a lot of random pretties that caught my eye….
4 A BELTED FAUX FUR VEST If there’s one item that is a staple in my cooler weather wardrobe (threes actually a few and I will do a post on those soon) its a good quality faux fur vest. I love the way it elevates an outfit.
I own a black and navy one but not brown. I particularly like those that you can tie or cinch at the waist. Best part is they can be dressed up or down. I gathered a few that I really like (ordered the first one and love it)! but have my eye on the black shearing with brass buttons and that last brown one is so gorgeous too!
5 OUR URNS AND PEDESTALS So our incredible urns and pedestals have been a huge hit. Unfortunate the tarrriff situation has rained on our parade but we are trying to work things out with our manufacture. Came up with a few new designs and a few of them, I happen to love. You always make the best focus group so would love to know if you have 1-2 favorites. We will also be introducing a small version of these urns (think tabletop) in the spring in beautiful spring colors- soft pink, soft blue, soft green and maybe a buttery yellow.
6 A NEW MASCARA WORTH TELLING YOU ABOUT! So I love Thrive mascara it really is the best I have ever used. Lately I have not been using mascara much, becuae I was out of my Thrive and you can only order it online. So I traveled to PB mascara free.
However I was told about a new Maybelle mascara that works the same way- with small “fillers” in the formula. I forgot my Thrive so went to CVS to look for this one and I have to say I as really shocked at how good it was! Two good coats and I would venture to say it looked every bit as good as Thrive, for less than half the price! So this was an exciting discovery. Found it at Target for the best price so just ordered another tube, click here
7 SUNDAYS SURVEY I have developed a little bit of a ritual for the weekends. Lounging in bed. I am an early riser, naturally however really enjoy just relaxing, whether going on my iPad, catching up on emails, watching something on TV. At first, it felt forced to make myself stay in bed and relax, I resisted the urge to get up and go. Now it is something I really look forward to. I will occasionally go down and make coffee, bring it up and extend it even longer! How about you?
Last day to take advantage of our small pumpkin promo. All small pumpkins $35.00 while supplies last! Click here
And that’s my Sunday post for this weekend! Hope you enjoyed, always love your feedback and. knowing if something in particular resonated. Thanks fro stopping in, until next time….
A lot to love ere today. Love your palmetto Bluff pictures we are going there in April for a wedding, cannot wait!
I bought the ginger jar lamps and LOVE THEM.
Those vests are beautiful. love that they are faux. Our mornings on the weekend start early- hockey practice for 3 hockey players but every Sunday around 4 when its all over, I sit down with a glass of wine and binge watch whatever I am watching on TV (right now its The Crown)
Sunday Morning on CBS starts my day! Love all their segments and usually learn something too. Fixing breakfast is a treat with this show on and then completing my plans (hopefully not too many) knowing I have books and magazines to read and favorite shows to stream. There is also usually a Colts game on to root for the home team! As days grow shorter they fill up faster. Love my Sundays!!!
Feeling your pain on the weather! We are in Seabrook Island and Charleston this week and have really had to pivot on our plans. Right now sitting on my deck and enjoying water views but not sure what tomorrow will bring! Had planned to play lots of pickleball this week but don’t think that’s going to work out☹️
I am big on weekend rituals. Every Sat morn I play tennis for 2 hours with 3 good friends then we have an early lunch.
Sundays my husband and I always go out for a special meal, we alternate weekends choosing where to.
Just adore your blog, your taste and refreshing voice on everything! Love those pictures you shared and need to order that last vest, so chic.
