Hello and happy Sunday, hope this finds you enjoying a wonderful fall weekend. The rain is finally gone and we have been having some really delightful weather. 50’s and 60’s, breezy and sunny and just enough for a jacket. The weather I live for all year long! Have had a really nice weekend so far, seeing friends and family, a little pickleball and hopefully today will get to a fall fair and/or a drive to see the foliage. Such a beautiful time of year. OK onward to my post…

1 OUR GORGEOUS NEW STOCKINGS!  Many of you have been asking about these. We were supposed to have our stockings presale last week and apologize that it did not happen. We were waiting for a few more pictures to come back.

The presale will start this Tues at 9am FOR SURE! These are so incredibly beautiful, we are so excited over this collection and the fact that we also have them made in the 18′ full size as well! They will also include a gift pouch so they are ready for gifting (and that includes to yourself of course)!

Cannot even tell you how fabulous these are!

2 A STORY I FEEL COMPELLED  TO SHARE. You know by now if you have read my blog for any length of time,  I am a very sensitive person. I often come across stories of hardships of varying degrees and do whatever little I can. I occasionally share such stories with you. You might all remember sweet little Adriel and that video that went viral. I was so grateful for what the Enchanted Home community did for her and to this day, I still hear from her dad saying how grateful he is for what we were able to do for her, in buying her that electric wheelchair.

Today I bring you another story of sweet little Mckenna, what a little angel.I think of my precious little Phillip and do not take his good health for granted. This sweet little girl was born with hydrocephalus (excessive accumulation of the fluid around the brain) as well as three other conditions which all affect her muscle coordination and which collapses her larynx which causes obstruction of the airways.

This poor baby has been in hospitals more than out. I believe shes now at Duke where she is being evaluated for Cerebral Palsy.  She has regular brain scans, sonograms and her life has been in the hospital. Her parents say through it all she has been such a patient little trouper. But imagine having to be a trouper at that young tender age. And then the parents, I just cannot imagine, in addition they have 3 other children who’s lives have been greatly impacted as well. They have struggled to raise money for all that is not covered by insurance and that is where the kindness of strangers comes in. I am in including their Go Fund me below in case you want to make donation of any size. Every little bit will help this family take care of their precious little girl. Sending a prayer for sweet McKenna and her family.

4 PISTACHIO BALLS  These are SO darn good!!! Definitely make them if you are having people over or taking them to someone, because it would be easy to inhale the entire batch if making them at home for no reason:)  These are easy and incredibly delicious. You can also keep them in a sealed container in the fridge for about up to 3 days (or you could freeze them)

  • What you need-
  • 2 vanilla round cakes or 2 pound cakes
  • 1 jar of pistachio cream (found in specialty shop or Italian gourmet shops)
  • Mascarpone (8 oz)
  • About 2 cups of unshelled pistachios crushed/ground

Take the two cakes and put them in a large bowl. Using gloves gently break up the entire cake into small pieces. Then add 8 oz of pistachio cream and 8 oz of the mascarpone. Again with gloved hands, thoroughly mix it altogether. I then added about 1/4 up finely ground pistachios (this is optional) to the mix.

Using a small ice cream scoop, scoop out small balls, gently roll them through the ground up pistachios covering all areas. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment, Once done I refrigerated them which allowed them to “set” for about 30 minutes or more. Take them out a few minutes before you want to serve, add either ground pistachios over them as a garnish or powdered sugar. Enjoy! Any you have left should be refrigerated.

5 JUST BOUGHT THIS SWEATER  IN 3 COLORS. I live for fall/winter dressing. Its very long season here so I typically spend the most on cold weather dressing. I also keep things a long time, especially the good things that are classics. I just,  last week started going through my jackets and sweaters. Jackets and coats, I have plenty of but am in the market for a new camel coat (car length above knee) and sweaters- while I have plenty there were some that I have owned for many years who have served their time.

I love cashmere and cotton, can’t wear anything else. I love a good crewneck pullover as it can be used in a few days. So bought these from Quince and they did not disappoint one bit! What a value, everything I have gotten from them I have been more than pleased with. Great colors too, click here to see my sweater round up.

There is the more fitted and the boxier cut…both fabulous! Click here to see all my picks.

And this is the high neck tshirt I buy from them, I wear it under the sweaters, perfect high neck cut for a peek around the neckline, its a stretch cotton and perfect at only $19.90! Click here

6 A DREAMY GARDEN EVENT LOVED this event. Talented Heather Chadduck (am a big big fan of her work)  took us to the dreamiest tour of the Antiques at the Garden in Birmingham. Just breathtaking in every way! Video by Schumacher

7 SEVEN ON SUNDAY I have asked this before but I like to gauge and assess the kind of content you like to see. In a world that moves fast, blogs feel like snail mail next to emails and texts but they also allow you to slow down and take breath, reading content, and often feeling like you get to know the person behind the blog. I have heard this many times and take it as a high compliment. So, would love to know which three of these topics are your fave and maybe would like to see more of? This helps me when I am planning my content! Just a quickie poll…thanks for your input!

POLL WAS NOT WORKING BUT NOW IS FIXED, MIGHT TAKE A FEW SECONDS TO LOAD (YOU HAVE TO SCROLL DOWN TO SEE ALL QUESTIONS)

Thanks for stopping in. Wishing everyone a wonderful and beau8tful fall day. We may go to a local fair with Phillip and family or if I can convince my husband drive up north to take in the beautiful foliage:) Thanks for stopping by, until next time….

PS Did you know if you review a product you have purchased from us that yo will receive via email, a discount code! Please consider leaving a review, this is a feature we have just added to our site!

I live for Seven on Sundays! Always a special treat. Just received the Italian leather tote from Quince and love it! Packing was beautiful.

I cannot get the 3 topics open to leave a comment.

I enjoy your blog very much. It’s the first thing I read on Sunday.
At the end of the blog, it was stated, Page Not Found. So, I couldn’t participate in the voting.

yay about the stockings, been waiting on those. Thanks for sharing the story about the sick little girl, will donate for sure.

FYI I was able to access the poll (it might take a little to download) which is maybe why some cannot see it.

Thank you for sharing precious McKenna’s story with us, Tina… I just donated anonymously. I love your human interest stories, as well as video tours of inspiring homes.

Thank you for your newsletter
I look forward to reading it every Sunday. It is like sitting down with an old wonderful friend

Tina, I’ve purchased four or five items that you’ve featured in your blog…all just spot on!! I look forward to Sundays “sitting down with you!!”

Thanks for sharing the story of precious McKenna . I hope lots of your readers will donate. Love Quince.

Absolutely loved the Birmingham video! I’m a Georgia girl (though long past girl age) and adore and appreciate all that is southern.
