Good Sunday morning! Hope everyone is having a great weekend. The weather has been so glorious, how I wish it could stay this way all year long! Hoping to head into the city to catch the beautiful porcelain exhibit of Vladimir Kanevsky at The Frick before the exhibition closes. We have a warehouse sale going on this weekend (first time) and if you are local, you should swing by! We will also hold an online warehouse sale this week (as many who are not in the area have asked) so stay tuned.

Phillip and family come back from a vacation they took so looking forward to seeing him and covering him with hugs and kisses. He is always the very best part of my day!

1 OUR TREE COLLARS AND STOCKINGS Though we had to do a big pivot on our holiday introductions, we ended up with some fabulous items! Because of the tariffs, we had to cancel some shipments which was super disappointing and i must. have aged 3 years during that time! But we were able to add some great new things, a few are below. We are getting limited numbers of the tree collars however as we are air shipping these. Not ideal but they were too good to not introduce this year. We are almost sold out of two colors, its not too late to get your preorder in which will guarantee you a stand. Four fabulous colors. Click here to order yours

And we just got in our wonderful small needlepoint stocking collection. Couldn’t love them more, they are so sweet. Just love these designs so much, perfect blend of elegance and festive! The 18″ versions will be here within 2 weeks. All presales have shipped.

I will use mine for my Christmas dinner table, one at every place setting stuffed with fresh greens, they also make a fabulous hostess gift.  These will be part of a big seasonal sale coming up this week! Click here to see them

2 A DELICIOUS HEARTY SOUP FOR THE COLD MONTHS AHEAD. If you live in a part of the country where you are preparing for the colder “hibernation” months as I like to call them, then you will definitely want to try this Tuscan bean soup!  It is quickly become of our favorites  and its hearty enough to where you can serve it with a crusty baguette loaf and call it a meal.

Got this recipe from I am Homsteader.

  • 1 pound mild Italian sausage
  • 1 large yellow onion (diced)
  • 3 ribs celery (diced)
  • 2 large carrots (sliced into rounds)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups (60 g) fresh baby spinach

Seasonings and Liquids:

  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 cups (32 ounces) chicken broth
  • 2 cans (15.5 ounces each) Great Northern beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup (119 g) heavy whipping cream
  • Parsley (chopped for garnish)

HOW TO MAKE

  1. Heat a large Dutch oven over medium-high temperature. Brown the sausage, breaking it into smaller pieces with a wooden spoon, stirring occasionally for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Lower the heat to medium. Sauté onions, celery, and carrots until vegetables become translucent, approximately 3-5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Incorporate tomato paste, Italian seasoning, crushed red pepper, and black pepper, mixing thoroughly to distribute the seasonings evenly.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and white beans. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for 6-7 minutes, allowing vegetables to become tender.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and fresh spinach. Continue cooking until spinach wilts completely, around 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and ladle the soup into serving bowls. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for added brightness and flavor.

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST The holidays are not far away and obviously are very much on my radar with a few of these….

4 $50.00 CASHMERE SWEATERS! This feels like a public service announcement. I have really grown to love the value and quality of Quince cashmere. I have shared them a few times and everything I have bought has been so good.

There are so many great choices and these classics below are such fabulous sweaters and they are such a DEAL! They were $148 and now are $50.00. I own two colors and just ordered two more. I love cashmere anything and live in these kinds of sweaters all winter long. Size up if you like to layer or add a button down underneath.

5 NEVER UNDERESTIMATE WHATS IN YOUR YARD! I didn’t’ have time to buy flowers so went out cut a few branches and put them in my favorite lattice 16″ urns end just love how it came ou0t. So easy and took literally all of 30 seconds, you might e surprised by what you can create just by walking outside!

And then if you have berries on hand, adding a big spray of white berries is a beautiful finishing touch!

6 A FUN HOLIDAY HOUSE TOUR TO GET YOU IN THE SPIRIT. Well first, hats off to for all he has put into his beautiful, cozy sophisticat4ed holiday home. It makes whatever I do look positively minimalist. I love the beautiful rich greens and of course the abundance of paper whites. I related to him when he said he wishes he could jump in and live in that Christmas village display, so relatable. This, I have to say, got me in the holiday mood! Another great and inspiring tour from Homeworthy.

7. SUNDAY’S SURVEY So I put up a story on Instagram the other day, when I woke up at 2:30 in the morning and literally never fell back asleep. I was such a zombie the next day, and of course it was a day when I had a day off to play pickle ball, take a mah jong lesson and was supposed to be in the city that night.

I started crashing out by midday and never made it to the city. I have never been a big sleeper and in fact, always was able to get by with little sleep but boy, as you get older, it gets even trickier! When I can’t sleep I will often turn to my phone or iPad but last few nights I refused and you know what, it made for a more restful night, was able to get a few more hours of sleep. SO I am curious which best sums up your sleep patterns?

You are getting me in the holiday spirit! Love the stands and stockings.

Great idea on your pretty branch arrangement, wow! I may have to try it.

I take a bath every night, take magnesium glycinate and do not go no my phone after 8pm, I almost always get a solid. nights rest.

Soup looks and sounds amazing!

O, bring on the “good soup” suggestions!! This one is “on my grocery list” right now!! (First freeze Monday nite😒)

everything is so pretty. I love all of the holiday offerings and love the idea of adding a little stocking to each plate. , what a beautiful favor for everyone to take home. The soup sounds so good. We are supposed to dip into the 30s tonight so it’s definitely soup weather over here!

I take magnesium glycinate every night and it really does help. Give me a sound sleep.

My secret to a good night’s sleep is to chase away all the “coulda, woulda, shoulda” thoughts (like why did I -or didn’t I- do such and such 40 years ago) with a substitute dialogue. Old britbox shows like Miss Marple or Poirot play on my kindle and I use a Bluetooth sleep headband to listen. I cover the screen so I don’t get any light from it. I can listen to the same show over and over because I fall asleep so soundly I have no idea what happens. Getting rid of negative thoughts is the key I discovered many years ago.

Soup looks so good I will give it a try! Love the stockings, too cute.
I take ambien to sleep only on nights when I have a crazy work day or busy travel schedule the next day. Very effective.

Love the cozy Christmas house! I recently visited the Frick. Very impressive. Love anything related to the guilded age.

Wonder if the last image of the Instagram posts you listed is AI generated, it is a lovely spot, however, I can only see children sitting at the banquette. As a tall family we would be hitting our heads on the lower shelf. Re the sleeping, I am 56 and haven’t had a full good night’s sleep since I was pregnant with my son who will be 24 in January. Nothing seems to help. I had trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. Now I can fall asleep, however, still wake and trouble going back to sleep. I believe my body has become used to it now.

Great recipe.. Thank you. Soup is even more wonderful on this almost record breaking cold temperature in Wilmington NC for this date.

OMG once again, that soup recipe is unbelievable! How do you juggle so many balls ? PLEASE KEEP SHARING….💕💕💕all you do
