Hi there, hope you are having a wonderful weekend. This weekend has been full as have the others preceding it. I am looking forward to some downtime around Thanksgiving. Hosted a little dinner party, owed several people back an invitation so doing it in small groups. We also got together with old friends which was so nice.

Today is about babysitting Phillip, staying home and having a nice quiet day to catch up and hopefully get in the holiday spirit. I think because I am not “home” I am just not quite feeling it, hope I snap out of it soon!

OK onward to my post this Sunday…..

2 A FUN FEATURE TO LOOK BACK ON I came across this wonderful feature of Christmas in our old home in Flower Magazine from last year. Was such fun to look back on, lots of good holiday memories, can’t wait to be in our home again so I can really do a deep dive into my holiday decorating!

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Such a pretty round up and filled with so much holiday beauty!

4 MY YUMMY BAKED BRIE Oh how I love this. I remember once when. I was home sick for days, I actually made one entirely for myself just to make feel better. Everytime I make this for guests, they ooh and ahh, its always a huge hit and there’s pretty much never any left. Made this for guests this weekend and it did not disappoint, a huge hit (and very pretty too)

  • 1 med round brie (about 10 oz)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cranberries (optional)
  • generous amount of brown sugar
  • 4 thick pats of butter
  • Pastry sheet dough (puff pastry) thawed, takes about 20 minutes to thaw
  • flour for when you roll out the puff pastry
  • egg for egg wash

Simply cut off the rind as best as you can of the brie, get out 3 sheets of the pastry sheet and generally roll out to the size that will fit well over the entire brie, put brie in center of rolled out pastry dough, put pecans, cranberries, brown sugar and cranberries on top (pile it up)! Gently bring up all sides of the pastry and hold the ends together and make a little twist with teh the dough. Get a small brush and do a light egg wash over entire pastry. Put into preheated oven set at 375 for about 50 minutes or until golden brown

5 NEW LAMPS ON THE HORIZON We have many beautiful new things in the pipeline . These beauties are so gorgeous and I have shared a few glimpses and everyone was so excited  about them. They will be coming late Dec/early Jan. They will be offered in two sizes a full size at 27″ and a mini at 14″. Will be offered in blue/white or white and will have a few choices of shades. Could not love them more! Not only are they gorgeous but the are rechargeable!! We will hold a presale in early Dec. and they will be coming in sometime early Jan.

6 A FABULOUS HOLIDAY TOUR THROUGH EUROPE. I don’t know how many of you can relate, but whenever I see a little Christmas village on display, I want to jump right in and live there. I’ve always felt like I was born in the wrong era and would do anything to go back to a gentler time. That’s why I watch this video on repeat—I’ve truly lost count. It’s perfectly, utterly magical and makes me feel like I’m wandering through a tiny, enchanted town. It has me dying to spend Christmas in London and the Cotswolds. I play it while I’m cooking, winding down at night… it never fails to put me right into the holiday spirit.

7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY OK who has their tree up? I don’t but sure wish I did! We have a wonderful man who normally helps me with the tree and whatever other decorations I need help with but he is not here this year and i find myself feeling unmotivated, trying though! I know part of the slump I feel is because I am not “home” and don’t have all my things with me. But I have enough to where i can certainly make things festive, so that’s not an excuse.

We did find our faux tree in storage (so don’t need to be on the hunt for one) so we are in the middle of having that brought to our house and I think once I start,  the enthusiasm will follow. Plus I am so excited to celebrate Christmas with Phillip. I have bought three gifts that’s at least something, right?

This is all I have done- wrapped a few presents, added some of our chinoiserie trees and a floral with some greens to a dining room console…its a start!

With luck I will get my tree up sometime this week and normally I decorate it over a few days (if I don’t have someone to help me) In the end, I know it will get done and truthfully, in the past we normally did not put up our tree until after Thanksgiving. I think my holiday mood right now is a combination of anxiety, excitement and being a little overwhelmed. So I am going to give myself a solid 6 on the holiday enthusiasm scaled (not a thing but it is now:)

How about you?

Your Sunday posts are so enjoyable, always so much beauty! I love all your planters and your decor so far looks amazing. I am going to sit down with a cup of coffee and watch that video, London during Christmas is next level beautiful.

I am at about a “5” this year, trying to get myself in gear, we have a very sick family member so its not quite the merry Christmas it normally would be but we will make the most of things. Good luck getting it all done!

We spent a Christmas in Europe touring different Christmas markets, while in Budapest enjoying the market one evening, it started to snow and it was magical with the twinkling lights, children singing Christmas carols and the snow! One of
my favorite Christmas memories!

Disappointed in the shift from pumpkins to pine boughs — it’s too soon and undermines both seasons. Giving myself a chance to full-out enjoy Thanksgiving, then when my company leaves I’ll make the shift from fall to winter celebrations. Thrilled to dive into both!

Carolyne, I’m so sorry for your loved one’s illness and wish your family the best.

Brie for the win!! We just decorated our (faux) 10+ ft tree!! We are now…going to “try & cover it” w/gauze fabric from AMAZON to camouflage…as hosting Thanksgiving here for 14 (did I mention they’re staying Wed- Sun!!) We w/have the “Tree” unveiling Fri at “Soup ‘Salad” here…🤞this all works…HAPPY THANKSGIVING Lovely Lady!! franki

So enjoyed today’s post ! I’m excited about the darling bird lamps- plan to get one ! The video of the village did not come through on my end 😟. Wondering if it’s just me ? I’m doing pink this year and the pink wreath in your post has inspired me ! Thank you for another beautiful post, Tina !

Your holiday pictures are always my favorite- such great style! I just ordered a planter i had my eye on, you gave me a great idea for a centerpiece for my dining room buffet for our Christmas dinner. That brie looks incredible! I remember that article in Flower Magazine, it was so beautiful. Their best issue yet. Have a nice Sunday, Tina

I too agree with Maria, I refuse to smear Thanksgiving & Christmas. The beautiful bird lamps are a must have!! The Brie looks amazing & easy to assemble. I remember your home being featured in Flower Magazine…I’ve brought it out for inspiration for when I start my Christmas decorating .

I certainly don’t wish to be obnoxious, but I’m all decorated. I can’t wait to enjoy our catered dinner in front of the fireplace by the glow of it & the Christmas tree. I LOVE the warm coziness of Christmas, and want to enjoy it as long as possible. Merry Thanksgiving! 💚
