Are you still in a food and labor induced coma like I am? Leftovers are also a really nice perk:) Our Thanksgiving was  nice, very relaxing, chaotic and must say…quite delicious. I didn’t make anything groundbreaking but it was just like the ultimate comfort food meal and just a wonderful and enjoyable day spent at home with my family. When all my guys are back in the nest (including Mr Phillip) there is nothing that could make me happier.

We were going to try to escape to Palmetto Bluff for a few days, but a few things came up so here we remain. We were actually going to go to London to celebrate our anniversary next week but it was just too much. Between Thanksgiving and commitments here the weekend of Dec. 6th it was too tight and was stressing me out. We may try to go for my birthday, so we will see. I just don’t wing things the way I did at 30. I want to get holiday shopping under my belt, get this house decorated to the best of my ability given that a lot is still in storage and then I will be ready for a trip!  When things feel forced, it takes some of the joy out of doing them so I am glad I am listening to my inner voice about what makes sense! OK onward to my post this weekend….

1 COMING SOON Our newest style  lantern has come out of production (that many of you have inquired about) and will be available in a soft white, soft blue and a beautiful spring green.  We will likely add other colors as I can tell this is already going to be a popular item. Pictures below, we will hold a presale on this shipment sometime in December…

Some exciting news!! Since our hand painted trays are such a huge hit, we are going to be offering handpainted portraits on oil! These will be a 16 x 20 and will be offered both as a framed piece or sent to you on canvas, and you can do your own framing! We are quite excited about this offering. Stay tuned for details. 2 A GORGEOUS HOUSE TOUR This time of year is when I love watching holiday home tours, gives me great inspiration which I have been somewhat short on lately. However since we just put up the tree, I am suddenly feeling a little pep in my step! This was a great one (Homeworthy) of the Fox family from The Fox Group,  who is a customer of ours, they have fabulous taste, a houseful of kids and horses and dogs, makes for quite a beautiful holiday home!

 

 

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Definitely a full on holiday vibe and I am loving it….

 

4 FRENCH MARTINI ANYONE? So there is a local restaurant that serves the best French martini. I am not a big drinker but I do look forward to going there just for this drink. And now that I learned how to make them myself,  must say mine is every bit as good! I served them the other night when we have a few couples over and they were an instant hit.

Best part (and easy) was being able to make a pitcher of them, and them just pouting ice and half a shaker of them mix to serve each individual drink. Happy to be able to add these to my entertaining repertoire!

Loved using our new cocktail napkins with them…so elegant and festive!

Single serving-

1 1/2 oz vodka

1/2 oz chambord

1 oz pineapple juice

Garnish lemon twist, some kind of greenery or raspberry

Chill glass if possible. Fill shaker with 1/2 ice. Pour mixture and shake well for about 20-30 seconds. It will pour out ice cold and frothy. You can also make the mixture ahead of time by the pitcher which I did and then just pour and shake each individual serving.

For a batch serving-

2 1/2 cups vodka

1.5 oz pineapple juice

.75 oz chambord

Stir and pour into pitcher, chill for 2-4 hours. Pour individually into shaker for servings. Enjoy!

6 OUR INCREDIBLE NEW EMBROIDERED COCKTAIL NAPKINS AND STOCKINGS! Was so very excited to get these in a few days ago and they are already a mighty popular item. If you are entertaining this season, I think you would be hard pressed to find a prettier cocktail napkin to serve your guests.

7 SUNDAYS SURVEY So Thanksgiving is behind us and now its full steam ahead into the Christmas holiday. And it goes by fast! The other day, I was getting dressed to go out and start shopping but was feeling super unmotivated. I started imagining the crowds and chaotic parking lots and just like that, stopped in my tracks, put on my comfy clothes and did some online shopping. I really do think this year, 90% of my shopping will be online. It’s just so easy! Curious about you?
