. I hope this finds you well and in the midst of the holiday hustle and bustle, which I’m sure is full throttle on your end, just as it is on mine. I still feel a bit behind the curve, but I’ve learned over the years that somehow it all comes together—and I do tend to work best under pressure.

It’s been a season of highs and lows. As I’ve mentioned before, a few people very close to me have been facing serious health challenges or the loss of a loved one, and it has weighed heavily on my heart. Life is filled with these ups and downs, and while we know we must keep moving forward, it can be difficult to feel joyful when those you care about are suffering. Still, we try—grateful for the moments of light when they appear.

I still have plenty of shopping to do, but thankfully online shopping makes it far easier than braving the crowds and malls. We’ve also been busy getting holiday orders out, and I couldn’t be prouder of my team. Everything has gone out on time, and their efficiency and dedication this season have been truly wonderful.

It was my birthday on Sunday, and we had a fun weekend planned in the city. Unfortunately, while meeting a friend for lunch, I suddenly felt like I was coming down with the flu—chills, pounding headache, the whole thing. I knew something was brewing, so I canceled everything and headed straight home, which turned out to be the best decision. I did a vitamin C infusion, and by Monday I was feeling almost back to myself. Whatever it was thankfully only lasted about 48 hours.

Friends took me out for a belated lunch on Monday, and that evening we we went out for a family dinner (minus one son who has the flu)!  It wasn’t exactly the planned birthday, but it was a lovely way to celebrate. I’ve always said I’d much rather celebrate someone else’s birthday than my own, but I’m always touched when people take the time—especially during such a busy season—to celebrate mine. I even have a few more belated birthday moments coming up, which feels a bit like the gift that keeps on giving. Right now, I am fully focused on the holidays, we are hosting a holiday cocktail party on Friday and my dad is coming in, so I have plenty to keep me busy. Sitting down to right my blog is by far the little pocket of calm and peace I need to keep me going. Here is life lately (the good and pretty only)!

We are down to the last of our belljars and will now sell the actual globes as cloches, which are so beautiful.I did a little experimenting. These will be online tomorrow, Wed under final sale

Close up of the tree that might just break the world record for taking the longest tree to decorate:) Almost there, what can I say…this has been a drips and drabs kind of Christmas!

The most beautiful snowfall, from a distance my pumpkins (yes really) were covered in snow and looked like snow covered boxwoods, let’s pretend!

Paperwhites are spread throughout the house and are in various stages of blooming, I know the scent is a love/hate, but I love it!

A small group of friends hosted a lovely little bday lunch for me and I brought over small bud vases with holiday flowers as favors

It was at Oheka Castle which is always so magical around the holiday…

Let’s just say I have consumed more desserts in the last 48 hours than I normally do in a period of 6 months, diet starts right after Christmas!

And here are the pictures from that magical snowfall!

Birthday flowers!

Burning my absolute favorite Nest candle, the way this permeates our entire house is incredible (which we now carry- click here)

Wrapped a christening gift in our beautiful pink chinoiserie paper with one of our darling ginger jar gift toppers….such a timeless paper.

And that’s a glimpse into life lately. Always appreciate you stopping in, wishing everyone a fabulous day! Stay calm and jingle on, until next time….

PS Tomorrow we will have one ONE DAY CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DAY WHERE THE ENTIRE SITE IS ON SALE! Just giving you a heads up in case you have your eye on something.

This was the beauty I needed to see this morning after recovering from slipping on the ice! Your pictures are beautiful, love the rust colored bows. And I cannot find the cloche’s. I love those too. Happy belated birthday, glad you got better and were able to celebrate a little later. All the best to you in the coming year.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TINA. Don’t worry you have plenty of company in the feeling of not catching up on holiday tasks. I am in the same boat but refuse to panic as I know worst case scenario I will do a late night shipping binge on Amazon and get all my gifts on time!
