Good morning everyone! I first want to announce the winner of the wicker bunnies! Congratulations goes to-

#46 sandra kirby says: The blue and white eggs are my favorite! I would place them in white wicker baskets as part of a dining room table arrangement.

Hope you all are warm and safe as so much of the country is under some kind of storm warning. We very spontaneously jumped on a plane to go to Palmetto Bluff in an effort to escape the brunt of things (husband cannot stand winter). So here we are for a few days. It is always so nice to be here, it’s cool but nothing like the brutal cold of NY. WE arI personally do not mind a big snowstorm (in fact love it as long as I am prepared indoors) however the very bitter cold is another story and my husband especially cannot stand it. We finally get the term “snowbirds”!  We will only be here a few days but it will be a nice time to unplug and catch up on all kinds of things.

1 A FABULOUS SPRING/SUMMER CLUTCH FROM PAMELA MUNSON x D. PORTHAULT Well this beauty just arrived and I could not love it more. I cannot wait to use it! This was as collaboration with Pamela Munson and D Porthault and it simply could not be prettier! I love the beautiful workmanship and semi precious stone top closure.

Though winter is in full swing, I can’t wait to bring it with me when I go away and know this will become a spring/summer going out staple. The entire collection is just fabulous. I own 4 or 5 bags from Pamela Munson and adore each and every one of them. Every time I am out with one of their bags, I always get people asking me about them. The workmanship and designs are just fabulously chic and timeless. Click here to find out more about their beautiful line of bags (this one is under the D.Porthault collaboration)

2 YUMMY PISTACHIO TRUFFLE BALLS These are SO good. And super easy…..anyone who tasted them couldn’t stop eating them! Plus they are really pretty. They look great with sprinkled sugar sprinkled on top when ready to serve, I didn’t have any when I made these. So here are the details-

What you need-

  • 2 vanilla round cakes or 2 pound cakes
  • 1 jar of pistachio cream (found in specialty shop or Italian gourmet shops)
  • Mascarpone (8 oz)
  • About 2 cups of unshelled pistachios crushed/ground

Take the two cakes and put them in a large bowl. Using gloves gently break up the entire cake into small pieces. Then add 8 oz of pistachio cream and 8 oz of hte mascarpone. Again with gloved hands, thoroughly mix it altogether. I then added about 1/4 up finely ground pistachios (this is optional) to the mix.

Using a small ice cream scoop, scoop out small balls, gently roll them through the ground up pistachios covering all areas. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment, Once done I refrigerated them which allowed them to “set”. Take them out a few minutes before you want to serve, add either ground pistachios over them as a garnish or powdered sugar. They stayed really well in the fridge for a few days ( and I am nearly sure you could easily freeze these as well) Enjoy!

Then serve them in a pretty silver dish or tray-

5 GORGEOUS HOUSE TOUR This southern home in Savannah caught my attention intermediately. What a beautiful, elegant and inviting in home. And a home with layers of stories and history makes it that much more significant. Love all the collections…reminds me of my own parents who built collections of things they loved from all around the world. Nothing like a beautifully curated home. Every room seems to tell a story……

Enjoy the warmer weather. Very cold and snowy here on Long Island. Be safe everyone.
The pistachio recipe looks delicious. I would put each one in a mini cupcake holder before placing on a tray. Can’t wait to try them.

Your blog is like a daily breath of fresh summer air. Love the beautiful bag, and will definitely make those pistachio truffles. My husband loves pistachios. Thanks for all the safety tips regarding our phones and devices, its scary to think of how much information they have on each of us. It is same to assume nothing is private. A day to myself- I would go to a museum in nearby Boston, make a day of it, a little shopping and meet my daughter who is in school there for lunch and maybe end it with a nice dinner. Enjoy your time in Palmetto Bluff.

The new products are sublime! Those truffles look so good too! I just got my beautiful eggs- even prettier in person! Waiting for spring!

I just returned from Hawaii last week and I’m with your husband…I absolutely can’t stand extreme cold weather! Even though I was born and raised in Wisconsin, my body can’t handle anything colder than 17 degrees. It has been -22 air temp here for days with wind chills of -40. I find it absolutely painful and too cold for humans and animals alike. Lady Charlotte (my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) and I are going stir crazy! Enjoy Palmetto Bluff!

I have begun honoring the sabbath. So I get this day of rest every week! God gave it to us because he loves us. Give it a try!

The toile wastepaper baskets, while beautiful, seem large for a powder room/bathroom. Can the pistachio balls be frozen?
Thank you, Tina.

My husband and I went out for dinner last night because of the impending snowstorm. We had to get out!
It’s beautiful. It gives snow globe vibes.
I agree with your husband; the winter months are getting more difficult each year.
Enjoy every minute. Hopefully we will have a reprieve from this very soon.
