Hi and happy Superbowl Sunday! Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Here it is beyond bitterly cold…as in today is the coldest days we have had in almost 10 years! Due to go visit family in VA soon,  so hopefully it will be a little warmer. Everyone ready for the big day? I will admit I am not a huge football fan by any stretch but become a quasi one just for this one day a year:) I normally follow who my son is rooting for and call it a day:) I am much more interested in watching the Winter Olympics (LOVE the downhill skiing event)!

Hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend. Onward to my post today-

1 SOME INCREDIBLE NEW ITEMS ON THE HORIZON! So our ever expanding line of rechargeable lamps has been a huge hit. With good reason, they are so pretty, can be moved around anywhere inside and out, and don’t require electricity or an outlet. They hold a full charge for about 8-9 hours which is substantial. We are expanding on the line in beautiful ways.

We have a big container of them coming in about a month (click here to see all of them) some are in stock now and some are a presale order. This one has just recently been added, love the classical styling of this crystal lamp-

These will be coming at the same time (these are larger rechargeable lamps, around 20″) Love them and cannot wait!

These are also taller (about 18-20″) These will hopefully be coming late April/early May, I already have a few spots for these:)

Lastly these will be here late April. We will hold a presale in about 3 weeks on these, we already have so much interest in them as we featured them on Instagram, they are just fabulous!

2 A DELICIOUS AND EASY LEMON PESTO RECIPE So this I guess what some might call a “hack” recipe. It is super easy and starts with Trader Joe’s lemon pesto. I embellished it a bit and cannot tell you how delicious this was! Great solo with a salad or paired with a protein. I even like the idea of serving this in the summer,  room temp.

  • Trader Joes’ lemon pesto
  • Olive oil
  • 1/2 onion chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic sliced thin
  • Fresh pasta (ideally) or I like DeCecco
  • Fresh parmigiano

Sautè olive oil with garlic and onion. Once sauteed add approx 3-4 TBSP of the lemon pesto and 3/4 of the chopped basil. Lightly sauteè. Meanwhile add pasta to salted boiling water. Once cooked, fold in the lemon pesto, top with freshly grated parmigiano and a few basil leaves as a garnish. Bon Appetit!

4 A MOVIE I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO I cant wait to see this new rendition of Wuthering Heights, looks really good and beautiful (love anything depicting the 18th century)…coming out Feb 14th!

5 A STATEMENT BANGLE This almost belongs on its own little post but a friend of a friend had a wonderful small wholesale higher end costume jewelry business. Due to some personal circumstances she had to close it up rather suddenly. She had approached me to see if I wanted to buy it. It was tempting as a lot of her pieces are really beautiful. I did end up buying a small stash and may commit to buying more. I am certainly not in the jewelry biz but do think her products are pretty and at a great price point.

One item I bought which I love is this elegant lattice gold 3″ cuff.I love a good cuff! I think they look good especially in the summer on tanned skin:) So I bought 25 of these, and of course kept one for myself:) These are for sale, very temporarily until we sell out, these are priced  below the retail price they were selling for. Very chic! They were just added yesterday.

6 A FASCINATING LOOK INTO DEGOURNAY I am a huge fan of beautiful handpainted chinoiserie murals. DeGournay, Paul Montgomgery and Gracie are considered to be the among the world’s  best. I devoured this video seeing how these exquisite papers come to life. I was stunned at how even one mural can take 80 hours and it certainly gives me a newfound appreciation for the artistry behind these masterpieces. What a fun tour!

7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY Two surveys today!  So the other day I was going through some linens and realized my favorite and softest sheets are from Home Treasures (have a few sets of the Houston sheet sets, click here). With some things, I strongly believe you get what you pay for. These have more than been more than worth the price tag. They only got softer with age. Slipping into them at night is heavenly. Bedding is one thing I don’t compromise on. I swear two sets are at least 9 years old!

I realized its been quite a while since I replenished towels however. When Neiman Marcus used to have their White Sale, I would stock up on their towels and hand towels and take advantage of their monogram event. Sadly, those days are no more.

Someone told me Pottery Barn makes a really plush towel so I ordered them and must say, I am impressed-  they are fantastic sans the monogram. They do offer monograms but these were a 911 emergency plus I needed to be sure we like them and we do so already reordered. Super plush and soft, love them especially in this frigid winter we are having.  Click here (these are the cloud).

It got me thinking about how long it had been since I had a towel replenishment. Sheets seem to go the distance much more than towels.

So this brings me to my question- how often do you replenish/discard/buy new towels and sheets? Really curious about this one! And a quick Superbowl poll as well:)

Delightful post Tina. LOVE the cuff and the new lamps wow! I do not like football but my husband and 2 sons are obsessed so they normally have friends over and we make a casual chili dinner with a bunch of easy things like nachos, etc…I use that time to read or catch up on a series haha. Not my thing but I will occasionally tune in to the halftime show.
I am going to look at the sheets you recommended, I am in the market for some. The last ones I bought were Matouk which were very nice but very expensive, however like, you, I tend to keep my linens for a while. Here is freezing too- looking forward to spring!

Good you’re not coming to Virginia this weekend…8 degrees in Central VA!! We are STILL dealing w/5in ice layer…2 weeks & counting!! THINK SPRING!! ❤️ franki

Adore all the new lamps. I can think of so many ways and places to use them. That cuff is really, really pretty also.! You have wonderful taste.
I don’t personally care much for football but like you, I become a fan just for the day. It’s pretty low-key here sometimes we’ll have family stop by to watch the game otherwise it’s low-key.

I am always so inspired by you. Absolutely LOVE the new lamps and am trying to figure out where to use them throughout my home! Thank you Tina for providing such beautiful products.

I am making that lemon pastas today! Perfect for a game day dish along with my chicken piccata! Thank you- love your recipe ideas.
I also love that cuff, if that is any indication of the other pieces, buy more! I need that cuff. Lamps are gorgeous too. I buy a lot of my bedding and towels from Pottery Barn as well, always been happy with them. Decent price point and nice quality. I find I need to replace towels much sooner than sheets. GO SEAWAWKS!

Love your recipes, but today’s lemon pesto pasta omits the amount of chopped basil to add to the mixture. A clarification would be appreciated. Thank you for a great post.

hi thanks. So this is kind of to taste, I didn’t really measure but would say maybe 4-6 basil leafs chopped which was put into the mix and then I used a basil leaf on top as a garnish. Hope you enjoy it!

Tina said a few basil leaves as garnish. I will certainly try this recipe. It does look delicious!

Great post this morning! If you purchase any more of the cuff bracelets to sell, I am interested in purchasing one.

Thanks, didn’t know they would sell out that quick. I am going to try to get more in the next week or so and will announce it here if/when I do. Thanks:)

I love mural wallpaper. The lamps look beautiful. Please commit to buying more of the jewelry. The bangle is beautiful and already sold out! Enjoy the day

Tina, I really enjoyed your post today. I can’t wait to try the lemon pesto! I would love to purchase a cuff if you are able to get more. Have a great day!

Love the new lamps, just beautiful! I can see them in my kitchen. Thank you for sharing the video about DeGournay. Such stunning work, loved watching the entire process. Completely amazing. And yes to new Wuthering Heights movie!

I love blue and white anything, but those pink lamps have captured my heart! And they look beautiful on the table in the Instagram photo.
Pride & Prejudice has always been my favorite romantic, period film but this Wuthering Heights looks like it could be very good. Can’t wait to see it!

Hi Tina
I made your Pistachio balls to take to a function last week… they were a hit!
Now onto the lemon pesto!
Love trying recipes that are tried and tested!
Thanks
