Good morning, everyone. Hope you’re having a great week so far. I thought this would be a good time for a renovations diary post to fill you in on the latest and greatest. I can’t say it’s anything terribly glamorous just yet, but I do feel like we are ever so slowly approaching the fun stage, where we get to start making lots and lots of selections.

In fact, those decisions are starting to come fast and furiously, so I plan to devote a good chunk of time over the next few weeks to finalizing things like bathroom floors, cabinetry, and more. Our kitchen and pantry are done, which I am very excited about. They are officially in the works and should be ready in August, with installation likely happening sometime in September or October, depending on where we are in the process at that point.

I am also awaiting my Delft tile sample box from Amsterdam, which I cannot wait to receive. The roughing stage is finally in the homestretch and should be wrapped up in about a week or so. I also pretty much am sold on the paint sample we got back for the pantry (below) which is very pretty.

I think the most exciting news is that the front portico is well underway. The framing and steel beams are in place. Of course, the finishing touches, like the roof, detailing, window, and those beautiful columns, are really going to be the crown jewel of the center entrance, but it is happening, and that is very exciting.

We also have a small pool house that is well underway, and I have started pulling together ideas for that space too.

So enough of my talking, let me show you what’s going on.

So here is the interior of the pool house, it looks pretty big here. Its not huge but its going to be a fun space with one central room and then a small bar/kitchen, bathroom and changing room (plus a utility room)

Below is the small kitchen space- we will just run cabinets on the back wall

A simple idea of what it may look like-

Somewhat of a loose vision, not sure whether we will make it feel dressier with “real furniture  or more patio/wicker furniture

In other news approved pantry color along with a few of the delft tiles under consideration ( my big sample box is en route, cannot wait to get it)!

Front portico in action-

Side view (master bedroom side) of new siding/windows-

Started looking at tiles/flooring for bathrooms. I am a marble person all the way. I just love natural stone and in all the homes we have used it in, never had an issue with it. Here are some contenders for my husbands bath-

For my bath, I am going with a white thassos/blue celeste, love both  of these. The first one I have in PB and love it-

My idea for the main powder room has not wavered at all, still love all three of these. The silver/gold could be nice as there will not be another areas of the house that has these colors but I so love the blue and green. Thoughts?

I’ve enjoyed watching the progress on your beautiful home. I’d suggest installing a small dishwasher in your pool house kitchen (if space allows). .As for the furniture- either style is great, but would use water-resistant material.

Wow it is coming along beautifully! I LOVE all your selections, so tasteful and classic. I love the idea of “real” furniture in the pool house as long as its a kind of heavy duty scotchguard type fabric, just think it looks so much more elegant that way. But either one is beautiful. I am no help for your powder room as I love them all, they are gorgeous.
Would love to know size of your new kitchen and where you are getting the delft tiles? We are going to redo a small kitchen and would love to use them there, such a beautiful look.

Thanks new kitchen is approx 24 ft by 21 I believe (more or less) getting Delft from a company called Regts.

ALL SO BEAUTIFUL. I GET SO MANY GOOD IDEAS FROM YOU!
I LOVE THE GOLD/PEWTER PAPER FOR POWDER ROOM.

I just love following your renovation! You have such great taste! Can you please tell me what color blue that you are using for your cabinets and what white paint do you use for outside and inside? Thank you!

Its a color by Sherwin Williams called Niebla Azul, we cut it with a small part white. Its a beautiful color.

Make the powder room a jewel box with something slightly different than the rest of the decor. I like the first floor selection for Husband’s bathroom. Going to be beautiful and classic home. Which we love!!

Yes always do that, the powder room should be the little jewel box of the home!

Hi Tina.. I love those “HEX” marble tiles for your husbands bath. So traditonal and elegant..Also that marvelous pantry color with those gorgeous tiles from the Netherlands.. Lucky you . Look at all the fun you are having lol

I like the window above the front door because it matches other windows at front but did you consider octagonal window instead?

Its a Sherwin Williams color called Niebla Azul (we did cut it with a little bit of white)

Thanks for sharing your great ideas. Just thought maybe you should use a Sunbrella Fabric on your sofa and chairs in the pool house. This fabric would help in case someone sits on the furniture with a wet or damp bathing suit it would dry faster.

Yes! I would definitely use Sunbrella no matter what kind of seating we choose….need the peace of mind!
