Hello! Busy busy days over here. The design job in NY is taking up a lot of my time, then throw in our renovation, having a new granddaughter, my business and let’s just say my days have never been so full (or long)! Yesterday, took a few hours late in the day to play Rummikub with friends and it was by far the most relaxing 2 hours I have had all week. It is important to try to carve out a little time for the things that relax us, though there is admittedly not much time for that right now.
Though I have not posted in a few weeks on current state of affairs with the renovation, things are very much happening and we are slowly approach that more exciting stage. I am almost done picking out all bathrooms which is quite exciting! Trim has started, flooring will start next week. Lots of exciting things on the horizon. As I always do I am sharing pictures taken recently and then a few ideas which I always enjoy getting your take on. So have a look…….

Finally finished the front facade now waiting on columns (supposed to here next week)!
Guest room dreaming

What I see in my sleep!
Stair hall fully sheet rocked!
Above what I am doing for laundry room floor (diamond pattern)
Will look something like this
Moldings, you never realize how many options there are until you start playing around with them OR visit a molding shop!

Trim in progress!
These are colors (mostly blue/grays) under consideration for the design job in NY but I love them so much that a few I am considering for my own house. Many on Instagram asked for the colors, will get them and share next time
3rd floor
OK here are a few areas that I am making decisions on, there is an upstairs landing/reading room, it goes out to the upper deck so I anticipate it will be a spot that will be nice to retreat to. On one wall we will have this built in, and then I hope to put two chaise chairs on the other side. I actually love all three of these colors! Would love to know your fave?
And then in our breakfast room, we want to do a ceiling treatment. You know I do love lattice! But I worry about dust, so we are leaning towards the coffered ceiling, but would love to know your thoughts?
There are SO many other decisions coming down the pike, and we are doing our best to stay on top of them, while not making any hasty decisions. I am, as many of you know working on a large scaled design job in NYC, so my head is swimming most days and I see moldings and paint colors in my sleep.
I know in due time, the design job will end and we will God willing be moving back in to our forever home. Things won’t feel so crazy every day, morning to night! To say my days are full is an understatement! Thankfully so far, I am handling it (and we are grateful to our amazing building team) without whom this would not happen.
I appreciate you stopping in and following this fun (most of the time) journey with us. Wishing everyone a wonderful day!
