Hello friends and happy Sunday! Hope everyone is having a wonderful and relaxing weekend. Part of mine was spent in NYC, part of it was spent for a fun group dinner and Halloween spent with Phillip and family…who made the cutest little policeman. Highlight of my weekend for sure!! Today, I may be playing pickle ball this morning then we may take a drive out east and have a nice lunch, we both could use a really relaxing day.
And if we don’t I am personalty happy to stay home as well, relax maybe start a book I just got, The Calamity Club supposed to be so good. As with all weeks in thee last few months, my week days are chockfull morning to night, between my design project, renovation and business. Not a moment to spare. Sitting down and writing these blog posts actuality are incredibly therapeutic and so relaxing for me. So here we go-
1 NYC PROJECT UPDATES The messy, not so glamorous part of this project is coming to an end and then slowly the furnishings will trickle in and eventually window treatments. I though it would be fun to share a few before and afters. I also love taking spontaneous pictures and I have to to say this first one I could see on an Apple ad:)
This was a picture I was so proud of! I think this is such a cool picture-
And then back in my NYC project-
The most fun playroom coming along!
The most fun whimsical elebator with the Hunt Slonum paper, just put in the black and white floor
Hung this fabulous lantern in the library, needs to be brought up 2 rings but so pretty!
Pretty girls nightstand
Prettiest jewel box of a powder room, waiting on mirror and small ceiling fixture
2 PAINT DILEMMA? I have been deep in the trenches of paint colors, both for the project in NYC and now starting with my own home. Many of the beautiful vanities that are being made from Rail and Stileare ready to be painted so have gone down a rabbit hole of whites and a few others colors for a couple of bathrooms that I am doing a colored vanity in.
These very large peel and stick paints colors are brilliant and can take the guesswork out of the mentally draining task for finding that perfect color!
3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST A random but joyful grouping…
4 A STUNNING HOUSE TOUR This was a charmer and I love seeing a home that is about the age of ours (100 years plus) and how its been so lovingly preserved/renovated. How pretty is the lattice room and that living room with the lacquered ceiling..love that detail. Very charming from The Potted Boxwood.
5 A PERFECT FALL SOUP RECIPE By now you what a soup lover I am, I could easily have soup every day. Once fall and winter hits, I always have a pot of soup on the stove. I recently made this minestrone and forgot just how good it is. Super flavorful and hearty enough as a meal. I serve with a crusty baguette. I love hearing how many of you are enjoying my recipes with the new format which you can easily print out. This is a winner.I promise!
6 TWO NEW QUINCE FINDS THAT GET MY VOTE Last week, I had a succession of rough days, everything went wrong. I went home and closed the door and just needed to fully unplug. The day before these new towels and cozies cashmere robe arrived..divine intervention! I drew a bath, lit a candle, played soft spa music and escaped the world for 30 minutes and it was pure bliss! I had to write about these towels and robe, they were absolutely a part of the decompression that took place:)

So I bought their cashmere robe. as a gift for someone a few months ago. She loved it so much, and talks about it often. So, I decided I need one too! And it did not disappoint. So so cozy and soft, perfect length and love that it has pockets. I bought the cream. I am normally a med but bought large as I tend to layer in the winter and this is the perfect robe for the long colder months ahead. It does make a wonderful gift.
Then the towels…wow these towels!! I have purchased a certain high end brand that are more than double the price and I tell you that unequivocally that these are every bit as good possibly better and fluffier! Even my husband commented on them. We only buy white towels but these are available in other colors. We were very very overdue for high quality towels and these checked the box brilliantly. Sooo soft, beautiful weight and super plush. In fact, I am giving someone set a of these towels for Christmas who I know will love them.
7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY Framed pictures is the topic at hand. 10 years ago, I made it a routine to regularly go and have pictures printed, framed and would proudly create new little vignettes of treasured family, freeing and Teddy pictures. Then iPhone took over our live and I found myself doing that less and less. And when I look around now, I see pictures that are so so old and yet I have so many special pictures on my phone!
I miss walking through a room or space and stealing a glance at a picture that brings back a wonderful memory. So this is my mission this month, by end of Nov. I plan to replace every single framed picture in my home (there are a lot) with updated pictures of my family, Phillip and Sophia and other special pictures. Curious do you this regularly or have you like me, fallen into the trap of just having them on your phone?
Last day to take advantage of our pumpkin sale- 50% off of what is left! And they are going fast!
They are beautiful for a Thanksgiving vignette and great time to stock up for next year. Even includes our porcelain pumpkins. Ends tonight at midnight.

Thanks for stopping in, hope you have a wonderful Sunday. Until. next time…
Oh my goodness, you are brilliant! That is the BEST elevator, EVER!!!!! The rest of the house is coming along so beautifully, and the silver powder room is a tour de force, but that elevator has my heart! I just love bunnies , and I especially love a checkerboard floor. Perfect. Bravo!
