Good morning, hope you are having a wonderful holiday (whether rain or shine) and i know for a lot of people, its been a washout. Today, as we observe Memorial Day, I hope we can all take just a moment to truly reflect on the profound meaning behind this day. Beyond the gatherings, barbecues, long weekends, and unofficial start of summer, this is ultimately a day of remembrance, gratitude, and sacrifice.

It is a day to honor and pay tribute to the brave men and women who so selflessly and courageously gave their lives in service to our country. Heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may continue to live freely, safely, and with the privileges and opportunities so many of us often take for granted each and every day. It is easy to forget what this day is really for.

Freedom is never free. It has been defended and protected throughout history by extraordinary individuals willing to put love of country above themselves. And while we can never fully repay that debt, we can remember them, speak their names, honor their legacy, and never lose sight of what their sacrifice truly means.

I also want to recognize and thank the families of those who have served and sacrificed. Their strength, resilience, and quiet sacrifice deserve equal respect and acknowledgment today and every day.

As we enjoy this holiday weekend with family and friends, may we all pause for just a moment of gratitude for those who made it all possible.

Wishing everyone a meaningful, reflective, and peaceful Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

Agree completely, thank you for such a thoughtful post. I have a dear nephew deployed overseas for 7 months – what a major life disruption for the whole family. He proudly serves and his wife handles home life amazing.

Thank you for the thoughtful acknowledgment of service men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Beautiful post!! May we always show our gratitude to those, and their families, who gave so much

I live near a V.A. hospital facility, which includes a national cemetery. A reminder as you approach this facility says, “The cost of freedom is evident here.” A good reminder!
