Good morning, everyone!

We got back from the beach, and it’s been nonstop ever since. I finally had a chance to wrap up my Sunday post…three days late is better than not at all!

We had a wonderful Fourth of July holiday spent by the beach with our family—the very best kind of weekend. Of course, the highlight was precious Philip. With our second grandchild due to arrive in just a few weeks, we are all counting down the days with so much excitement.

Between our home renovation, a large design project I’m working on in the city, and everything happening with work, I know this summer is going to be absolutely jam-packed. So any little pockets of downtime I can carve out, I’m incredibly grateful for. Summer already feels like it’s flying by.

OK…onward to today’s post!

1 BEACH VIBES So we got lucky and were able to arrange a fairly last minute trip to the Hamptons, we were invited to stay with someone but we wanted the whole fairly to be able to come, so we found a last minute cancellation rental right on the ocean. Its been such fun to be together with of course…Phillip being the center of attention!

2 TASTIEST AND EASIEST SIMPLE SNACK FOR A CROWD We have been having lots of World cup impromptu watch parties and with game night the other night where we hosted,  this came in handy. Everyone loved it and said the same thing ” I can’t stop eating it” and forewarning its true! Girls played rummikub and the guys watched the game. Had two big bowls of these and they were a hit!

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST So many beautiful random instagrams to share….

4 A DREAM GIRLS ROOM! I am working on a very exciting project in NYC and we are doing several rooms at once. This little girls room is turning into a dream…makes me wish I was 8 all over again! This is a loose final concept and I could not be more thrilled. Stay tuned!

5 A GREAT HOME TOUR I love featuring house tours that have caught my eye and this classic beauty kind of brings you back in tine. Its a long video with a heavy emphasis on the beautiful gardens but its worth the watch. Dying over her china/linen closet…the stuff dreams are made of! I also love their Sunday Supper idea and bringing together a community, I think this needs to become a trend!

6 HAVE A FAVORITE CREAMY WHITE PAINT COLOR? So already thinking about paint colors and for the. most part we are going neutral in the house. Also working on paint colors for my design job. We have used favorites like Linen White, Navajo White and white dove on the trim in the past (old house). They do tend to have yellow/warm undertones but now looking for something ever so slightly cooler. I think Swiss Coffee is a beautiful color and I am anxious to eventually try this on the walls as what will likely be one of many samples. Curious if you have a favorite?

7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY Once July 4th comes does your mind shift towards summer is almost over, just beginning or its time to rev it up and start enjoying the weeks we have left? For me, I think its the latter. Though a part of me also feels like a good chunk of summer is well underway.

4th of JULY represents a reminder to me that I am so very LUCKY to be living in this Great Country – even with all her faults – SHE totally is the BEST ! May GOD BLESS AMERICA.

And – for a good off white – try my favorite SHOJI WHITE by SW.

I missed your Sunday post and so happy to see it today! Thanks for that fun pretzel recipe, sounds good! That girls room is a dream, not showing it to my daughter, who will want a makeover! Your beach pictures are beautiful, that little Phillip is a doll.
Re whites, I have used Swiss coffee and absolutely love it. I am doing a pantry makeover and doing the cabinets in that color because I love it so much. Alabaster by S,Williams is also pretty.

Hi, Tina—I love your creamy white paint choices. I’m a retired Contract Interior Designer and Specifier, and since you asked about favorites I thought you might get a laugh…I’ve been specifying Navajo White with Swiss Coffee trim since the early 1970’s! Yes, through all the trends, I’ve stuck to my neutral guns and have never ever regretted it, LOL. We recently moved into an active retirement lifestyle apartment and the first thing I did was to have it paint Navajo White! No regrets. I’m sure whatever you choose will be lovely. Enjoy!

BM Chantilly Lace. Warm, not yellow. Neutral. Pairs well with practically any color without looking “off”. It’s clean and bright and it never looks dingy in certain light.

After trying different whites for 8 loooong moths we settled on Chantilly and never looked back. I have now lived with it for 2 years and love it.

These things are highly subjective so of course it depends what else is going on and next to it. But IMO, this white alows for flexibility down the road when one decides to do something totally different without the dread of having to repaint all the trim.

As a retired educator, your survey made me smile. While teaching, the July fourth holiday made me think summer was ending. Now I feel it’s just beginning!

Swiss coffee and steam are wonderful whites! No yellow tone, but they still feel warm and not sterile.

Hi Tina!
My go-to’s for creamy, white paints are Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace & Swiss Coffee. Have fun!

I like BM Simply White for south and west facing rooms and SW Alabaster for north facing rooms to give the walls a bit more warmth. BM Classic Gray is off-white without yellow undertones, but maybe more suited for commercial settings. BM Swiss Coffee is greige, well suited for more traditional furnishings.

All my trim in every house is Swiss Coffee. Wall colors vary, but not the trim. I find Swiss Coffee to be warm and give off a white vibe without being too harsh.

Sorry for the late response, but my go to whites are China White and Dune White both from Benjamin Moore
