Good morning, everyone! I hope you had a wonderful and relaxing Labor Day weekend. And now, it’s onward to my favorite season of all… fall!

As I’ve mentioned many times, I’ve been busy, busy, busy with both my New York City project and our home renovation, which is really starting to crank up. We’re entering the exciting stage, with all kinds of decisions being made—from moldings and trim to cabinetry and the built-ins we’re planning.

I’m very pleased to say that all of the bathrooms have been selected and many, partially installed—with one exception: the powder room.  I’m still trying to determine exactly what I want to do on the walls, and once I make that decision, I’ll finalize the flooring. Other than that, it feels like a major accomplishment to have all the bathrooms selected, and many of them are already well underway. I’ll be sharing plenty of updates here.

I also am still getting samples for the mudroom floors as well. Not going to be using the diamond pattern though I love it and it’s so classic because we are doing that in the foyer, basement and laundry room, so looking at new options, and waiting on some new samples.

One of the most exciting things happened just a few days ago. After many months of waiting, our columns finally arrived, and the first two were installed! The capitals haven’t been added yet, but boy, was it exciting to see those columns go up.

So, let’s begin with some real-life progress shots, followed by a few of my recent inspiration photos.

Amazed at how they put in the radiant heat, its so neat, kind of sad it will be all covered up!~

I have been to virtually every stone store within a 15 mile radius, I know the names off the top of my head like a pro! So many beautiful choices but thankfully I didn’t waver much and very happy with what we chose so far

So I have been hung up on this Calcutta Viola and can’t getit out of my mind! I need to use it somewhere! So we have a  very small bar area right off the foyer between living and dining room, I am thinking this might just be the perfect sport for a small, moody bar room. This deep eggplant or glossy brown with the marble isreally calling my name!

On a different and much lighter note, I saw these handpainted tiles and fell in love. I am. one of those people who can walk into a huge tile store and. hone right in on what I love. And this is what happened here. We have a small pool kitchen and I am thinking this might just be a perfect spot for these. I love that you can do them in a wide variety of color but this blue/yellow combo really got my attention.

Lastly I have a small office upstairs. I see a freestanding desk and some kind of builtin, possibly lacquered. I fantasized a little about how i would love for it to look and came up with this…now to bring it to life!
