From Round two-

Moving along to renovation diaries, things are really starting to pick up and its exciting to finally getting to the fun stage. We are well underway with the trim work, doors being installed, floors in bathrooms getting put in (showers not being worked on) Lots of outside work, to say things are buzzing would be an understatement but the reality is we also have a long way to go. I do not see any way that we could move before Jan/Feb and considering how brutal those months are we may just wait till early spring. Its up in the air at the moment.

So first some construction/on site photos, then a few of my ideas-

And our columns are finally almost done being installed!

Bedroom trim getting completed

This hallway’s trim is nearly complete so did a visualization of how it will look painted-

Funny thing,  our installer said he has not installed marble mosaic bathrooms in quite a while, said everyone is doing the porcelain that looks like marble. He said he is loving this job because he loves marble (as do I). I am old school and like what I like, bring on the moldings and pretty detailed shower boxes….to me,  its about the details!

Kids bath above- looking good

Details, details!

My bathroom in my favorite combo-white thassos and celeste blue

We have a laundry room floor! Love it.

An eventual powder room floor above

Husbands bath getting done, love the vintage vibe

We do lots of “dry lays” especially with marble before the actual install

Guest room shower

Eventual mudroom floor

Latest powder room thoughts- saw this floor and couldn’t get it out of my mind! I didn’t visualize the green for my house, though incredibly beautiul- but loved the concept so applied it colors I see doing the powder room in and here is what I came up with-

Here is a loose version of it translated into softer tones-

Two variations

The kitchen is ordered, the delft tile is in production, I have narrowed down the slabs for countertops to a few (deciding between a quieter stone and one with more veining but leaning towards the quieter to not complete with the delft tile) and still deciding but rethinking the range. I am leaning towards Blue star but also the Lacanche. If anyone has any experience with either….please weigh in!

Here are my  latest thoughts/quandaries regarding the kitchen-

Stunning!!! Makes my heart jump with all your gorgeous selections. We’re almost done remodeling our new/old home. The kitchen will have to wait til spring and you better believe the La Cornue is making a debut! The most stunning stove ever

I’m on gorgeousness overload! As for the powder room- I love the paler version. And Blue Star for the range. Your new home will be a masterpiece!

I like the Bluestar and as far as the marble goes I love both. Perhaps the marble with the veining for the island and the other one for the rest of the kitchen counter tops.

Hi Tina! Everything looks fab! I have 2 friends w. Lacanche and they love their ranges! Where did you get or will you get your framed botanical prints for hallway? TY!

All so beautiful Tina, I love your choices. As someone presently working on a custom dressing room and renovating the primary bath, I understand the decision overload. I adore marble too and going full on with marble for the dressing room countertops, island, bar and full bathroom. I chose a quieter one as well and would recommend that to you too as the delft tiles are sooo pretty! Don’t want to take your eye away from that gorgeous scene. I also had initially wanted unlaquered brass fixtures but know in time I will get annoyed with the aging/color process for everyday so I stayed with lacquered. All your ranges are gorgeous but particularly love the door detail on the la Cornue. Can’t wait to see what you decide!

Tina, I am enthralled by all the photos of the house and how things are coming along. May I suggest that you give serious consideration to Blue Star? I recently visited a NC store to view and explore Blue Star ranges for my new home. My son is a chef, and heartily and hands down I might add, recommends Blue Star. Plus, it is American made!!! I love the soft green version of your powder room vision. But whatever you decide, it will certainly be lovely and we will love coming along for the journey! Thanks for sharing.

Everything is so gorgeous – a dream come true!! The range choice is tough, the Blue star is the only one with windows in the oven doors and as the true cook that you are, wouldn’t you miss not being able to view what’s cooking without opening the door and losing the heat?

Like you I am a big fan of Visual Comfort lighting, especially their natural brass and every chandelier in my home is by them. I have three in my kitchen and just want to pass along that the Kohler brass for faucets etc is an exact match. And seems to be darkening a bit at the same rate as the light fixtures! I used unlacquered brass for the switch plates and I really don’t like the way they are turning, spotty and uneven.
