Hello! Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful Sunday! The internet was being updated in our area today, hence the delay. We are having some great weather, and started the day off with Pickle ball, always fun. Felt rusty but we all soon got back in the groove. A good positive way to start the day then we are off to the city. Life has been ultra busy lately with my design project, decision making starting to really crank up on my own house end, spending time with Phillip, running a business,etc…..not a lot of down time!

Sure enough got the first emails about dorm sales and fall jackets. Hope to maximize carving out fun time for the 6 or weeks that remain. OK, onward to my post today….

1 THEY ARE LIVING MY DREAM!  OK, tell me this is not a dream each one of us has had at some point in life? It has been one of mine (of many) for a long time. This American mother and daughter Marjorie Taylor and Kendall Smith Francini relocated to France to live their dream. They opened a small cooking school, Cooks Atelier in 2008 and the rest is history.

They now operate a very celebrated cooking school with a culinary boutique and a wine shop out of a 17th street building in Burgundy, the heart of the Burgundy wine region. This has shot straight up to my bucket list! This is what I define as truly living the dream! Click here to find out more….

4 A SALAD YOU WILL WANT TO MAKE OVER AND OVER! Featured this years ago when I hosted a luncheon and this salad was all the rage. I recently made a small batch and forgot just how good it is!  Trust me, you will love it! “Massaging” the kale is very important step. I am now per many many requests, putting my recipes in this format so you can save and print!

5 BEST FOUNDATION I HAVE EVER USED! So much so that it promoted me to do a Beauty Files post which will post sometime soon. I kept hearing about this foundation and finally ran out of the one I was using and lo and behold…they were not kidding.

This is amazing! I love that it gives my skin a dewy look. (I have dry skin) it gives nice coverage but natural looking. I even chose a shade online and it was perfect, I was told a shade that is one of their best selling shades, the shade is 1N14. A soft netural light beige with no yellow. LOVE how it makes my skin look. I get the hype now!  I don’t wear foundation everyday often wear a skin tint but do on occasion an always if we are going out at night, I like to glam things up a bit. A fan for life! Click here

7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY  So I am curious as to wetter you are seeing this or not. I have seen this with increasing frequency. Our local stores like CVS and Walgreerns locking up everything from Advil and Tylenol to nasal decongestants and now….deodorant??? I saw this yesterday and i did a double take. We live in a really nice are, so this is particularly shocking to me. Are you seeing this too? Seems crazy that theft of such items is that rampant that they feel the need to lick it all up! Doesn’t say good things about our society if this is the trend.

I live scouring instagram for inspiration but I am dismayed at how many images are actually AI…does this bother anyone else or do I need to embrace it??

Right there with you about AI. It’s disturbing. I’m a needleworker, and we see images that are impossible to execute but beginners buy a pattern and get turned off for life. That’s what really bothers me; I want to see something possible even if it’s aspirational or impractical. AI seems to be saying we don’t deserve that.

I have taken the Cook’s Atelier class and for meat was life-changing. Marjorie and Kendall are wonderful, walking you thru recipes and teaching you basic french cooking techniques. This essentially changed so much of what I do in the kitchen. They are unabashedly francophiles but totally without pretense. You should really do this. Just sign up and be merciless in planning around it.

Bathroom rugs are so pretty! Thanks for the kale recipe looks delicious. Great story about the mother and daughter Yea here in Boston our CVS is locking up more and more, it is quite sad.

I still love the copper pots but gave them up a long time ago – so labour intensive!!! cost a fortune-mine were from France and lined with tin and each cost hundreds of dollars . For me they were a huge mistake! Can’t even use for display as they oxidize.
Favourite picture hands down is tennis court surrounded by hydrangea – simply divine!

Wow – this weeks IG of interest has so many beautiful photos! I’ve been looking at your beautiful rug collection as I’m in the market for a fabulous runner for kitchen. I’d like it to be washable and as i searched the site no rugs came up. This could be a new productive line up for you.

I retired 3 yrs ago as an Executuve with P&G and retail shrink has escalated so dramatically with organized crime rings – estimated impact was $100 Billion! Crazy
