Hi, hope all is well. The big news here is we have a granddaughter! Sophia was born early Thursday morning and its been a whirlwind ever since. Phillip has been staying with us and he has been keeping me on my feet, but in the best way possible. It was so wonderful to welcome beautiful little Sophia into our family. Phillip is still deciding if she is a keeper or not,he is intrigued but doesn’t enjoy sharing the spotlight! We are making sure to lavish lots of extra attention upon him and though I am not used to watching a 23 month old for 4 days straight, I must say he is beyond entertaining and keeps us on our toes! And the cycle of life goes on, we are blessed.
On the business front, we are finally welcoming a few long awaited containers this week, so that is great news!
If there is a theme this Sunday, its about discovering some wonderful new (to me) companies, everything from chocolate to wicker!
OK onwards to my post this Sunday…..

2 A FEW GREAT DOCUMENTARIES I love documentaries, generally more than I do movies and series and watched some really good (on a diverse range of topics lately). All very good and entertaining, I will often go on a documentary binge and watch 2 or 3 in one sitting (when I have the luxury of time)!
3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST So much beauty out there…..
4 DOLLHOUSES TO BE BELIEVED! Welcome to Flip This Dollhouse Mama! The largest dollhouse store in the world! I am totally fascinated and maybe even more so now that we have a little girl in the family:) I just cannot get over the selection, the detailing, I am ready to move into one of them! Click here to go down a serious dollhouse rabbit hole!
5 WONDERFUL WICKER FURNITURE I plan on ordering some outdoor wicker furniture for a covered porch and upstairs deck. This line is new to me, but has been around. Love their wicker selection! Thought I would share in case anyone else is also on the wicker hunt….click here
6 A NEW FABRIC LINE TO ME I have to say something about those UK fabric houses….they often have some of the est most stylish, sophisticated textiles. This line is new to me but this first grouping stopped me in my tracks! Click here to discover their line…
7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY If you could go back in time, would you? When I was at the hospital , I wanted to take Phillip to walk around the maternity floor and let him look through the windows at all the babies. Much to my surprise, the nurse said that nurseries are now private (windows blocked out). I was shocked as I remember so well when my kids were born and how fun it was to see all the little babies in one room.
It made me feel sad also, I thought about how so many things are locked up at our local CVS’s and Walgreen’s, what’s next! I miss the days when i could walk in and pick up a bottle of Excedrin without having to ring the bell and wait on an employee or peeking at all the little newborns who all came into the world within hours of each other. If I could back say 10, 15 or even 20 years, I most certainly would!! I truly miss so many things as they were, these changes just don’t seem like they are moving in the right direction for us as a society. And you?

And that’s a wrap for this Sunday. Hope you enjoyed the post, and hope everyone has a wonderful day. Who’s watching the World Cup? We are! I generally do not watch soccer but must say, my husband and son really got me into it, so it will be an exciting match today! Until next time….
Congratulations on the birth of your Granddaughter, Sophia! I am the mother of 3 Sons. 2 Grandsons and 5 Granddaughters. Boys clothes are amazing but buying clothes for Granddaughters is the best. Enjoy every moment with Phillip and Sophia. Time goes too quickly!
what a beautiful post so many lovely things to discover. But the most exciting thing is the birth of little Sophia, congratulations to you and your entire family.! Very exciting.
those doll houses are truly amazing. I may need to take a day trip just to go and look at them.!!
Yes if I could go back in time, I would do so quite readily. I’m only 58 but I feel like things are just moving too fast and definitely not in the right direction particularly for our children. Enjoy your time with Phillip.
Congratulations on the birth of your Granddaughter, Sophia!!! That’s a beautiful name. Long ago, when I was a little girl, my mother took my brothers and sister and me to see my new born baby cousin. At this hospital, they had an outside nursery viewing window, so young children not allowed in the hospital, could see the babies. My 6 year old brother kept nudging my mother toward the door: he thought we were at the baby store, picking out a baby, and he wanted her to go in and buy her already!!!
Tina check Lane Venture for outdoor wicker they have a beautiful one that has scallops on it plus it also has sectional pieces so you can fit it even into small corners Then check out Mimi that has the Chipppendale styling to it and has a lot of great outdoor furniture pieces to chose from including game table chairs or the rectangular Dining Table . I am going to use these two groups myself but mix them up on a large screen porch.. Both mix easily with other outdoor wicker pieces Congratulations to you and your family on the birth of Sophia..Good luc with Phillip lol lol My grandson just went through this scenario he has become her very protective big brother but he is much older than precious Phillip..
Congratulations on the new addition to your family! Enjoy this special time, it goes by so quickly.
Regarding going back in time….
I often think that it would be wonderful to go back to Sundays being Sunday, the day of rest.
Close the stores, sit on your porch and chat with your family and friends with a glass of lemonade.
Play games in the yard and even play in the lawn sprinkler with your kids and grandkids.
Of course, Sunday dinner with wonderful conversation as we get ready for the coming week.
Are we creating memories for our children to keep in their hearts that are meaningful, I’m not sure anymore.
Congratulations on the new grandchild, Sophia!! Legitimate question: why is wedding seating now at one long table? Seems to be the trend and I don’t get it. It’s not very intimate and you’re stuck talking to the same people all evening. It may look nice but there’s no utility. Just curious…..
Congrats Grandma! My sisters name is Sophia!
I am a grandma to a 12 yr boy, a 2-1/2 yr old boy and another grandchild coming October 6th (a surprise on gender). Don’t know if I should say this but Grandkids are so much better than your kids (I had 3 girls) My girlfriend tells me that God has a special place in heaven for me and I believe her! lol
Congratulations on your new granddaughter. Mine are three years apart and were skeptical of each other throughout childhood; starting as teenagers they became each other’s fiercest ally. Enjoy the ride, wherever they end up taking you!
Congratulations on Sophia’s arrival!! Little Phillip will be her fiercest ally. We have a four year old grandson & a twenty month old granddaughter….they are such a joy & time is flying by!!
Sophia is a cute name. Looking forward to pictures. Society has been falling for awhile. Children are being raised by children or not raised at all do to their parents not being parents. Kids seem to be on their own from a young age. Someone has to stop the bad cycle….
Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful granddaughter, Sophia. Phillip will be a great big brother to his little sister. You’re doing everything right by giving him some extra love and attention.
I’m so sad to hear that you can no longer see the newborn babies. My children really enjoyed seeing them through the window. They also enjoyed wearing a gown and scrubbing their hands and wearing a mask so they could hold their new little baby brother. I’m really dating myself here….lol. I have to agree that I don’t like the direction this world is heading. Maybe I’m just old fashioned in a lot of ways, but I liked simpler times when we were free to do the things we needed to do without all the obstacles that stand in the way of our everyday lives these days.
I remember having free TV and boy weren’t we the lucky ones. No work involved except plugging it in and turning it on with an occasion antenna adjust. Today with this ridiculous streaming nonsense we are wasting so much time signing in and having to do codes qr and email and wifi passwords that it’s almost not even worth the time. plus the separate costs and then on top of it trying to maneuver through the apps only to get a spinning circle right at the very worst time o what you are watching. We were into the soccer finals last night and of course suddenly the damn thing stops working. WHY WHY does anyone believe this is progress? To me it’s a nightmare and I hate it. I also miss Ma Bell after having wasted literally hours on the phone, chats or on line trying to straighten out billing, troubleshooting, adding minutes , data or whatever. Just dumb in my opinion and such a waste of time when there are so many other things we could be doing and did back in the day. Life was NOT as stressful as it has become with all this technology.
So many congratulations on your beautiful expanding family! I can imagine how tiring it is watching sweet Phillip for 4 days! We’ll be first time grandparents on October – so very excited. I appreciate and enjoy your posts.
I would go back to when TV was TV – news was the news and not obnoxious divisive opinionated people ranting, social media wasn’t distorting reality for our kids – and I’d keep the good parts – more opportunities for women, technology and medical advancements. A very thought provoking question. Thank you
