Put it on your radar, two people I know who saw it just just loved it! I have been searching for something like this, it can be seen on Peacock.

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST A pretty batch of inspiring instagrams….

4 A RECIPE YOU WILL WANT TO MAKE! I love this, it has almost a chimichuuri type consistency that you marinate the chicken thighs in and let me tell you it is delicious plus so easy!   I served a tomato/corn/avocado salad and a light pasta with it and it made a scrumptious meal! I like it best on the grill but it can be made in the oven and equally delicious. Great summer dish, and tasty even at room temp!

Here it is on my new format for easy printing or saving-

5 THE PERFECT SUMMER NEUTRAL BAG Love anything laser cut/pierced and this bag caught my eye immediately. Love it and bought it in white but considering another color. Love that they make it now in a tote version as well. Really nice quality and just so good looking. Anytime I have worn it,I have had several people ask about it. Also comes in lots of other fun colors.

6 AN UNBELIEVABLE PASTRY CHEF/WEDDING CAKE MAESTRO I gasped when I saw these Renaissance ice cream cones, yes they are real!!!! Then I did a deep dive into what else this visionary, Bastien Blanc Tailleur can do and needless to say, pretty mind blowing. He is world renowned and based in Paris (surprise surprise) I have always been so fascinated by talented bakers and cake makers, what an art! I had such fun going down a rabbit hole to admire his creations.  Click here

7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY Call me oversensitive (which I know I am). I was in line a few days ago at CVS (there is rarely not a line at the pharmacy) in front of me was a very old-elderly man in a walker who moved very slow, you could see it was not easy for him.  I immediately asked him if he wanted to sit down (there were chairs nearby). I kept thinking surely someone in front of him will turn around and offer for him to go ahead of them.

There were 3 people 2 youngish women and one middle aged man. It did not happen. Then finally one of the girls who I supposed did not notice him immediately reacted as I would have and said “please go ahead of me” he said no at first but she insisted, my kind of girl! I was surprised out of the 3 only 1 did what I presume to be the right thing. He had a really hard time walking and on top of that had a few things to purchase. I was so happy she stepped up to the right thing. Would you have reacted the same? Thoughts?

If someone is directly behind me then I’m just trading places in line, I’m not taking anything away from the people behind him. If he was further back I might ask those affected if they mind. In these days of self absorption I would hope that others just hadn’t noticed he was physically challenged and wouldn’t object. Shame on them if they do.

First off, I often don’t check back to see who’s behind me in line and what their challenges might be. Next, and maybe a good overall “pretty is as pretty does” consideration: you don’t know what you don’t know. Someone young and seemingly healthy might be in terrible pain or picking up morphine for their relative on home hospice (hello! that was me not letting someone ahead of me in line so I could spend more time with my dying mother!), or hurrying back to a job that won’t pay them unless they’re present. Life is difficult and people are just trying to get through their days. You’re cherry-picking both compassion and judgment here.

And with genuine intent to help, are there independent pharmacies in your area? You might find the climate more personalized and comfortable. CVS is always a tough stop at any location, I think. It’s where almost everyone has to bring the hardest part of their life.

I have a question for you. I have a porcelain bowl that I want to use as a sink. Do you know anyone who could drill a whole in it for the drain? I’m having a terrible time finding someone to do this.

Might a tile specialist know where to start? Or a potter, ceramic artist? What a gorgeous idea — hope you find a way to make it work!

First off, I agree with all you said, but I’m 76. And I think that perhaps most of your readers are your age or older which is why the survey answers were what they were! The problem I think is that the younger generation are so very self absorbed they don’t see beyond their own wants and needs. I also think that if you surveyed 20 something year olds they might SAY they would do the right thing, but in reality it would never cross their minds. Compassion and empathy can be taught but often is not.

Completely agree with your assessment. It doesn’t apply to all young the younger generation (and I will bet it does not apply to your children) but it seems to be an accurate description for many of them.

Maybe we could give the people ahead of the elderly man the benefit of the doubt, and believe that they did not see what was going on behind them, and were intent on their responsibility, so did not offer. You were behind him, so you could easily see him and kindly offered your help. Let’s hope that’s what was happening with the people in front, anyway!

In the instagram’s of interest today avamarant showed some ginger jars with dogs on the lids. Would you be able to have access to some like these? I’m hoping for some really interesting good quality ginger jars. Please keep me in mind. Thanks .

I see respect for the elderly and common courtesy more times than not when I’m out and about. I think good people in America are really working on this!!! ❤️

The comments say so much about our society. I often feel like I was brought up in a parallel universe. Manners do matter. Making excuses for not doing the polite and proper thing? Please! Guess the “golden rule” is no longer practiced widely.

I would have absolutely offered to have him go ahead of me and would honestly have quietly turned to the person in front of him and asked her to do the same. Normally I do not respond to these “rude behavior” surveys because I do not like to get on my high horse. However, this one hit a nerve.
I had something like this happen years ago with my own elderly mother. We were at her very exclusive private club, where my parents had been members for decades. Mother was standing behind one much younger woman (I will not use the word lady) at the buffet. Mother was using a walker and clearly in need of it. Also present was Mother’s very professionally dressed full time personal helper, well known by everyone at the club as such. I was standing on the other side of my mother. Mother’s helper asked my mother, “Mrs. —-, what would you like?” Mother, in her always-gracious way, replied, “I suppose I might have one or two shrimp.” The woman in front of her heard my mother and she was standing at the table unable to decide. I took a couple of steps to the table and said to this younger woman, “Excuse me. Would you mind if I put a couple of shrimp on my mother’s plate?” The woman looked at me as if she were appalled by of my asking for this favor and replied, “Yes. I would mind.” I was dumbfounded. One of the staff members of the club who was standing nearby, watching the whole thing, caught my eye and gave me an look as if to indicate that this was typical behavior for this younger woman. Later the staff member and others came to our table to tell me that this new member (2nd wife of the creator of a well-known brand we all would recognize) is habitually rude to long time members AND staff, and has developed a reputation for her extraordinary lack of grace. In my day — and I am not that old — she would have received the cut direct from the members and her husband, a letter from the Board of Directors of the club. A second offense would have resulted in the notification of termination of her husband’s membership. Today, manners seem to be disappearing in so many circles. I believe it is in part because there are few or no consequences for rude or bad behavior.

Recipe looks amazing, making it this week! Also the ice cream cones- wow! Too pretty to eat. I discovered Frances V through you and have since bought several things, so chic.
Manners matter! I am always extra courteous to someone older or who might be handicapped. Its never even a question. Sadly I think its with Gen Z’ers. I see it too often. It is quite sad. Hope you are enjoying your little granddaughter!

I completely agree and I almost always am aware of people behind me because I make a point to be aware! I frequently tell people with very few items to go ahead of me when I have more than they do and obviously if someone is physically impaired by age or other conditions, it is the kind and considerate thing to do!

I loved “T’s” story about the rude new wife and agree that the board should do something and that in years past, they would have sent the first letter and then rescinded the husband’s membership with the second offense. I have a feeling she does not like first wives or people with old money and has an ax to grind and a point to prove which is ridiculous – especially given her situation and good fortune. Some people are just not very nice unfortunately.
