Hi and happy Sunday to you! Hope you are having a great weekend,  I have my dad in town which is so nice. We have enjoyed a lot of good quality family time (and some friends invited us out with him for dinner which was fun)  and lots of time with Phillip and Sophia, such a thrill to see their great grandfather with them….that doesn’t happen every day and we are enjoying and treasuring every minute!

Life has been super busy, with my design job, the renovation, running a business, family time, there is very little down time truth be told. So time with the family means so. much to me. Today we will do a family lunch, get to see Phillip and Sophia again and then dad is off to the airport. I already planned that I will be in bed early tonight with a book I am reading (forgot what a luxury it is to find a good book and shut the world out and engae in reading)! Used to be an avid reader, hope to pick it up again. OK onward to my post this Sunday……

1 FARMSTANDS ARE SO GOOD FOR THE SOUL  Sometimes when life feels too busy, hectic and crazy…I need to touch grass and often take a beeline to a favorite local farm. It is so good for the mind and body. I love walking around admiring the fresh just picked produce and something abut seeing the old rusty tractors next to the field of wild flowers or the crates all stacked up after a day of collecting just soothes my mind. Makes me wonder if I was a farmer in a former life, haha!

2 A SNEAK PEEK AT HOLIDAY LINENS! We did so well with the introduction of our exquisite cotton/linen linens last year that we are bringing them back, not only in cocktail napkins but this year, introducing fabulous full sized dinner napkins too!

We will hold a presale within the next 2 weeks! Never too early to start your holiday planning! Love them all and cannot pick a favorite, can you?

Now need your option we are also thinking of adding on a few gold options since gold is almost a neutral and super popular. Do you like the idea of the gold? If so which are your two favorite styles?

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Love this beautiful round up!

4 A RECIPE YOU WILL WANT TO KEEP HANDY! This is super easy only involves a few quick ingredients and you can make this even as a last minute meal or side dish. It is beyond flavorful and everyone loves it. Are you loving this new format where you can print these “cards” out!

Most of these ingredients you have on hand, I almost always keep Boursin in the fridge so this is easier than you think and the flavors are amazing! Definitely add the basil!

5 FLOWER POWER I forgot how much I love playing with flowers. Went and bought some beautiful flowers and made 2 arrangements, one to bring to someone’s house and one for me! These fabulous Dutch variegated hydrangeas were a beautiful starting point. They are HUGE and so so beautiful. Love the airy summery vibe of how these came out and until I use them or bring them somewhere, they always stay on the floor next to the ac vents!

6 A FABULOUS HOUSE TOUR I enjoyed this house tour, it shows how warm and welcoming a 120 year old carefully curated home lovingly used by extended family should look like in. Lived in, sophisticated and so inviting. Love the idea of the Friday/Saturday sail races where the whole island gets involved! Its so lived in, nothing too precious or off limits…a true family home

7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY I was reading an article talking about what luxury means. As I have gotten older, the word luxury has taken on new meaning. Luxury is my family being together ,feeling at peace, having my health, mostly non tangibles. But then there are those luxuries that we all enjoy to different levels, and that’s where this became an interesting conversation, it was asking what, that is considered a luxury, do you think is a waste of money? This will be in interesting! A few of these I admit to enjoying but a few I think are a bit over the top.

I wish you had an “all of the above” button! The only thing I think is worth the price is flying first class, but even that is only for 5+ hour flights. Hotels in Europe are expensive but we rarely pay +$1000/ night.

I totally agree with your comment and was going to write the same but you did first! Well said.

I needed all of the above!!! With the only exception being flying first class 🤩

Loved the farmer’s market pictures! That looks like a great one. I, too, love getting to do that.

I also would say all of the above. These definitely would be luxuries that would only be purchased if I had money to burn! 🙂

I LOVE the addition of the gold for Holiday linens. Christmas and New Years are wonderful times to add gold to my decor.

Hi Tina,
Wondering what book you are reading.
Just finished The Calamity Club and was transported to a different time and place. Didn’t want it to end and was sad when it did.

All of the above. I’m greedy unless helping someone. As a business owner you know you can have luxury without over paying for someone else to enjoy your money….

Well I thought of each that you had on the list & I I really don’t think of as a waste of money. However completely over the top weddings I did mark; & as I really don’t drink ( except champagne ) a bottle over $500 . But the biggest waste of money I’d say is fireworks. . Looking out at the night sky for 4th July I wondered just how much was spent by individuals for this fanfare. Especially with living in Las Vegas & you see the spectacular hotel displays.

The farmers market was over the top! Right up there with priority of family. Pure basics. Those things are truly the luxuries.

Love, love, love the holiday napkins. They would make wonderful gifts. How about some for our friends that celebrate Hanukkah?
